there is no other band living or dead that I have surrendered my soul to...I don't tend to believe in magic, but if its real, it surely finds a home in the music of the good ole Grateful Dead
beautiful man, if you cant slow your nintendo brains down to enjoy the beautiful nuance and feel of the dead then dont listen. I do love Tull and the Beatles are the greatest Euro band ever. But the dead play the American song, were all playing in the band and those who bought the full ticket understand
Donna jean was the new dead for me....she added so much, another dimension to the music...great show, I remember them in 78....capitol, hartford...post great shows great vibe back then
the egypt shows sort of get bashed by a lot of folks, I dont know... I find them to be a real treat. the logistics involved with pulling this whole gig off in the first place would drive any sane person to dose.
@@lisica8458 I am too lol difference of opinions. To each their own! To me, any of Bob’s slide works never does it for me. I’m more of a glassy-smooth slide fan like Derek Trucks (he’s the best player there’s ever been on the earth) and Duane Allman (a close 2nd to Derek). Brass/metal slides sound grating to my ears. I will concede that this is about the best I’ve ever heard bobby play slide but I would rather hear Jerry on pedal steel any day.
I love Donna I just love her harmonies she's always right on just enough and never too much plus she is beautiful who is she with in the band I never knew it must have been Bob Weir. It could have been Jerry right not that it matters Jerry was such a. Good guy. They were all great
@Lawlodile i haven't liked her since the first time she opened her delicate little mouth. but, i'm just jealous of her proximity to the band. which i enjoyed a short while myself. she sings hums and screeches like she's entitled to. guess she was though
what did they do to jerrys hair in this? its too mullety for how I like to see him look. i don't recall this exact hair do ever before. I've seen him do piggie tails but this? really ???
Not to be rude but Jethro Tull wasnt a guy and even if he ever was I would never use the adjective " good guy" to describe the band..I also would stay clear of cpomparing the beatles tull and the dead whats the point?
oh sorry, but, I'm a woman who has been with Bobby Weir. just so you know - in 1969. got in on the ground floor! and that right there is the reason I can have any opinion I want to!
This is the greatest band of all time
Who are the Grateful Dead and why are they following Me !?!? ✌💟+😁 To All !!
Hey Now!
I was gonna leave a .ain't comment, but it woulda been 70..hi stranger🤟🌲🔥🙏🤙🎧🎛🤪🍻

Indubitably
I saw my first Dead show in 78 Changed my life forever....... I'm so Grateful 😊
My name is Marty. I got on the bus when the Grateful Dead played their first concert I Louisville Kentucky on December 7, 1968 at Bellarmine College.
Boy this Egypt show looks really special. Always suspected it would be. Gotta get that dvd! Thanks for the upload!

I bought Full ticket gave it to a stranger and snuck in !!! 😎 Shh don't tell anyone ✌
Very well stated, sir.
Jerry Garcia LOVED to play a ballad now and then, and I enjoy this one very much.
God Bless your aunt.
My aunt is a "dead head". She saw these guys over 90 times, to her recollection. Her recollection ain't too good after THAT many Dead shows ;)
Loving PHIL in the mix.. NICE!!
was just thinking the same....
thanks for posting this great dead song....one of my favorites!!! and you are right it is like magic!
The dead love to trip! What a glorious place to do it,to cool.
Donna jean was the new dead for me....she added so much, another dimension to the music...great show, I remember them in 78....capitol, hartford...post great shows great vibe back then
Lies
Loving Jerry trying to wear pony tails!!!
They're called "pigtails."
the egypt shows sort of get bashed by a lot of folks, I dont know... I find them to be a real treat. the logistics involved with pulling this whole gig off in the first place would drive any sane person to dose.
This is great!
Ah memories!
Sublime
Great tune and twirling hippie chicks too!
Really like the subtlety of Bob's slide work here; I think I prefer it over Jerry's pedal steel.
Never! While his slide playing is solid here, Jerry's pedal steel playing was leagues better.
@@STSGuitar16 I'm not talking about who the better instrumentalist is; I'm referring to the choice of instrument and the arrangement of the song.

One After 909 is a great song! There is no bad Beatles.
Top notch stuff

+Karin Spears I think the candyman paid hi ma visit earlier

She was "with' her husband Keith who is playing piano
John Holland Kieth Godchaux was her husband. He played the grand piano.
@@paulepperson3536 lmao
She was plooking Weir when her husband was smacking. Ramrod says; word has it . Wouldn't surprise me. I never thought she fit with the band at all
She was always right on? That might be debatable lol
Nice easy, smooth beat..😏👍
If you were there in 78' you knew where the fuck it was at.
looks like a beautiful evening.
4:08-4:20 red hot string of notes on Jerry's lead.
@ 4:11 my face melted! 🤘🏻
@3:52 for me brother, dripped from my eyes and the rest melted down into my chest
Not THAT Memphis y’all!
Can you not see the pyramid spinning?
Some people in the audience seemed to have "done the pot."
December151791 That would probably be the healthiest thing they took
LOL Jerry in pigtails
@Lawlodile i haven't liked her since the first time she opened her delicate little mouth. but, i'm just jealous of her proximity to the band. which i enjoyed a short while myself.
she sings hums and screeches like she's entitled to. guess she was though
Keith looking like Weekend at Bernies
The pigtails..in honor of Pig I assume. RIP, all.
🍭🍭🍭🍭
That was something! Lol
I kinda wonder who the audience is at this show? Ex-pats only?
what did they do to jerrys hair in this? its too mullety for how I like to see him look. i don't recall this exact hair do ever before. I've seen him do piggie tails but this? really ???
Extreme heat.
JER HAS PIGPEN TAILS. LOVE
i wonder if donna has long armpit hair
who are these guys ?
tom hogan The Grateful Dead. They weren't the best at what they did, they were the only ones who did what they did.
They were the only ones that did what they did.
Not to be rude but Jethro Tull wasnt a guy and even if he ever was I would never use the adjective " good guy" to describe the band..I also would stay clear of cpomparing the beatles tull and the dead whats the point?
Jethro Tull is not a guy, Ian Anderson is a musician in the band Jethro Tull....
Actually - Jethro Tull was a guy but from some time before the band - invented some farm implement I believe
I Iike that guy Led Zeppelin better he is a great guitarist, once saw him play a 2 neck guitar!
keith just gahn. asleep at the wheel. dead in less than 2 years. phew.
charlie .something Not from drugs though
What a waste. Heck of a musician but clinical depression will get you eventually if left untreated or acknowledged.
I wish Donna wasn't there!
Not me, not a fan.
oh sorry, but, I'm a woman who has been with Bobby Weir. just so you know - in 1969. got in on the ground floor! and that right there is the reason I can have any opinion I want to!
what does that have to do with Donna? I was before her time.
+sunshinenblues really?

WHAT??? You mean this is Egypt, like, Egypt in Africa???? Man, what a disgrace this World has become ...
Shut the fuck up
