The closest thing to a C7 Corvette is a Ferrari F12 , both front mid engine layout , very close performance numbers . And even though one has 12 cylinders and the other has 8 , they have almost the exact same displacement .
I'm German and here in the 90' it was a pimps car. Always hated it. Plastic, too loud, shitty ride. Everything was wrong. Last year I bought a C7 Z06. The car evolved so amazingly. Interior, quality and most of all not only competitive ride. It handles so well on the track👍 It's maybe one the the most underestimated cars out there.
Love my C7 Z06, with Z07 pack. My second Z06, this time around my first mod consisted of a DSC sport tuning control module, incredible difference in street ride quality and overall handling when combined with their alignment specs. If you track this same module offers tons of potential to dial in your Z06 to levels that will amaze you. The Z06 does in fact offer a perfect 50/50 weight balance, dialing it in with DSC suspension control takes your vette to new levels.
I just bought a 2016 C7 Z06 3LZ convertible automatic. I love it. I have owned a 1988 Z51, a 1991 ZR-1, and a 2011 Cadillac CTS-V. They were all great, but I love this C7 platform. C8s are wunderbar, but I like the looks and affordability of the C7 better. Thanks for the video. Mine is in Daytona Sunrise Orange Metallic...I thought I was a red, blue or black, but I love this color!
Literally I will take any front engine corvette over any C8 if I want something that looks like a Ferrari I'll buy one. I believe Chevy should have continued with front engine production.
Go drive a C8 before you say that, it's a great car, for a bargain price compared to anything that remotely looks like/performs like it. I bemoan the death of the FR Corvette as well, but this new generation is an absolute hit, and let's be honest, having driven a ZR1 I think they'd kinda reached the limit of what you can do with a proper FR platform, really, like there's only so much more that could be done with the layout from a track performance perspective. I think the Zora will win you (and everyone else on the planet) over pretty easily.
C7 rocks! “Nannies” can be turned off (track mode, race setting). C5, C6 (except for ZR1) feel more mechanical but don’t stand a chance on the track (stock vs stock). Also not sure about the trail braking comment. No issues with trail braking deep into the corner with my C7 Z06.

This car has to be manual to get the true feeling of it. Was about to get a c7z myself then test drove a c6 zr1 and never went back. No comparison interior wise the c7 is leaps and bounds ahead.
Really? The C6 ZR1 is that much better than a C7 Z? Im curious ive been contemplating picking one up. C6 ZR1 probably hold higher value especually the 2012-2013 models.
@@gene7314 Value is similar as of now but the zr1 will surely appreciate even higher as only 4500 were made compared to 40,000 c7z. Stock for stock c7 will win off the line, zr1 up top. Zr1 LS9 is much more tunable. 2.3L blower compared to 1.7 on the c7. Direct port injection makes tuning and modifying c7 more difficult and expensive. 12-13 Zr1 with PDE package is the one to get but command a respectable premium. 10+ has PTM and launch control.
@@gene7314 no problem, handling is pretty equal but you can definitely feel the couple hundred pounds. Jim mero offers the magnetic ride control upgrade for c6's which I have done on mine and its night and day difference.
I hate in the C7 that anything less restrictive than the "dry" setting sets the shocks to "track". I want the sports damper settings with the comp stability control and race traction control. Just the least intrusive safety net. The best setting I have found is the dial to sports with one press traction off, but the stability still intervenes too much.
