No need to battle it out, we all know you are biased against the P320 platform and prefer Glocks or CZs. As someone who carries a P320 daily and puts several hundred rounds of Winchester white box through it monthly along with my self defense rounds, I can say I trust my life with it. No malfunctions other than my big hands preventing the slide lock from engaging, which after adjusting my thumb has been remedied. I've owned several other P320s and had no issues with them either, they eat everything I've put through them with no malfunctions.
@@jameshalfhill9919 I’m not suggesting his experience hasn’t been real, but the common thread is he’s the shooter in each case. When I first bought my Sig M11-A1, I had issues with FTE’s and the slide locking back when the mag is empty. I had never had any issues with my P226 which is essentially the same gun but a little larger grip and slide. I called Sig and he explained that most likely it was my grip and I was riding the slide. I made an adjustment and never had any further issues and now have about 2K rounds through the gun.
Love the content man, but yeah I will say the 320 take is interesting lol. Took it right out the box and used it on a pistol qualifying course with absolutely no issues. Haven’t had any malfunctions during range days either as of yet. It may be less reliable than for example a Glock over its lifetime, but far from completely unreliable. Carry one for work and I’d definitely stake my life on it.
If you perform your own handling and do extensive research before making a purchase, you should have absolutely zero doubt that your tool isn't of the top most quality to fit your needs. At least that's my protocol on how I make a decision when it comes to buying something to protect my life and for fun.
@davidmack4185 I've been shooting Ruger firearms for just shy of 40 years, I just have a hard time looking at anything else anymore. I pick up a Ruger product for a very reasonable price. I know it's going to work flawlessly. Yeah you can spend thousands more and maybe get a slightly better off the shelf firearm, but at the end of the day, I'm no "professional " and neither are 99% of purchasers. I will say this though, I bought a cheap ($300) Savage .243 for plinking, it ended up being my go to during deer season because of its laser like accuracy, weight and 4 round capacity, great little bolt gun. Otherwise, Ruger is my go to every time.
Love my p320 x carry but I’ll be honest. I’m not sure if I’m pulling the trigger for a follow up shot or it’s just firing. Only have about 500 rounds. Still can’t catch it when it fires. I will say it’s the most comfortable and accurate pistol I own though
I have not had any failures with my CA M18. I purchased about 2 months ago and made grip, sight, and trigger changes. Prior to shooting I disassembled, cleaned and lubricated the pistol. I then ran 100 rounds of 147 grain for break in and another 400-500 rounds of 115 grain range ammunition. Not one FTF or FTE. Not one issue. So my experience with the 320 is the same as my P365x and P365xl. A smooth running and consistent running piece. I do believe that some people have had issues, but most I have concerns about the cleaning and break in process.
@@RUSTYCHEVYTRUCK I disagree. The model is dead; the platform is not. The M27IAR (itself a variant of the HK416) the Marines are using? Where do you think that action came from? The AR didn’t get the axe after early experiences in Vietnam because one of the world’s largest militaries went all in on it without really ironing out the bugs. They refined it until it worked because they HAD to make it work. It continues to live on largely because of modularity. Had the Stoner 63 or AR-18 been trialed concurrently with the AR-15 for the US military, there’s a decent chance the AR-15 would’ve lost out.
I was given a Hipoint C9. After extensively refitting all the poorly machined parts I ran 1100 rnds without a malfunction. This is still the most uncomfortable pistol to shoot that I own, heavy, too much barrel jump, and accurate as a rock tossed blindfolded. Such a wonderful boat anchor, yet a good truck gun. Never have to worry, no one will knowingly steal it.
I found a tackle box in about 5 foot of water while fishing once. Inside was a bunch of rusty hooks and a highpoint 380. I shit you not. The very first round didn't work but everything after that fired haha. I was pretty surprised because from the look of the hooks. It had been underwater for awhile.
The C9 is heavy and a little cumbersome. After the 20 rounds I adjusted the rear sight and have had no trouble with the gun since. I'm very happy with it. Serves it's purpose for buying very well.
I love that you included other UA-camrs and shooters experiences as well. Just purchased a Springfield Echelon after months of watching reviews and saw a very opinionated UA-camr bashing it. I was waiting for the mechanical reasoning but he had none and seemed more jealous that he wasnt "gifted" one for review like others were. It came down to his personal preferences. He also gave HIS Prodigy all the love of being a "great gun" and its funny that it made your list (and many other's). Thanks again for honest content! Keep it coming!
Glock, 43, 17, 18, 40, 23, 22, GEN 1 Gen 2, Gen. 3, Gen 4 gen 5, gen 6, 7, 8, and Gen ?????. All cheap plastic junk. Made with recycled lego blocks. By Fisher Price toy company.
I bought a P320 M17 used at my LGS. No clue how many rounds went through it. Never cleaned it when I got it and took it home. Since then roughly 2 years ago I've probably put nearly 1K rounds through it with honestly less than routine cleanings and I've only ever had 1 malfunction. I'd heard complaints about it online, but never anything in person. This is very interesting.
Yea, my M17 is 100 percent reliable, and my 320 customworks spectre xcarry is a PHENOMENAL pistol with 100 percent reliability. I don't know what these guys are smoking, but they even showed the customworks in this video and talked about it like its not reliable. Straight garbage video. I turned it off after that. Clearly they dont know what they are talking about by putting the HIPoint as more reliable than a SIG 320 Customworks XCarry. mind blown.
The only trouble I've had out of my Sig P320 M18 was a FTF. It was white box Winchester. I actually had two FTF's out of a 100 box. I rechambered one and it fired the second time around.
Love the video as always. But I have to say I have three Sig P320’s for over 3 years and I’ve fired well over 1,000 rounds in each one and have never had 1 miss fire. I guess I’ve been fortunate 👍🏻
@@patrickelles9006 I’ve noticed this UA-camr has a strong dislike towards the platform. It’s his opinion and I respect it ,but from all I’ve seen the 320/m17s are hard chargers
I've had my p320 for years, shoot it often. Runs great for me. I don't hate on anything (except KelTec...bad experiences) What I love about firearms is there's something for everyone.
@Sklounst_Actual I had a P3AT. It was my edc.It ran well, until it didn't. Couldn't get through a mag without a stoppage. Changed mags, ammo, sent it in to have them look at it. Couldn't trust it anymore, so I replaced it with a Ruger LCP.
Glock 19 owner here, I've had mine for 13 years now and I've out over 238,000 rounds through it without a single failure or malfunction, and I haven't replaced a single part. I've run a myriad of different rounds, both spicy and standard. No issues. Let me know when you reach that round count. I'm kidding. Lol I had a hard time deciding between a Sig and Glock, but I ended up with the G19 1 1/2 years ago. I love it, but I have a few friends and a brother that own Sigs, and they're great. They're fun to shoot and look amazing. I'll own a few someday.
When I purchased my Prodigy about 5 months ago, I had FTF and FTE. I sent it back to Springfield Armory and when they returned it back to me, it now runs flawlessly. It runs like a champion! It is one of my favorite firearms to carry to the range. It's a keeper!
I had problems with the SCCY but I contacted the company and sent it into SCCY and , after two returns, it finally came back working great! It feeds everything reliably. The turn around times were short, and the staff were friendly.
I can word my reply a little more like a white man, Thank you for your positive comment, but nobody wants to buy a gun that needs or likely will need to be returned. Taurus was in a slump like that back in the 80s or so, and it took them 35 years to pull out of all the negative talk. However they have been building very fine quality guns for decades.
My Hi-Point 40 is a boat anchor, it sits in my hand like I’m carrying a brick, the recoil is horrible, but it got me into the shooting game and it has a place in my heart. It also now operates reliably after 20 years of use. I still take it with me when I go plinking, but I take my good guns too.
I own 4 P320s and at my gun range we have 3 for rent. Neither one have had a single gun related issue. The discharging that Sig has corrected is one thing, however, the 320s are incredibly reliable by my experience.
Carried the 226 for almost 15 years, just switched to the m17 last year and almost love it as much as the 226. Only stove pipes I've had was from reloads.
im with you here! i own 4 as well x5 legion, m18, .45 and spectre x and at no time out of the thousands of rounds i shot(250 rounds weekly) have i had a failure to cycle, extract or stove pipe. the ammo tends to be the fail point if there is a misfire. primer strike and no boom
Sig having end users being beta testers is the main issue I have with them today I’ve got several 229’s that I love. I finally have a reliable 365 that I even waited 2yrs before I purchasing. The 320 I have no desire for over CZ or Glock options Sig didn’t do themselves any favors in the fuddlore department. It’s their own fault but there’s also pretty reliable sources showing their failures
I have the same experience with my M18. The only time I've seen it fail is when it's limp wristed. My GF can make it fail every single time. Interestingly, she uses the same grip with her p365 with zero issues.
Own 3x p320s myself (x5 legion, customworks axg and an m18). Outside of a few stovepipes on the x5 legion during the break in period with an under sprung recoil spring. No issues with factory ammo. It's the cheap junk stuff that gives the guns problems.
I have a Sig P 320 and I guess I am fortunate. I have never had a problem with it. I have shot thousands of rounds through it and had no troubles so far. Just a note after I have had it at the range I clean it thoroughly.
I just purchased a Springfield prodigy and have ran about 2000 round through with a total of 3 malfunctions the first 3 mags. After, no issues at all. Great shooting platform.
I have a Prodigy, Gun shop got it in April, I got it in late May. After 1st 400 rounds, 3 failure to go into battery. I cleaned it, the next 600 rounds 0 issues 0 failures
I’ve never had a problem with mine, but I have the second gen. I have over 1000 rounds and still haven’t cleaned it, zero issues. Yesterday I mag dumped 12 mags, 6 20rd, 6 26rd not 1 single malfunction.
@@clydezackery_hootie26 I have a 5” and 4.25 comp. Not a single issue with 5 inch but on the 4.25 there was Cerakote on the breach face that wasn’t allowing the slide to go into battery. I cleaned it off and polished it and there’s not a single issue with it.
When I got back into handguns years ago, I made choices based on cost. It didn't take me long to figure out you get what you pay for. Now all of the turds are gone. I still look for deals, but only on quality pistols. I was relieved that I did not own anything from the Top Ten Worst list. Continue to keep it real & keep it Honest, Outlaw.
When you shoot a minimum of 300rds per day in pistol, price point of the pistol doesn't really matter that much. Reliability, ergonomics, trigger feel/reset, accuracy, magazine availability matter more.
@@Diabolus_Musica Actually, I do own a Canik METE. One of the best triggers I have ever shot. I never intended to come off as a gun snob, but I've owned some budget handguns that don't hold a candle to the Canik METE. Firearms, like ammo has come a long way in the last decade. Take care.
@@anthonysamuel143 There many quality company's that make pistols/rifles. You have Glock, S&W, HK, FN,CZ, IWI, etc. to name a few. I've never had issues with my Sig P320. And at one point was considering it to be my ccw. However, I went with a G48 for ccw. It's why I like when a reviewer does a 1000 round or more, before giving their review. The issues with said pistol will reveal itself after a 1000 rounds or less. Also someone mentioned Canik which is another good company. And affordable too.
@@LRRPFco52 Lucky you, I wish I could afford to go through 300rds a day. I agree with your reliability, ergonomics, etc. comment. In my experience, I haven't been able to get all that in an inexpensive firearm. I didn't have to spend up too much more to get closer to your list. Thanks for your comment.
The high point in larger calibers (.45 & .40) is very reliable compared to the 9mm and .380..... and I speak from experience. I would imagine that the new 10mm probably runs too.
No, HI point might fir one round, so if you are doing and execution style kill while someone is in there sleep and want to make it cheap than sure get a hi point.
I have a C9 that runs great while my neighbors C9 has a jam once every 10 rounds regardless of who is shooting it. If you have a good one it's trustworthy if you have a bad one...... well, you have a paperweight. All brands have produced poor quality guns but the rate is vastly different. Hi-Point produces guns that the majority function correctly but do you want to hang your hat on 9 out of 10 being good (giving the benefit of the doubt, I've seen statistics saying 88%) or go with say a glock that is at a rate of 99.8%, seems like a no brainer to me.
I absolutely love your honesty. As a veteran, I was issued the cheapest crap out there and it was often hand me downs, (M60 with no rifling left, lol). But, again, honesty is literally gold. Why be a fanboy of a firearm and provide good reviews when in fact, throwing the handgun…or using it as a short bludgeoning device, is safer and more effective. I am by far not an expert, but I have a fair amount of experience and sometimes, a turd is a turd!
WOO HOO! None of the guns I have OR want are on this list! Truly appreciate y'all takin the time to put this video together. I'm sure you've helped a lot of people save THOUSANDS on potential purchases while putting the gun manufacturers on notice that they better fix their crappy merchandise. Thanks!
Sig is cheap made aluminum, that scratches easily, and the finish wears off with a pencil eraser, but mine never malfunctioned after running 1000 rounds tru it.
I was at an army/air national guard shooting competition last weekend and saw a M18 and M17 both have their rear plate and rear sight fly off during shooting 😂
Pretty simple fix. Try checking the screws that mounts it before shooting the gun, like anything else mounted to a gun...I have a M18 with the red dot, 3,000 rounds through it and ZERO issues..
@Dave Miller I'm happy for you, unfortunately what I saw last weekend isn't the only problems we've had since fielding these guns. Personally I would not use the M18 but that is my opinion
About four thousand rounds into my Prodigy, no failures with factory ammo. Shot it’s first match today, USPSA, no failures, gun was flawless. Several shooters wanted to know about it and try it because all they heard was that they suck. They don’t all suck.
The first gun I bought was a CPX-2. Knew what I was getting into. Long story short I sent it back to SCCY for a repair. They replaced the trigger assembly. It ran through 1000 rounds without a single issue.
One of my best friends dads ones a CPX-1 and him and his son both own a CPX-2 and they swear by them… I’m not brave enough to buy one tho, I’ll stick to my Glock 19x lmao
I've got a CPX-2 with a lighter trigger and don't have problems with reliability when using the proper ammo. That long trigger pull though. It's a back up gun.
I bought a CPX2RD for less than 300 I thought it'd be a good way to see if I liked a red dot on a pistol. That's the worst pistol I've ever owned hands down. The optic quit before I ever even fired it and it's never ran a full magazine without a failure.
@@BM205 Polish the ramp and use Remington white top and it will feed very reliably. Still a piece of crap though because of that long long long country walk to the mailbox trigger pull.
@@greggc8088 wish it were that simple. When you quickly squeeze the trigger it will fire most of the time but pull it slowly and it freezes then goes off when you release it most times. I need to send it back but truthfully I'm not even sure where it is.
My first gun was a Hi-Point 9 mm and with several hundred rounds through it I've had no real malfunctions. I did have to break it in when I first bought it but that's normal. After a few shots fired every time and has been really accurate.
Just rented a P320 X5 legion at the range today. had to sideline my own pistol and keep buying ammo for the x5, it shot so good. not a single malfunction either. I'm petty sold on buying one for a range toy. stacking a zone hits at 25 yards no problem. awesome piece
@@dilldowschwagginz2674 you wasted your comment most likely. A shadow 2, ts 2, Accushadow, etc all shit all over the x5. I'd bet even a P09 with a CGW hammer and assorted small parts would make it look bad.
@Ashley Weeks probably because cz fan boys are easily the most annoying and normal people don't want to be associated with them. Also they're ugly as shit.
It's been my experience with the SCCY that most of its problems stem from it never being broken down at the factory and de-burred. 30 minutes with a file, clean and oil, it becomes a low-cost, very reliable 9m hand gun for self-defense!
I COMPLETELY agree with you. I would even extend past just the SCCY and into a lot of other brands. It seems like there arent a lot of true shooters out there that will take the time to "tune" (probably the wrong term) or go through their factory gun to "slick things up". Its almost like most people are scared to go through with some abrasive cloth/fine files to clean everything up. Whenever I get a new toy, I disassemble it, feel for any burrs/roughness, clean those spots up, lube it and go shoot it. Havent had any real problems that couldnt be fixed by doing that.
When I worked at a gun range SCCY was by far the most problematic. It was worse than xds, Taurus, or even hipoint. It didn't take me long to stop trying to sugarcoat it and tell the customers their gun blows.
@@rapid13 I have one of the 45 XD's and I probably put more than 500 rounds through it and can't recall a malfunction. I just looked it up and the model I got is apparently discontinued. I think the XD-S is the same gun with a longer barrel though. That was some years back so maybe their manufacturing went down hill... no idea.
@@rapid13I had a Springfield XD-S 9 and I loved it, UNTIL winter came. I know once it gets super cold, some guns are prone to malfunction, but my XD would fail to chamber every few rounds. Same thing happened the following winter. I went out and replaced it with a Canik, then a Hellcat Pro.
I too have a SCCY CPX-2. Bought it cheap at a pawn store. Never really had any issue with it being picky with ammo, but does tend to have quite a few light primer strikes. I can usually get the round to fire on a second trigger pull though. I also put the light trigger pull kit in and reduced the pull from @ 8lbs to @ 4lbs. Just doing that cheap mod made it more accurate. I was using it as my carry for a lil while, but now I use my SAR 9X Platinum.... Talk about a smooth firing gun...I love that thing...
I bought an orange one just for camp cleanup with CCI #12 shot for snakes when I'm kayak camping. Works just fine. If I drop it I can find it. If I lose it I can walk away.
Oh man. I inherited a Kahr CW45 from my Dad when he passed away, and I liked it so much I ordered a Kahr all steel variant in 9mm. I’ve never liked that gun as much as I wanted to make myself like it, and seeing the Kahr on this list validated those feelings 😂
Have a p320. Around 2k rounds. Not a single malfunction. I do clean and oil it after every use. I’ve heard other people’s bad experiences with this gun, but my personal experience has been the complete opposite.
Same here. With factory ammo I haven't had any malfunction in the sig. I've had malfunctions with reloads, but not many, and it just comes with the territory.
I have a 320 with 2k+ rounds also. I’ve never had an issue but I know people who have. I also use sig ammo. I also have a M11 A1 I use for personal carry. Only bout 1k rounds through it but it’s accurate AF!
I have the hi-point .380, I had issues with it when I first got it. I put some time in polishing and greasing it and haven't had an issue with it since. It's not my only hi-point I also have a carbine with about 30,000 rounds through it, I will say it's not the best but will work no matter how dirty it got.
Interesting how often experiences can vary. Dad has a 320 and buddy has a 365. Both have been completely reliable after thousands of rounds. I have a Raider that runs fine, but don't think mine counts, seeing as I built it into a .458 SOCOM thumper. 😀
I own a 320 x vtac and can assure you I’ve only ever had one malfunction with it. And it was aluminum case ammo. Probably got about 1200 rds thru mine and only 1 hiccup. It eats almost anything I feed it. +p ++p these weird smiley face tracers my buddy had laying around his ammo box for years. All sorts of hollow points. And standard range ammo. It eats up steel case. And brass is obviously flawless. I only use sig factory mags. That’s the key to most guns tho. Aftermarket mags are trash and you shouldn’t let your life depend on them. They’re range toys.
@@Longbarrel24How so? It was the the 2nd best selling hand gun of 2023 (behind the P365). I have had one since 2020, likely 4000-5000 rounds through it, and my EDC for 3 years. Never a failure. I clean my guns after every range trip and only shoot factory ammo (usually blazer and Federal). The gun is a durable as my Glock I have ever owned.
I had a tarus g3c for two years as my first carry gun and it was fantastic I definitely put over 1000 rounds through it in those two years and it did great I had two jams that I can recall
Wow, I have an M17 and have no issues with it at all. I've also got a P365 that I have no problems with. I generally run 250 to 500 rounds through them per range session.
Maybe I've got one of the good ones but my sccy has had zero issues after thousands of rounds at the range. It's a damn good carry pistol. The only complaint I have is that it's not as comfortable when shooting all day like some of my other pistols.
I got a taurus millennium G2 I found at a gun show for $198. Good gun. Took it to the range and ran 500 rounds through pretty quick only had 2 hang ups. That’s good it was straight out of the box to the range.
I qualified on the M17 for the first time a month ago. I shot 45 rounds that day and had 6 malfunctions. Half of us had at least one malfunction. I don't remember ever seeing the M9 fail.
M9's had a lot of issues early on. The M17/18 is imho the M9 mk.2 in terms of how stuff is going down complete with similar recalls and failures. Also, military service weapons are made to a lower standard and see much more use and abuse. Judge both them M9 and M17/18 based on their brand new forms first then judge their resilience later.
I own the M17 and a P320 chambered in 45 and was issued the M9 back when I was in. The M9's slide is sloppy as fuck. neither of my sigs have had any malfunctions. Now my brother in laws M18 has stove piped a bunch of times when we were shooting together on fourth of July. We were using 115 grain steel cased but for some reason the M18 didn't like it. But it's no different than AR's of different lengths and gas systems prefering shooting different grain rounds too.
RE: Sccy. I bought mine with the 2 mags that came with it, and then bought another 2 as well. 2 mags ran great, one had FTF every 2 shots or so, and the last was as you describe, just nothing worked reliably, including spontaneously ejecting the mag. It was also really hard to load a full 10 rounds. I compared them visually, and the one with the failure to feed issues' feed lips were rolled in on one side, like it had been bent in. A little time with the needle nose pliers, problem solved. The 4th mag, I'm pretty sure was a manufacturing error, as the corner with the mag lock notch was more rounded, like it hadn't been stamped correctly. I put a piece of keystone in a vise, and used it as a form to tap it square. Viola, solved all the problems. Nyet, pistol is fine, magazines not so much.
I was a little surprised to see the 608 on there. I have had mine for like 12 years and have no clue how many rounds I have through it. It has always been a joy to shoot, and no matter how many rounds of any brand and reloads, 38spl or 357 I shoot it always eats them up with never a single malfunction of any kind. It has also been very accurate. So I was surprised when I heard that one and your experience with one
I've had mine for at least that long and have never had one single problem with it, nor have I ever heard anyone besides this guy say anything at all negative about 608.
I bought my 608 almost since it first came out. First load of ammo cylinder locked up... was afraid i wasted my money! But I found out that the primer from my reloaded ammo had blown out of the pocket and got jammed. after that... no issues at all! in fact I bought it's big the matching 44 mag.
The earlier metal framed Taurus PT 22 that I used to have was pretty reliable and was better looking than the polymer framed one like in this video. A lot of people who bought these awhile back were running stingers and CCI minimags through them and it says specifically not to use hyper velocity ammo in these in the owners manual that came in the box, and that's where a lot of problems were coming from. It's been several years ago since I've had the PT 22, I had other firearms, so I ended up selling it. Having said that, I enjoyed the video😁👍.
When my P320 was brand new, sometimes the slide would not lock in the rear position after the last shot. After 200-300 shots, it was fine, and I've NEVER had any problem with it at all. I have friends with P320s, and they love theirs, too. It's an excellent weapon.
I have a 608 and it not only is dead reliable but will put shoot the last colt python I owned. Don't get me wrong, I generally hate Taurus but sometimes even Taurus gets it right.
@@bobailanjian3700 Can't speak for the revolvers, have actually avoided them just in case....but, the 5 or so G series pistols I have shot and/or owned have been solid performers. Literally every bit as reliable as my Glock 19, M&P 2.0 Compact, or my HK VP9 Tactical. The finish doesn't hold up as well, but the gun hasn't started to rust or anything. I cant be mad at that for a gun that costs less than half what the others do, is optic ready, and double strike capable. I use a G3 TORO as my hiking/biking/camping gun, so It sees a lot of sweat, water, and dirt while getting banged around the most.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and no one can take it away from you. I will stipulate that you have had malfunctions while using the P320 as it’s your experience and your presentation. I have 4 320 models. 3.6” compact, 2 3.9” Spectre X Compacts and the full size M17. The compacts have been my EDC and duty weapon for several years. I have well over 20,000 rounds through them all combined and have had ONE ammo related malfunction. Again, just as yours, one man’s opinion. I enjoy your content. Be safe and keep it up!
Never owned a P320 but do own a P229, P220 and 716i snake bite. All perform exactly how it should and would use any of them to protect me and my family's life.
Interesting. we have eight 320 style weapons with a little over 27K rounds in total through them and have not had any issues in practice or matches. Most of the rounds have been just over power factor 124gr reloads. But every 124gr HST fired for practice has been good as well.
Because you are doing right by shooting hot ammo through those guns. Same with HK and Gen5 Glocks they prefer hotter ammo that’s why they can all take +P all day long. The guy in this video fires some underpowered junk ammo and he’s wondering why the gun has a FTE.
@@great_deception doesn’t negate the fact that’s it’s by far the least reliable out of any of the large company striker fire pistols. And they aren’t drop safe, go off on their own, care more about the military than you. Good luck pointing that at your junk all day 👍
That's a newer style PT22. My wife has an older model, and it's a lot of fun at the range. I don't think she or I have ever experienced anything worse than the occasional failure to eject. Really sad that this is what's become of the line.
Same. My older model PT22 was fun and as reliable as any other 22LR pistol I've ever shot. The most unreliable gun I've ever used was a Sig Mosquito which is also in 22LR.
@@stoptrackingourdata8158 I don't know the exact version of the PT-22(I know it was silver/nickel with wood grips) I got my wife but it jammed every mag with every ammo we tried. I did like the feel/shape of the grip but I couldn't deal with the issues. I eventually got her a used Neos, that thing never jams and cycles everything including subsonic.
@@Daedric_Angel Interesting. That's the same type of PT22 I had. The only time mine didn't cycle was with bad (corroded, old, or weak) ammo. Never had a Neos. Neat looking gun! Beretta also made a PT25 that was more reliable since .25 ACP is centerfire and more reliable than .22 LR itself.
i have an older pt22 and it would jam once in a while but the mag was the problem, it was a loose fit, i saw a video where they stretched a o-ring over the mag to tighten it up so I tried it and my issues went away
I bought a PT22 in 1994 and used the #ell out of it, the thing that failed consistently was the firing pin after 300 to 400 rounds of standard velocity ammo. My solution was to buy a dozen firing pins, which at the time were 3.50 apiece and replace as needed.
I’m so happy no one is really butt hurt about his opinion of the p320 instead just sharing their great experiences. My 320 has run flawlessly but everyone is different.
Seems like their officers need more training. I've carried a 320 and carry a 365 XL everyday. Never had any sort of negligent discharges with them, including using the wrong holster for the 320 for a while.
I own 4 hi point 9mms, a 45, and a 10mm. Very reliable. I've had very few issues. 2 of my 9mms are over 20yrs old and I can count on one hand the number of malfunctions I've had. My 45 only malfunctioned when trying to use the carbine mags. My 10mm has yet to malfunction. They are big and heavy with a shitty trigger. But I'm a big man with very large hands. I love em.
Same here! I have a P320 that is my duty-issue pistol and have had no issues. I also have a Carry and a subcompact. No issues, and they eat everything I put in them.
Also I’ve shot like 5 to 8 thousand round through it I also shot it as long as it would go without cleaning after a couple thousand it needed to be smacked on the butt every once and a while to fully cycle but that ain’t shit after a cleaning ran like a champ again
Yeah I have a p320 compact that came with new trigger, and a p320 x compact. Zero malfunctions on a couple thousand rounds on each. Guess I've been lucky.
I have the P320 AXG Classic. When I first shot it, it was right out of the box so it was super dry, which caused it to jam. But then I piled everything up and took it apart and now it shoots perfectly.
I've owned 4 different P320s since the platform has been introduced, zero issues with any of them. Rapid fire, not cleaning it and one handed, still zero issues. I feel like this guy is misinforming his audience as you can't find many videos showing P320 malfunctions that aren't solely on the user. He also may be using unreliable ammo, such as aluminum and steel case. Just my 2 cents as an actual owner and daily carrier.
What he fails to mention is that sig has probably the second best warranty in the business, with the best being hipoint. Part of why I have an issue with this video. I work in a gun store and we never get people bringing in Sigs but we constantly see M&Ps and Glocks.
My P-320 Compact is in .45 ACP and it just runs and runs. It also has a great trigger. I'm not the biggest fan of striker-fired pistols, but I shoot the 320 well.
Maybe it's ammo picky, but that's a factor too and he said it. Probably the heavy slide or heavy slide spring is the cause of it. You have to break it in or use powerful or +p ammo. I don't like the P320 anyway though.
I have 2 Sig P320s. The first one has somewhere between 1500 & 2000 rounds through it. Zero Malfunctions, jams, or problems. The second one was purchased a little over a month after the first. It's had 3 malfunctions (2 FTF & 1 FTE). These were all within the first 300 rounds. It now has over 1000 rounds and hasn't had an issue since those first 3.
My 320s have no malfunctions. Many thousands of rounds in USPSA, steel challenge, tactical classes - the x5 legion and xcompact have been good to me, and I’ve modified them heavily. Very odd.
He had”10”of them While the us military has hundred of thousands of them ! The reports coming out of the military is nothing but very positive. It’s funny when UA-camrs think they know it all. Btw, I don’t have a sig but I uses to in 2018 with over 10k rounds and a perfect record in my book . I own a G19 now with thousands of rounds in it and yes, I had a few malfunctions with the Glock ….. still love it tho.
Same here. I've got an X-five(I use it for 3 gun) and a compact. I've had zero issues with thousands of rounds through each. Not sure he's having so many issues.
I always found it funny how the Taurus 608 is such a lemon. The things mentioned about it are all things I’ve read about. Always hear good things regarding the judge and I have some time with the model 66. Absolutely loved the model 66
Wow so surprised about the P320! I have P320 xCarry with a zev slide and it’s my favorite, never malfunctioned thru about 53K rounds so far, until JUST last week when I noticed the front sights had moved to the right on their own. Zev said can happen if shot a lot and gets hot (do, at classes especially), and they’re replacing the slide. But as far as malfunction, zero!! Have I just been lucky??
The only issues I've had with my SIG pistols is light primer strike which i attributed to the ammo because I only got light strikes when using Winchester 115grain fmj. It very well could be the pistol but I'm just not sure that's the case
Over 1000 rounds through my old SCCY and had 1 malfunction at around 500 rounds while intentionally shooting "dirty" ammo. My Sig 365 has had more failures than my SCCY, in fewer rounds and with only clean ammo. I did get my SCCY reasonably broken in - the original user put over 300 through. Other SCCY owners I know have similar experiences, stating at worst, it is more sensitive to buildup and needs more frequent cleaning than say a Glock (what doesn't). Maybe we lucked out, but I would take SCCY over anything else on this list, hands down.
Same here. Maybe they went down hill post-COVID or something, but my older CPX-2 runs like a champ. The factory trigger takes a little getting used to, but at least it's smooth and consistent Doesn't seem to like the 32-round ProMag, but that's just for giggles anyway....
I own 365 and a 320 have probably 1000rds on each and no problems, I've shot a nice 43x and had it jam 3 times within 50rds which doesn't seem normal too me since a lot of people swear by glock just my experience. Not just a sig fanboy would like to get into glocks and s&w. Sucks everyone can't have good experiences with every brand like others.
@@WhyZeeMx that's why I was asking, people modify glocks trying to make them "nice" and just end up screwing up the reliability, although I personally dislike the glock single stack 9MM's anyway. Try the Gen 5 19. Very nice reliable glock
I'll admit when the sig p320 made your list I cried on the inside a bit. I'm pretty new to the 320 platform but no malfunctions so far. My Cz p07 will continue to be my go to pistol.
Ive had one for years and it has never malfunctioned. I dont get where he is getting this, unless they are shooting the trashiest reloads possible thru it
@@mr_unsane I mean did you watch the video? He states quite clearly where he is getting it. Has owned 10 p320’s and all of them have had issues. Can’t really blame the guy for not trusting them at that point. And I am a pretty big Sig fan boy btw, not trying to just pile on and be a hater. The p365 series seems to perform much better, and the p22x and mcx series of guns are some of my favorites ever made. Id trust a p365 or Mcx or p22x series of gun with my life but I’ve never trusted that the p320 won’t go off on its own or when dropped. Or apparently even work reliably in the first place.
I've had several Taurus G series pistols and also the TH9c. I have enjoyed all of them. I can honestly say that the TH9c is a reliable side arm in my opinion. Given the size and weight difference it gives a low recoil kick allowing it to be more user friendly.
The g series Taurus pistols are not on this list for good reason, their excellent. I would even say a G3 and a gx4 are arguably the highest value pistols sold
@@andreawhalen4142G series: I have 5 of these: 2 G2Cs, 2 G3Cs and one G3. The G2Cs are more reliable than the G3 and G3Cs. All jam a lot. The G3 and G3Cs are total crap. All of my G series handguns immediately jam with multiple types of hollow point ammo. The only Gs I can sort of reliably use is the G2Cs with FMJ. Ohh and none are the G series barrells have the chambers properly bored to depth so various types of ammo will not even chamber. Take the barrels out, drop a round in like fiocchi hollow point and it will not go all the way in. Fails drop test. As a control I dropped the same round into a Lake Line barrels "for Taurus G3c and a G3" and the round drops in all the way. So save your money. My Taurus G3 and G3Cs are more functional as bricks. The G2Cs are better but still not worth wasting ammunition. They are broken in and polished.
@@RPSGT88 Man are you alone on your evaluation. This guy here has reviewed and compared it several times and highly recommends, getting the same results that I have with my G3c, as well as my TH9. I've not seen any youtube reviewer getting the same results as you.
My Sig P320 Vtac has about 4000 rounds through it. I clean it about every 1000 rounds. The only time I’ve had a failure was when I was using a cheap after market magazine. It’s also a very accurate and fast
The only guns I own that I've never had a single malfunction out of are the Sig P320 XF, my Canik Mete SFx, and my S&W M&P 2.0. My Shield Plus has had 2. Both with Blazer Brass. Also, S&W needs to make a 2011. All of their guns seem to be super reliable.
The CSX was a misstep and they haven't fixed their revolver barrel cant problems. The company has gone through a lot of rough years since the 90's and have never really had a perfect line-up.
@@phantomspaceman the CSX didn't have reliability issues. It was just the awful trigger and the fact it was released so close to the Shield Plus which is a phenomenal edc gun imo. The main reason I suggested a Smith & Wesson 2011 was because of the reliability issues with the Springfield prodigy. Nobody ever puts S&W in the same category with firearms that have FTF's or any jamming issues.
@@phantomspaceman Barrel cant on S&W revolvers? Can you explain more or point me to a video/article that explains it more because I inherited a 686 Plus and would like to know what to look for.
Thanks for talking about these things. You made me pause buying a Sig M18 and consider my other options. I really like how the M18 looks (I'm bored of black pistols). I ended up going with an optics ready M&P 2.0 in FDE which was actually cheaper with better weight, bore axis, and size. I put the Holosun 507k on top and it shoots like a dream. Thank you for being one of the only gun reviewers that is willing to call these manufacturers out when necessary.
I had heard about the malfunctions the prodigy had from my local gun shop because it had just been released. I was told to wait until the second gen model came out. Hopefully Springfield irons out the issues
I have a 5" Gen 2, 4500 rounds through it with zero malfunctions. Broke it in with 124 gr - 500 Rounds - now it shoots 115, 124 & 147 all flawlessly. Slide fit after 4500 rounds is still like 2 pieces of greased glass sliding against each other. I did make a couple changes - an Atlas Trigger (1.5 lbs), One piece Atlas Guide Rod and an extended slide release.
I really appreciate your honest reviews!! You never drink the brand kool aid and judge the guns strictly on how they perform. Thank you for taking the time to do this list. Your saving people money!! Its funny cuz i come across alot of these guns you mentioned in pawn shops 🤣
Something I like about honest outlaw is he assesses guns which normal people like me cannot only afford but can also justify in the budget. Strictly speaking, I can afford stuff from the fancier gun channels, for example, the HCAR, but since I’m no longer 21 years old and fresh in my first ever above minimum wage fill time job, I actually properly value money and understand the difference between being able to afford something and being able to buy something. As absolutely awesome as it would be to have a near custom-made 30-06 heavy repeater rifle brought up to modern standards, the reality is even though I do use firearms for a living, I can’t find a way to justify spending enough money to feed somebody for a year on a gun, never mind the magazines, accessories, or ammunition. Especially can’t justify it Considering my XD, AR, and Mossberg do everything needed for 1/4 the price of just one.
Are you sure that wasn't the ply22? the pt22 is the "updated" model. I had one for several years before I found a gunsmith to take it off my hands for $100. Fun little plinker which is why I bought it but definitely a jam-o-matic. Replaced it with a TX22 and that thing is awesome.
The funny thing about the P320 being on here is Military Arms Channel did 1,000 rounds through one in under 15 minutes. By the end, the slide was just over 100 degrees f. The trigger was at 205. The barrel was at 300. Yet, not a single malfunction. I guess I should be happy I haven’t had any malfunctions yet either, since it’s on this list. Wouldn’t call my self a fanboi. I have 6 other pistols I really like of different brands. The 320 just happens to be one of them.
I've heard of a few non-credible complaints about the 320. I'm no big fan of the 320, but I own a couple and the 9mm VTac has been deadnuts reliable in over 1400rds, and the .357Sig has been Glock reliable for over 4000rds. It may be that there are some issues, as with any manufactured product, but since it's a Sig it's worth alot of clicks if you bash them. Same with HK and Walther, nobody is interested when Rugers and Mossbergs are unreliable.
My P226 extreme was my favorite pistol for years. Incredible gun. I was looking at the p320s but went another route, so glad i did after seeing all these videos.
Controversially I think the Prodigy would be a decent one considering there is a really fantastic warranty available for it. As the gun goes through modifications or upgrades I am confident it will be a solid 2011 platform. I had a Para B-Ops 1911 and I heard they were great, mine was doo doo. My friends worked flawless.
I once bought a compact 45 cal 1911 from Springfield Arms. First couple time I took it to the range I experienced feed issues. I ended up having to send it back to Springfield for repairs. It came back and has not had an issue since. That was 2003. My point is that while Springfield doesn't always get it right, I've never experienced better customer service.
I've heard that if you have issues with the Prodigy, and you send it in to Springfield, they get it sorted and it runs fantastic. I actually recently sent in mine. Hope to get it back in a couple weeks.
I find it odd the 320 is here because I don't know anyone with issues with malfunctions in general outside of the usual first break in period. I have a few and no issues other than my first couple hundred rounds would have an odd out of battery I never even had a stovepipe.
@@oskar6661 I don't think so man I have a p320 with a ton of rounds through it and no issues. No one I know has had any, not saying they don't have them because Evey gun has some.
I've been fortunate with my Hi-point C-9 in that it has been reliable. It's mostly a range toy and truck gun for me. I did have an issue when I first got it, turned out to be a magazine issue. New mag, no probs and goes bang every time. I have seen numerous 380s that are as bad or worse than what your vid shows.
I have the Gen 2 Prodigy. Absolutely zero malfunctions in 4500 rounds. Keep it lubed and it runs like a scalded dog. It's my number one race gun. My custom G34 is now in 3rd place behind the Prodigy (#1) and the Canik Rival with the Taylor Freelance Weight kit (#2).
I had a SCCY and it functioned great up until the frame pins started walking out. They sent me larger pins because this was a known problem and after that it was flawless other than the trigger. I am not a trigger snob but this little pistol had trigger sting..it would buzz my trigger finger so bad. I ended up trading it in with a few other pistols to get a 1966 Browning HI Power that ended up having the best trigger of any firearm I own...LOL PS The reason why I got the SCCY it was from Palmetto State and it came with a complete AR15 lower for $250 shipped for free.
The SCCY is cheap and the trigger is absolute garbage. I've put a couple thousand rounds through one and it's never had a single failure, not one. It did come from the factory without a firing pin though.

I'm at 5k in my M17 using norma brass and Blazer aluminum. Only malfunction was induced by thumbing the slide in an awkward position.

Let me know when you reach that round count.
I'm kidding. Lol
I had a hard time deciding between a Sig and Glock, but I ended up with the G19 1 1/2 years ago.

He doesn't say if he sent them back and if the companies fixed the issues thats a big part of making a list like this.
@@pwrplnt1975 Yup, reliability of the company is almost as important as reliability of the gun.
Well, except for expecting a new pistol from a major manu to work out of the box that's good news
I pick mine up in a week I hope it runs cause man 1600 might be cheap for some but that’s expensive for a vet who is living on disability
@@xXSPADEGGWell it’d be nice to not need to send a gun back for it to function properly but maybe I’m crazy.
I had problems with the SCCY but I contacted the company and sent it into SCCY and , after two returns, it finally came back working great! It feeds everything reliably. The turn around times were short, and the staff were friendly.
But Fu** that. I'm not buying a gun just so I can ship it back to the manufacturer to be fixed.

I would just never feel confident with a gun I’ve had to return twice. Good on ya for sticking with them if you like the company and people.
The problem is paying to ship it back to the mfr.... Just bought a RI revolver and it has to go back. 😩😩😩
The high point is a lot like someone’s first girlfriend….first time was fun bud damn did they move up😂
I own 4 P320s and at my gun range we have 3 for rent.
Sig having end users being beta testers is the main issue I have with them today
I’ve got several 229’s that I love. I finally have a reliable 365 that I even waited 2yrs before I purchasing. The 320 I have no desire for over CZ or Glock options
Sig didn’t do themselves any favors in the fuddlore department.
Just a note after I have had it at the range I clean it thoroughly.

what brands are your quality pistols?
The issues with said pistol will reveal itself after a 1000 rounds or less. Also someone mentioned Canik which is another good company. And affordable too.
@@LRRPFco52 Lucky you, I wish I could afford to go through 300rds a day. I agree with your reliability, ergonomics, etc. comment.

Man, THIS is why we subscribe! 😂
The only problem is there are still people that want certain individuals to sit in the back of the bus
That’s poor maintenance period.
that's not the gun's fault
Pretty simple fix. Try checking the screws that mounts it before shooting the gun, like anything else mounted to a gun...I have a M18 with the red dot, 3,000 rounds through it and ZERO issues..
Easily preventable, and I have seen other brands have their optics come flying off thanks to the owners mistake.

The fixed barrel really helps its accuracy.
Just rented a P320 X5 legion at the range today. had to sideline my own pistol and keep buying ammo for the x5, it shot so good. not a single malfunction either. I'm petty sold on buying one for a range toy. stacking a zone hits at 25 yards no problem. awesome piece

No joke though it's extremely snappy for a 9mm though really good build I'd rather use it with .380+P better follow on shots
ive had two. first thing i did was go to town polishing all the internals and spring kits from Mcarbo. were pleasant to shoot and i never had issues.
100 percent agree Granted I am running the CPX-1 instead of the CPX-2 But It's a quality handgun after you give it the TLC it needs

When I worked at a gun range SCCY was by far the most problematic. It was worse than xds, Taurus, or even hipoint. It didn't take me long to stop trying to sugarcoat it and tell the customers their gun blows.
I love how the XDs shoot but don’t own one. Are they poor in reliability?
@@rapid13 I have one of the 45 XD's and I probably put more than 500 rounds through it and can't recall a malfunction. I just looked it up and the model I got is apparently discontinued.

Interesting how often experiences can vary. Dad has a 320 and buddy has a 365. Both have been completely reliable after thousands of rounds.
I have a Raider that runs fine, but don't think mine counts, seeing as I built it into a .458 SOCOM thumper. 😀
When I saw my first $900 gun as a model of 320 fail at least once per mag and then the slide fly downrange after a shot, I gave up on them forever.
Beretta M9 is like a machine. Just chugs along. You might hate the grip. Or the looks. Or whatever. But you cannot hate the reliability.
Sig best products are their 229,226, and 220
M9's had a lot of issues early on.
Damn that sucks. I swear sig sucked someone off for all those contracts they got in the last 5 years
I own the M17 and a P320 chambered in 45 and was issued the M9 back when I was in.
People love to bash Glock 24/7 but I've used one for over 5 years and it has never failed me.
I'm sure he's got a lemon
I've only owned my 608 for a couple of years now with a few hundred rounds through it. No issues and no complaints.
I got mine when they first came out back in 1997. Over 25 years and hundreds of rounds through it and never had an issue.

Gangbanged "spray and pray". Taurus owners "aim and pray", that the damned thing actually works...revolver or pistol.
Revolvers aren't more reliable than semi-autos. That is just a myth spread by old timers afraid of change or learning something new.

The biggest city in the state I live in is ditching the P320 for Glocks.
noooooooooo!!!!!
That’s a good thing. Means they understood Glock is still the king after all 😂
@@WaterZer0 there were a few officers injured by unintentional discharge. I’d still love a 365 XL tho.

I love em.
Interesting about the sig.
I have a gen 1 that had the recall fix applied. Not a single issue. It eats any ammo I feed it. Fascinating. Great vid!
Same here! I have a P320 that is my duty-issue pistol and have had no issues. I also have a Carry and a subcompact. No issues, and they eat everything I put in them.
I find that my Sig P320 is more reliable than my Glock 19.
Same 1 st gen after fix
Hi Chris, I’ve got M17 for five years and so far 0 issues, put through different typography self defense and different grains. 0 FTF & FTE
Same, all my guns have been reliable so far S&W and sig p320 p365.
I’ve had mine for 3 years and put at least 3k rounds through it, only had one hiccup due to not having the mag seated properly.
A single shot shot version, CA320, has been thoroughly tested without any issues but people still claim it’s not drop safe.
Fabrique Nationale. Doesnt know what drop firing is maybe sig can teach us all
I guess I got lucky with my 320. It’s been more reliable than the rest of my several semi auto handguns.

The Sig was suprising, I have 6 320 from a carry to a Legion and have never had any issues. Absolutely love them.
Maybe it's ammo picky, but that's a factor too and he said it. Probably the heavy slide or heavy slide spring is the cause of it. You have to break it in or use powerful or +p ammo. I don't like the P320 anyway though.

Same, got thousands of rounds through my 320 and it's only ever malfunctioned on me once after I hadn't cleaned it in awhile
Same here. Well over 1k rounds through my M17 and maybe 6 malfunctions total, being light strikes.
Do you remember when the first gen 320's came out and they were hammer fired? lol
I agree , sig king 👑
Especially a high point
Same here. Maybe they went down hill post-COVID or something, but my older CPX-2 runs like a champ. The factory trigger takes a little getting used to, but at least it's smooth and consistent
Doesn't seem to like the 32-round ProMag, but that's just for giggles anyway....
My m17 has never jammed or failed to eject so far, but I know it probably will eventually. They really are fun guns to shoot!

Agreed! I had one as my edc and work gun. Never had a issue other than me short stroking the slide, so user error...
The g series Taurus pistols are not on this list for good reason, their excellent. I would even say a G3 and a gx4 are arguably the highest value pistols sold
@@andreawhalen4142 I recently got a gx4. It handles very well for its size.

Blazer brass on my P320 has run flawlessly as well.

I had heard about the malfunctions the prodigy had from my local gun shop because it had just been released. I was told to wait until the second gen model came out. Hopefully Springfield irons out the issues
Just got a Prodigy 4.25" and it ran through 300 rounds without any issues. I think Springfield fixed the issues.
Interesting on the PT22. I owned one of them years ago. It was the version with the fancy rosewood grips. Back then it was pretty reliable.
@@daviddemaree2988 Definitely a PT-22. I bought it years ago.
The only sig I’ve ever owned is a p226 and runs immaculately, heard mixed reviews of p320s and both m17/18.
Between that and the automatic discharges, I'd never own a p320. p226 is definitely a gun on my bucket list.
Can you imagine if one day HiPoint was just like "Here's the 2.0" and literally all of it's flaws are gone? People would lose their minds.
All 1911 styles are sensitive to magazines, feed ramp, and bullet cone. It was originally designed only for .45 ACP ball ammo.
True and the .45 is inherently cursed for not feeding well in general.
JMB stated its best to use ball type 230gr ammunition in 1911s.
No issues with the Prodigy, i love it
Controversially I think the Prodigy would be a decent one considering there is a really fantastic warranty available for it.
