There’s a similar sort of display near my town hall… except it actually has pictures of the town from the 1800s onwards and is a general celebration of its actual history. I do disagree with the statement that conservative do not create identity collectives. Within the US, being evangelical is often linked to a conservative political leaning, and can be pushed in religion ('can' because while some churches do, many others most certainly do not push politics). I would say that the left simply has more of a stage/voice for identity collectives that they believe belong to them at this time.
I suspect it's moreso that progressives believe in collectivist theory, while conservatives in America are fundamentally individualist, so when conservatives collectivise, it's a different context

I only recently moved to England for University from North Wales. Im now in Manchester and I'll just say that my current experience of England is Blade Runner LA. I miss Wales, it is actually like still being in Britain

I lack the funds to move. I live in Wolverhampton. its a run down shit whole that's full of dilapidated buildings and empty shops. I feel like I've stepped into a ghost town in my home city center. all the money in the west Midlands is spent on Birmingham and the rest of us are just left to fall to bits. when I have the money I'm leaving and not looking back. seeing the state of the city I grew up in makes me feel nothing but misery

As in the original culture of the English is slowly getting replaced within the town. The town is dying to multiculturalism. "Take back their country" means pretty much exactly what it sounds like. England is for the native population of England and not the hundreds of thousands of migrants coming yearly and Bing housed in villages and towns where they have no right to be. It will eventually destroy the culture, safety, and English way of life. Now, to an outsider, the Tory conservatives seem to be ineffective and not really conservative as they did nothing to stop the mass immigration of people into England. A genuine conservative government would be turning all the boats around and deporting people back to their home countries instead of housing them in hotels, giving them money, and ignoring their crimes.

We have the Salvation Army in UK too - there's literally 2 salvation army buildings within 20 minutes walk of where Chick-fil-A was. It was very frustrating.

There is a Spanish Civil War memorial in Glasgow also, my friend from Spain was astonished to find a memorial to the U.K citizens who gave thier lives for republican Spain. As you are unlikely to find any in Spain itself.
Especially to foreign volunteers given how many atrocities they committed and their treatment of (especially female) civilians. The feelings were such that they were often just shot on capture during the civil war.

You're grossly misrepresenting the Spanish Civil War though. The Communists weren't a monolith of "Stalinists", there were Anarchists and more moderate sodalists, and the Fascists were only slightly less fractured too. Catholic Nationlists, Fascists, weird National Syndclists etc..
And you didn't mention the Communists turning on the anarchists and the International Brigade.
Maybe the memorial is ironic, in memory of all the foreign volunteers killed by the communists.
