Thank you guys for doing these deep dives. So many things I missed that add so much to the experience! Now onto Chapter 4!
I come for the Elyse, I stay for the Willems
Having finished the game, the Alderman thing just feels so out of place and out of nowhere. It feels like a weird narrative choice that only exists to try and throw you off
It felt to me like an afterthought "oh the police would be investigating huh, let's do something with that" to me. If it ever does payoff to something more long term, fair enough, but way undercooked in Double Exposure
@@brspies undercooked is just the way to describe this game in general
I think it only exists to set the "danger" of touching your other self, so later when Max faces "herself" there's an excuse for her not to just tackle her.
Elyse with the FIELD NOTES limited I see you dawg
It's wild to me how many people went for Vinh even if it is still a minority. I wish the Alderman plot line had been followed up at all because it seems like something that should have big consequences.
Love these videos. I am feeling the vibes.
This definitely felt like the lowest point in terms of writing in the game. Alderman feels wildly underbaked as a character or plot thread at this point in the story. The one thing I like is that he gives us an outsider's perspective of how shocking Max's current powers are, when he talks about the telescope. I guess its always a fun little reminder that normal people and systems e.g. law enforcement have no rational way to deal with powers like these.
Oh and to Huber's point @5:45, totally thought/hoped for half a second that Alderman was some sort of FBC-equivalent agent. Feels like something there's room for in this universe.
The lowest point is far and away everything that happens in chapter 4 and 5.
Also very strongly disagree with all their takes on Vinh. If you let Max connect with him even the slightest he ends up being a really interesting, somewhat sad/sweet character. Possibly my favorite character in the game (between him or Reggie maybe). I'll bet its a case of the writing reflecting your choice, you/Max are either into it or not and the writing changes to kind of exaggerate that maybe?
Vinh stan for life.
