It was so good to be back in Max's shoes and I love her little quirky comments she makes in her mind when looking at things which I never realised I missed in the non-Max titles until now. I find it really interesting how the devs picked the power the game should revolve around before ever thinking about Max being the protagonist. It's super realistic though how Chloe and Max would have split up in the Chloe is alive choice since if you go through the journal and texts, you learn that Chloe started to get paranoid about Max rewinding every single conversation they have together in order to have conversations go her way. It's also worth pointing out that in the comics Max already has this timeline hopping ability while she's still with Chloe so the comic (or this game) feels like a different route in a way.
So glad you guys are doing these spoiler modes for Life is Strange! I'm only about an hour into Chapter 1 but I'm really enjoying it, like meeting up with old friends and everything being the same as when you left off. Will dig into these once I roll credits! L&R!
I entered spoiler-mode and really enjoyed a fun and chill podcast. Never really played the games but sounds interesting. Look forward to the upcoming videos
Originally, I saved Arcadia Bay because I didn't like Chloe. After playing Before the Storm, I felt sorry for Chloe so I chose saving her in Double Exposure.
So im just going to express my feelings. First of all im happy people are enjoying the game and I will not be attacking anyone for their opinion because they are all valid! For me i'm struggling a lot with this game. My issue is with clearly the developer wanted Max but I wish they would've just picked the one ending they clearly liked the best, the one where Chloe died. I don't like how they mischaracterized Chloe here, having her leave Max over a letter and insinuating she went up to meet with Max's bully? I don't mind them separating but I felt it was very out of character how they went about it. I'm not even the biggest pricefield shipper but I think their bond and relationship is a lot more important to explore rather than to just shove into texts and call it a day. Especially how integral that final choice was for both of them..we literally sacrificed an entire town..this is not something two people can just separate from. Chloe as a character wanted love, she wanted to not be alone and had an intense fear of being abandoned her leaving Max because she is a "free spirit" just doesn't sit right. Chloe and Max regardless of how they feel are pretty much bonded by tragedy and have nobody else. They can wrestle with that, but why can't we see it? As fans I don't think it's wrong to ask that. I get this is the way it was for D9 because they wanted to continue with max, but I felt as a player who had a huge connection to Chloe I didn't think it was given the proper resolution and part of the reason why I wasn't really excited for this direction for the series as a whole. TBH I felt like I was constantly being punished by deck nine for my choice idk if they felt that way but that's how the game made me feel. Happy you had fun guys and to see Elyse again! I hope the ending pans out well. I do love this franchise and want it to really be the best it can be! L&R ❤
You'd think, but time does change people. I remember at my 10 year high school reunion some of the friendliest people were people that I thought didn't like me growing up. Sometimes people just need to get out on their own to get away from their insecurities (or crappy parents.) -Bloodworth
First time I'm listening to one of these having not played a game. I love all of the other games but I have not liked what I've heard about this one and the marketing did nothing for me. Maybe hearing what you guys say will sway my view, but if I do play this one it seems like I'll be waiting for it to either be deeply discounted or on PS+ or Game Pass.
my only problem with the first 2 chapters is they tried so hard to force you into suspecting every character. I know it's a murder mystery but they just made everyone too sketch it kind of takes the intrigue off.
Pissing off at least half of the original game's fanbase in the first chapter of your sequel... THAT'S A BOLD STRATEGY, DECK NINE. LET'S SEE IF IT PAYS OFF FOR YOU
If it had been a Max & Chloe game, that would invalidate the choice players made at the end of the original Life is Strange and canonize one choice over the other, so that would have been much worse. Alternatively, they could have come up with another reason for Chloe to be out of town, but that could impact potential romantic interactions, etc. You'd also need more branches to address the secondary layer of whether Max and Chloe are together as a romantic couple or if a player saw them as best friends. I get people wishing there was a happily ever after scenario there, but if they were going to do a Max game at all, they had to find a way to address Chloe's absence, and I think this is a grounded and understandable way to go about it. -Bloodworth
“that would have been much worse” You’re wrong blood but if that’s the conclusion you’ve come to then it is what it is. They fucked up and all the “how could they really do it” excuses are worthless to make.
@@EasyAlliesThey should’ve just had Chloe off-screen in a long-distance relationship for some reason. You obviously can’t dedicate the resources to putting her in the game full-time if she’s dead for half the audience. I just wish the game had somehow also found a way to address the people who maybe saved Chloe but DIDN’T romance her.
What is wrong with the guy in the middle ? Dude won't stop twitching/moving, eyes bulging out his skull. Needs to lay off whatever chemicals he is overindulging in.
Its Elyse, she's inevitable.
