This was my childhood. Memphis Wrestling!
Those two teams had some of the best matches in the history of wrestling.
The Moondogs and the Fabulous Ones had a great, great feud back then.
God the Glory Days of the NWA i miss them so much ...Classic Memphis war...ThankYou
Better than any wwe match
I remember going to the mid South Coliseum on Monday nights to watch these matches and I am here to tell you these were some of the most violent matches that you could ever pay to see! WWE has nothing absolutely nothing on what wrestling used to be about back in the day. Today it's a lot of sports entertainment and foolishness till the point that they get hurt trying to perform these dunce than to just go in there and wrestle. I miss these days!
Lance Russel was so good at selling. Never forget a Jerry Lawler match against Terry Funk and he said in regard to Lawler "better that than another broken leg."
This is why the Fabulous Ones got over. The women loved them because of how they looked. The guys loved them because they were tough as nails and could go toe-to-toe with someone as rough and tumble as the Moondogs.
Stan Lane went on to NWA/WCW as "Sweet Stan" in the tag team "Midnight Express" and later became a WWF interviewer.
Uh yes. We ALL know.
Anything went in this match
Note how the ring announcer's table here doesn't collapse for a cheesy effect.
Memphis heat
Try to reproduce this Vincent
Now y'all know where ECW came from
Actually numb net's jerrett was tied to McMahon
this was back when i thought rassling was real
It was definitely more real back in the day opposed to this cartoon foolishness we watch call WWE
You mean it's not?
Bad ass ol sku
Steve Keirn indeed was Skinner.
They were mean & it was funny to see the "pretty boys" get beat up!
Moondog get the tables!! 3:28
The beginning of Vince McMahon destroying wrestling....How do u have the Moondogs as basic jobbers....smh....These guys should have been midcarders much like the Kansas Jayhawks were in the NWA.....
any steve keirn VS stan lane matches when they were fueding back in '80-'81?
I would love to see those
Stan gets on the house mike and says "who's got the bones now?" The next week the Moondogs are back in the studio with the bones.......the Fabs never have them again. That's the moment I realized it was all an act.
I didn't quit watching. In fact I became an even bigger fan. But the "believing" days were over for me.
Steve Dicus good ole days
There were a couple of explanations without ruining kayfabe. 1. Matchmaker Eddie Marlin intervened after the show and asked The Fabs to give The Moondogs back their bones by next TV taping like good babyfaces. 2. The Moondogs killed something else and those were different bones they were carrying.
To the memories...
@@chadschaefer5510 Hahaha...Now that's a good explanation. There might be another slight explanation without ruining kayfabe. This was in Memphis. The territory basically ran every night of the week. So it's likely these matches played out in Evansville, Louisville, Jackson, or Nashville in a way that somewhere along that circuit the Moondoogs got their bones back. Just a thought...🤔
I remember seeing this. Loved to see "The Fabulous Ones" get their butts kicked!
Boo
And just imagine I thought the Moondogs were just WWE jobbers.
Wow. The constant shrieks from the women in the audience sells me. I want to pay to see the rematch of this...
One thing about Memphis wrestling a lot of long blond hair.
