Catman, you’re content continues to entertain and also inspires me to give new methods a try. I agree: that climbing sticks with more foot room are an advantage; and so are standoffs that dig into the bark. Aiders must be a huge advantage; but after starting the season with an aider I reverted to carrying four standard length sticks. I always know that I have a stable foothold. For the hunting neophytes out there: If you’re young tall and lanky like Catman you should go for it! If you’re short, stocky and over 60 - still challenge yourself and get after it!
Good review brotha, kinda like em. I think a lot of guys forget just how heavy and bulky all the old hunting equipment used to be. Good luck the rest of your season bud
These almost seem like a bit of a knock off of the heliums but better construction and more thought into making them all the way around. Looking forward to trying mine out when they come in. I'd love to see you do a review on them as you have all sorts of great reviews on your channel.
@@PBAdventures146 I agree about the SKELETOR'S looking somewhat like a knockoff of the Helium's but that they're very well thought out on some possible improvements. I'd really like to get my hands on a set of these and do a review. Maybe someday. ???
@@PBAdventures146 that’s because the helium’s are a knock of of a different stick they is discontinued can’t remember the name but iv heard people talk about them both sticks are based of the original one that’s discontinued I believe
I think you sold me on these sticks. I was looking at lone wolf, but everything is so expensive and weighing all the pros and cons is difficult. I have the original long sticks from lone wolf, and they are fine for my hang on stand, but I'm going with the saddle this year, and I don't want to carry too much bulky stuff. I like the cleat and seems like they are solid for a fair price. Thanks and good luck this season.
Looks like a real nice stick. I run the tetherd one sticks but like you said they are kinda pricey. I think they are worth it if you don't mind spending that much but these sticks are a good second choice if a person doesn't want to spend that much on the tetherd one sticks. Thank Catman!
Finally Found You and subscribed I just got the helium's at the beginning of the season I was going to order these two days ago but they're on a backlog so I might wait a couple months everybody's talking about the feet pegs going out but they don't seem to be that much anyways great review we speak American here I loved it
Question for ya Catma, how does that lineman rope/tether keep you from falling straight down the tree should you lose your footing? I'm thinking of making the switch to the sticks and saddle setup, I sure would feel better about it if I had someone to show me how it's done. Great review, thank you for taking the time!
If you fall, the lineman rope will eventually find some real estate on the tree and bite down, pulling you into the tree. It’s violent and quite unpleasant, but it will keep you from falling all the way down.
ua-cam.com/video/Z6JG9pfylxQ/v-deo.html Here’s a video of an arborist climbing on spikes, he actually demonstrates what the lineman belt does at some point in the video. Fast forward to it and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
Most people use aiders on any sticks that are run and gun type sticks. 15' to 20' is plenty high enough. I've killed more deer than I can keep track of at 15' high. I hardly ever go higher unless I'm trying to get above a branch or a certain spot on tree that is a good opening for my body to fit without cutting branches. I hunt public land and follow the rules and don't cut branches. Unlike some guys out there that cut shooting lanes and everything. I think you would like a stick like this if you make or buy a one step aider on each stick. I can get 20' foot with mine. Good luck hunting.
I ordered some this afternoon. I didn't see them being sold out! I hope not. It did say first 1,000 orders guarenteed to arrive by Christmas. If they already sold 1,000 orders it looks like it's going to be a good Christmas for Tethrd Nation LOL
Lol. "Available on backorder" is what the web site now says.🙄 And for the life of me I don't understand why they wouldnt offer the option to purchase them individually... 3 is more than enough.
@@drewsroo my receipt says "orders made before 11/30 are guaranteed to arrive before Christmas.. after that you're screwed" lol.. actually it says it's not guaranteed by Christmas after 11/30 🤷
Did you take a sponsorship from Tethrd? Congratulations to you if you did. I don’t expect you to answer this but I’m guessing that’s why you got away from the C-1’s?
They're way way way too heavy IMHO... They weight about the same as the OG Lone Wolf 3 step sticks that will get you higher per stick for about the same weight.
I own the OG lone Wolf sticks. First set of sticks I bought. There is no comparison, the Skeletors weigh a lot less and are a whole lot easier to pack, set up, and climb with.
@@seregill13 Because you're failing to consider the total weight vs total height ratio. There are many other sticks on the market that will get you just as high for far less weight to haul.
@@CatmanOutdoors Sure, but you need 4 Skeletors to get as high as 3 LW sticks. So in TOTAL package weight, the Skeletors lose. Yea, stick vs stick, the Skeletor may weigh less. But when you start to measure how much weight you have to haul to get to the same height, the Skeletors do not do well. It fine if you want to like them. More power to you. But in weight vs height ratio, they're poor performers.
I watched this video about 3 weeks ago and about a week ago I tried finding it to show my buddy and it was gone! Glad to see it’s back catman!

I ordered some and just now saw your video. I think I made a good purchase according to what I saw in your video. Thanks for sharing!
I know Greg used to run the leverage sticks and this resembles them a lot.
Those look like great sticks! I’ve been happy with my Helium’s but I may have to give the SKELETOR’s a try.
I have the Helium's as well. They're a bit on the heavy side, but very sturdy.

Great review Catman - I can believe you actually use them (unlike so many reviews). He-Man approved!
Looks like an upgraded Hawk helium. Can’t wait to try them out next season
Yeah this sold me, I’ve been using Hawk Heliums for awhile and they don’t bite so good lol
Thanks for the review. I use the shikars and love them but purchased these to give em a try for possibly a cheaper back up set.
"we speak American here" well said.
Didn’t realize American was a language? Must of missed that in “ENGLISH” class. 🤣
Considering American is not a language nor a country....

Interesting. Like a more refined Hawk Helium. I'm running 3 20" Heliums with a 18" aider and a woven daisy chain.
Just ordered mine!
Thanks Jon. Just purchased a new set of lwcg sticks. May have to sell them and try these. Do you run a one step aider on the bottom?
If there’s a way, can you demonstrate how to use this with a versa strap?
Can't wait to try them out
My favorite part is that they are impossible to lose. You can literally throw one into the forest and it will mysteriously appear back in the stack.
Were you climbing a tree or smoking some?

What happened to those sticks with the retractable aiders? Those looked like the ticket.

Nice design! Without aider u prob can only get to 15'. Tried hawk short sticks took back bcuz couldn't get high enuf
