I played the game back in the 90s and it didn't thrill me, but with the QoL improvements the Ludicrous edition brings, I finally get why people love this game so much.
I’m playing this game on the Switch, and it’s super fun. Rise Of The Triad is feels just like Wolfenstein in every way. To its gameplay, to its secret walls.
Doom and its clones are not my cup of tea, but when you mentioned abilities, it remined me of rogue like FPS games that I love on PS4: Tower of Guns and its spiritual successor, Mothergunship and Ziggurat. I wish you'd review these some time in the future!
Looks pretty decent, can't say I've heard of it. Is the platform parts annoying? Kind of reminds me of Doom Returnal adding platforming elements to the Doom 2016 template
There are certain moments that can be annoying, but all things considered the platforming helps give ROTT more varied and unique level design for an FPS back in the mid 90s. The only parts that actually frustrated me were when I couldn’t figure out where to go, spending way too long backtracking through the level shoving my face into walls hoping they’ll open!
