The Max Richter feels more "alive," organic, intimate. Great video!

Yes, I really enjoy the character that they captured here. This piano forces you to think differently, where constraints are gateways to be more creative. Thanks for watching.

Seriously good stuff here. Ever since his music on The Leftovers and his piano work on it, I've wanted to emulate that kind of sound. This is perfect and your work here with it is outstanding. Thank you.

    Hello sir!
Thank you so much for your video.
I must say that I'm quite bored of people just demonstrating new virtual instruments in general. Your case..., totally different. You're an excelent pianist, love that you know how to PLAY each instrument the way it's supposed to, it's not just technical show off, mindless virtuosity, which I do love, but it has its place.
I wanted to ask you if you've got any clue about how the piano can sound that way? Is that a hammer thing? Or it's just the way it was played/recorded? It just sounds smoother and softer...!! That's sooo soothing!
I'm eagger to buy this piano too, since it's NKS compatible. I am completely blind and that means that I can use this piano with the Komplete Kontrol voice over.
Thanks so much for your videos, you also seem so kind, besides a great piano player.
Greetings from the beautiful Romania in eastern Europe!God bless, May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you!

Hello my friend, thank you so much for your very kind and encouraging words. So the Max Richter piano was sampled in such a way that only those softer dynamic layers were recorded giving it that very specific tonal quality as Max played for these recordings to give us a sense of his particular feel for this color and style.
That being said you have to approach this piano right at the start knowing that you are not going to go super loud and so you adjust your playing with that in mind and lean into that softer space.
Enjoy discovering this beautiful instrument and thanks again for watching. Joyfully yours!

t does not sound as good as the video suggests. I bought this piano. Dull and lifeless. Don't buy it. Also, my emails are never answered. Lousy service

Jay, sorry you are having issues. One thing to try is adjusting the velocity scaling and the dynamic control on the piano. This piano does not have the higher dynamic range and is the best suited for I guess more subdued or pensive types of arranging. It is definitely what I would call a character piano in that it is designed for a very specific sound or mood.
I am not doing anything to alter the sound of the piano in any way as far as additional EQ, compression, etc.. Let me know if there is a specific issue you are having and I will be glad to help if I can. Thanks for watching.
