Andrew has already built a weapon of a gtr and then starts the video with "things are getting serious".... That GTR is a a true Godzilla, the power/torque numbers, the power curve, the gearbox and the fact that it not a garage queen but thrashed is awesome. I'm happy and excited for the car and Andrew and a little bit jealous (the good kind). great job and video as always.
I cant believe that power curve on the G45. It spools quicker than my lame old trust t517z's.. and makes like 800hp more lol. New technology turbos are awesome.
Love the way Conn tunes. That linear power delivery is so good. He tuned my BNR34 to 700hp and when Boost hits it doesnt bake the tyres. Just grab and go 👍🏼👍🏼
Wooooooooowwwww - what a fabulous video. You could have split this video up into 4 or 5 separate videos if you wanted to, but it's bloody awesome to see it all in one go. Congrats on creating exactly what you set out to achieve!
How can you not be blown away by this video !?! This R32 GT-R journey has been, well, INSANE ! And This Is Godzilla in 2022 with all the state of the art warfare🤘🏼❤️👊🏻
Turbo selection is a pain in the arse to figure out. It's just one of those things you have to experiment with to find what you like. Sometimes you get surprised.
So this is the car that got me hooked on this channel from the other side of the world (Scotland) so glad to see it back on the channel making ridiculous power👍🏼
On a public road can't go crazy little squirt. If that little squirt isn't a dollar twenty I'm a Dutchman. Over the next few years and few million subscribers you will do some fabulous things with a wide array of Datsuns thank you for your service.
Excellent video! I was so excited to see this. It's very impressive that you haven't lost much response going from G35 to G45. Looks like a 3.2L with a G45-1500 is a perfect street combo
This is so sick! I’ve been following this build for YEARS! The fact that you’ve come this far, so quick is so inspiring! You’ve got exactly what I want in a “street” GTR! I’m building a 2.8 Nitto stroker for my 33 GTR and hoping for 800whp. Which G series turbo do you guys recommend? I was thinking G35, but with the response shown on this, maybe G40?
imagine this build going to 6 seconds.. over 10 years of development and youtube creating a GTR from 300hp to 2000hp.. the content is so good especially when your building your own car
All I say is well done Andrew you have the ultimate gtr. Enjoy mate you deserve it your always open and honest about everything and there is a lot to be said for that.
Great content here :) I like how "that escalated quickly" Feb2022 - New Garrett G40 Turbos - We will put it and test in our GT-R to see the gains over G35-1050...June2022 Garrett G45 Turbo Install/Tune/Test :)
A pleasure to watch this develop over the years Andrew. A DBW throttle will be another level again for drivability (throttle lifts/blips and partial throttle torque managment). Looking forward to seeing it
I remember driving a 600hp Supra back in 1999 when I worked at a dyno shop. It was completely mental. No torque down low. All or nothing type of thing. Wheel spin central. A HQ Big block with 400hp was actually faster but scary for dynamics reasons. I can completely relate. Had lots to do in the last 20 years with STI and Evo rally cars. Driveability is key vs absolute HP.
@25:38 as you said for drag racing that’s all about living in higher rpm but for track car I’m pretty sure that 100nm more torque down Low makes good difference when coming out of a corner and rpm drops close to 3500-4000 rpm…
Weapon!! big turbo technology has certainly come a long way. Great video Andrew. Seriously considering the G40 for my 1jz with a th400. Rumor has it it spools as fast as a GTX3584RS
Been watching for years I purchased my r33 gtst rb30/25 because of you I know it’s rwd I daily it aswell now I wanna make it a weekender it only makes just under 600hp to the hubs and makes me wanna 3.2liter it now and get the g45 and make more power and get it tuned by crd 🇦🇺🤟
Love it and regret not picking up a blown up r32gtr 20 years ago for 16k on Black Friday had cash and trailer booked but listened to the ex and just didn’t… regrets
@@MotiveVideo haha always scares that's why I never look back once I order anything. I've been following your content for years always continues to impress every video!
With all these new turbos having anti surge housings do we still need a blow off valve. Would you guys be able to do some comparison test with and without bov using the turbo shaft speed sensor?
if you want to go rb30/32 in an R32/33 you basically have to switch to sequential or at least getrag tho, havent you? The extra torque has to kill dem 5speeds even quicker
I have a 2.8 with vcam, i dont have a big turbo like this car but it does have really good low end/off boost power for street driving. Vcam is a good compromise if you dont want to go 3.2.
Its good you talk about the back pressure side of things. That kind of info isn't easy to come by. My own street car setup ( not GTR ) is at a 1.22:1 ratio. Great Content as per usual.
Thats schmick Love the mentality its a 90s 1000hp car ... if you can afford it then you can afford a daily. Kinda feel the camo needed a little bit more orange in it to match the other motive garage cars? And that shaking haltec dash mount f's my OCD. Or can't be helped due to how much everything just shakes the car around?
So you’re telling me that the down low is hardly a significant difference between the G35 & G45?! I’m sold. Ditching my G35-1050 and getting the G45/G42 turbo.
Very Nice Video! comparing two of the most common gtr owner “types” More on the flapper valve??? Many are using this..Many could be doin damage not “adjusting the fuel” more detail on what happens too the tune? more on back pressure difference?
Such a shame that Race Wars isnt on in Albany anymore as it would've been great to see your car out on the runway. That thing hooks up and runs as straight as an arrow.

This has officially become the best gtr imo. Reliability and functionality is ridiculous, the power curve you have is genius
I cant believe that power curve on the G45. It spools quicker than my lame old trust t517z's.. and makes like 800hp more lol.

G35-1050 is perfect for 800
G40 more like 900-950
Driving around normally and testing actual real world drive ability to show us is the real quality content!!
Keep up the exception work team 👌👌
Great on you for putting out this vid at full length and not splitting it up.
All I gotta say is absolutely amazing Andrew.
Fantastic video! I love the technical breakdowns, they are applicable to many turbo cars.

What a great video Andrew! Very informative. No one in the world builds them like the Aussies
I'm digging the longer videos
Dream GTR right there.
Absolutely great video. A part of me wants it to be more comprehensive but it’s the same part that just wants more content haha
Stunning build, perfect skyline for street and track
Wow, to turn up an run a 9.8.

well done, good numbers .. these new turbos are impressive
Now that's A nicely built Gtr
It’s artwork the welds and pipe work looks like original sick
Would be interesting for you to look at the Garret boost advisor and compare to your result and see if its close or not.
No ones ever done that.
43:15 I used to daily a jza80 6spd with an old school bush bearing GT4708, 280/11.48mm cams and an os giken r4c quad plate. And i fucking loved it :)
Fantastic this looks amazing, congratulations on joining the 1000HP club.
I will say, I am pretty impressed Andrew, the drive pressure ratio is pretty darn good too. Well done !!!!
I love the attention to linearity too, that is so critical IMO.
Fricken awesome Andrew! That was soo easy :) Can't wait to see the testing videos as I've been so keen to see the car more regularly.
Well done Andrew. Smiles per gallon
proper informative and a great comparison. Thanks for actually doing it right
Great review mate, was interesting to see the difference between the 2 turbos, thought the down low would be much different
So did we!
Think going back to twin scroll helped a lot with the response
Andrew you have overlooked the most important mod to your GT-R, a giant "holy shit" handle firmly mounted to the dash for your passenger's

"There's a tunnel up here"
*winds down window*
Listen to the sound of my people

If its the 62mm g40-900 yes, the 1150 is lazy unfortunately.

That Haltech dash needs attaching to something solid on the steering column - it's flopping about like a cock in a sock at the moment!
I could be wrong, but I suspect Andrew might have noticed that as well while driving the car.

T4 twin scroll is a GREAT idea for street. Nice. Also should be a lot more people putting twin scrolls on SR20 cars. It's night and day.
Good result mate. Did you expect the result based on the given compressor map for the turbo?
Great vid it’s unreal how responsive it is great job love the car mate
Great video, grats on the 1000!
Seeing our race back in the days in the video. Think we should do a rematch haha
Nothing looks scary like a 1000+ hp gtr title
Let’s discuss the actual new part on this car, he finally has a factory washer button on his dash 👍🏾
Finally someone spotted it! I told the team someone will spot it

Also me - Flicks on Motive 1000hp video
Also also me - depression
Haha nice work
That is mental Andrew! 👌👌 proper dream GTR!
Do you back off between the 1st and 2nd shift? 2/3, 3/4 seem to get into gear quicker
Use clutch 1-2
Flat shift the rest
