I have two pair of 21 oz, a 555 and a 777, and a black overdye work jacket that they released last spring. Love the open, ropy texture and the slow fading. Extremely comfortable for what they are, and great on a motorcycle where speedy riding can make lower weight jeans flap like a flag and can be really annoying.

Boy, for over $350 jean, Ironheart REALLY need to update the pocket using thicker material like canvas - start with the heavy denim jeans, no clue why only the pocket fell out when you are working or riding motorbike
Ive been wearing IH since 2010. I’ve never had a pocket bag blow out. I’m not sure what’s different about mine. I have had my tape measure clip blow the top of the out of other brands. But I’ve been very lucky with my Iron Hearts.
In comparison to my midweight to heavyweight PBJ and Momotaro denim, the 21oz IH were the most comfortable right out the gate. That loose weave really impressed me for the weight
Iron Heart: High-level construction, lined pockets, hidden rivet, etc., combined with a more homogeneous denim that is even comfy at 21oz. Samurai, Pure Blue Japan, The Strike Gold.: Less technical in terms of construction, concentrate more on special denim texture and dying procedures. @@tyarnold4088 I´ll try and put it differently: IH manages to deliver a product that just feels extremely good. Given the large variety of shapes of jeans, everyone should find their best fit (777 for me), the construction is impeccable, which means to me that the jeans are only getting better over time with wear and are very durable. In comparison, as much as I dig the slubby, natural indigo hank-dyed PBJ I own, it does not have all the above-mentioned properties (and remember, it cost double the IH). It doesn´t feel like home and clearly is not as durable. Hence, when I chose to go for one jeans for three months, it was the 777-IB in 21oz. Just my 2cents. I am sure ONI are terrific jeans and also that you will appreciate a pair of IH jeans.
My question is what is the appropriate inseam length to get? Cuff or no cuff. 6’ tall but more torso then legs with a 30’’ inseam. Should I go my true to size inseam or 32 or 34 to cuff or stack the leg?
I have IH shirts but yet to try their jeans. I do have other selvedge jeans, and was not aware of the pocket bag issue. Now that I have my sizes dialed in better I will be trying their jeans. Just always like to try them on first and no stores near me. But, yes I am an Iron Heart lifer.

IH jeans are tighter woven so they are more resistant to blow-outs and general wear and tear. I've been wearing my competition pair for about 100 days and I'm already noticing a significant blowout in the thigh area (I, too, have thicc meaty thighs). Samurai 25oz is more so a "pretty boy" 25oz denim as opposed to the "tough guy" 25oz Iron Heart denim. I go mountain biking on weekends and my IH25oz jeans can take a beating after I've fallen off my bike and slid on the gravel, but I doubt that the more artisanal Samurai 25oz would shred like tissue paper. thanks for the video, it is a clear help in my search for the fitting cut 🙂 how do they handle the different sizes? should you get them 2 numbers wider? do they shrink over time?
Do you go true to size on the 777’s or size down? I just bought my first pair and sized down based on iron heart’s recommendations and they are the most uncomfortable jeans I’ve ever worn not sure if sizing down was the right move
OK, I wish you said the price more somewhere in there, but after checking a website that I assume is correct, they are starting price about 300 bucks, which is way more than I'll spend on pair of jeans any time soon.

I disagree with the pocket bags wearing out too soon. I've the 14 oz, 18 oz and the 21 oz and found the pockets are all quite substantially build. Unless you carry a heavy bunch of keys all the time in your pockets I just don't see how it could prematurely worn out.
it seems like iron heart is super popular in US and western countries, but it doesn't seem at all popular in japan or east asia? why is that? do they cater to a western audience mainly with a more western fit or design?
I totally REGRET not buying a pair from a shop that was i. sydney years ago when i was living there. As time went on, i needed a new pair of jeans & wanted to get a pair of Iron Hearts, & sure enough, the shop was GONE 😢 Damn it!!!
Blue in Green, Standard and Strange, Naked & Famous! You can walk between all of them they're fairly close. Self Edge probably has the best Iron Heart collection.
@@kongengorm3360The price is eye watering. I only have one pair and not sure I could bring myself to buy another. However a part of me thinks they are worth the price. Free repairs for me as well as I’m UK but they won’t need that for a while yet
i prefer ONI, SAURAI and PBJ because they are prewashed and shrink to fit. They have different types of denim like slub, nep, broken twill and so on. IH are saforised, simple denim compared to the names above and average cuts. We do have stores in Europe. So it´s like comercial denim.
Yeah I (Nick) personally prefer knotty funky fabrics like tanuki and Oni but I definitely get the love of iron heart. I bought two but got wrong fit both times and gave up , accidentally got into stretch selvedge now instead
Iron heart is a meta japanese denim brand. Everything I’ve come across from them is mindfully designed, quality materials, and their QC is immaculate. Their high price point reflects this as well
I've got the 21oz 888 and whilst they're amazing and everything that everyone has ever preached about them, I do wish I'd gone with a lighter weight, I feel like I'm having to work to wear them. However, they do make my ass look amazing, so...
If I had to define Iron Hearts to Japanese car, they would be the Subaru of the denim world. Like Subaru they blowout like Subaru Engines, now if you want a Honda in the denim world that lasts longer and only are the desirable as it ages you are looking for Samurai LTD CO.
Another great video from @Stridewise. You should do a whole review just on Nick's thighs 😂FWIW, I have some jeans from Germany made by Johann Ruttloff that have some sexy reinforced pocket bags. Yes IHs are pricey, stubborn faders, and they are not for everyone, but I personally love mine. While the denim is criticized for lack of character, I would point out that the overdyed stuff is pretty interesting and the fades really pop out of those fairly early on and they have a very unique look IMO
I buy jeans because they last and not fades. To me fades are not important. If they are built to last im in. But iron heart prices are not reasonable for true working class. Tough sale. Great video and I enjoyed it. Nice work.
Also have 4 pairs myself (8301 (my first), 666 UHS, 888 OD, 888 UHS (still brand new)) I actually cut my leg from breaking in the 666 UHS, in hindsight, NY’s humid August is probably not the best timing to break in a 25oz 😂 Once broken in though, extremely comfortable!
between your 666 and 888, which one is roomier on you. I have 634, look too loose on me, 666 feel tight but look good on me. Is 888 looks and feels in between???

I disagree with the pocket bags wearing out too soon. I've the 14 oz, 18 oz and the 21 oz and found the pockets are all quite substantially build. Unless you carry a heavy bunch of keys all the time in your pockets I just don't see how it could prematurely worn out.
He mentioned pocket knives. Wonder if it's closed 😂
How many years of wear do you have on your indigo 14 oz ? they look lovely
Thank you! I got them in September of 2020
it seems like iron heart is super popular in US and western countries, but it doesn't seem at all popular in japan or east asia? why is that? do they cater to a western audience mainly with a more western fit or design?
Which number is the Husky type style? I prefer baggy and narrow cuffs. Like 80’s Girbaud Someone help w a suggestion?
I totally REGRET not buying a pair from a shop that was i. sydney years ago when i was living there. As time went on, i needed a new pair of jeans & wanted to get a pair of Iron Hearts, & sure enough, the shop was GONE 😢
Damn it!!!
What jacket is that?🤔
Same question
man the diamond stitch bag are expensive as well
Is that a Ship John Willis jacket you are wearing walking down the street in your 18oz over dye?
yes! this is the whole video on it: ua-cam.com/video/3u4knc8dg28/v-deo.html
@@Stridewise Love that jacket! Great video, thanks!
I´ll be in NYC in a couple of months and I intend to get my first ever pair of selvedge denim. Any cool stores you guys recommend I check out?
Blue in Green, Standard and Strange, Naked & Famous! You can walk between all of them they're fairly close. Self Edge probably has the best Iron Heart collection.
Nice! I'll be in NYC this April so definitely I'll checking out those stores.
How deep are the pockets in the 777?
I have a pair of 633 and feel like the front pockets are a bit too shallow
they are a decent length, i'm tall and have long slender hands and they fit nicely
I wait for a sale if I’m forced to buy a Levi’s 501!! Denim simply is crazy at the prices that name droppers pay!
Dude you obviously haven't had a chance to experience one of these irl. You feel what's gone into it when you touch it.
@@kongengorm3360The price is eye watering. I only have one pair and not sure I could bring myself to buy another. However a part of me thinks they are worth the price. My pair are 6 years old, worn regularly and still in great shape. I have worn out several other jeans in the time I’ve had these and all from respected brands. Free repairs for me as well as I’m UK but they won’t need that for a while yet
Buying these for Instagram posts is like buying a truck and never hauling anything with it.
Btw what iron hear size you were for your vitals?
Is it available for sale in Paris?
which is better iron heart or Momotaro?
For thick denim it's Iron Heart, if you like more texture/variance/playfulness in your denim then Momotaro
What size are you wearing?
Nice watch, which one?
Looks like a Hamilton with the compass bezel. ua-cam.com/video/MfLRc-X4Lqk/v-deo.html
@@lliameasterbrook6634Yep, thats the one!
Screw the denim whats the jacket?
I got u ua-cam.com/video/6ClPjR84l4o/v-deo.html
i prefer ONI, SAURAI and PBJ because they are prewashed and shrink to fit. They have different types of denim like slub, nep, broken twill and so on.
IH are saforised, simple denim compared to the names above and average cuts. We do have stores in Europe. So it´s like comercial denim.
SoSo sells 33oz jeans. I want them. 🔥
Idk how you got these for 3 or 4 hundred, they 500 on the website
I’ve drank the cool aid. Love iron heart. 👍🏼
What is this JACKET though?
The Taylor Stitch Moto Jacket in Whiskey Steerhide! I believe there is a video about it on his channel.
thanks!@@jerm3443
My only pair is naked and famous indigo left hand twill
that's SUCH a good 'only pair' to have, good work dude!
@@Stridewise Thanks lol. Thats high praise coming from yall!! Love the channel btw. Been watching since your boot review on your grey redwing mocs
@@StatelineSportsPod no way! Dude that’s so meaningful, I’m so glad you’ve been here and supporting all this time. Email me I’ll send you a gift
@@Stridewise Really dumb question. How do I get your email? Is it under the community tab on your page or something?
Prefer my Sugar Canes and Onis. Had considered IH and didn’t really like them… to each their own, I guess!
Yeah I (Nick) personally prefer knotty funky fabrics like tanuki and Oni but I definitely get the love of iron heart. I bought two but got wrong fit both times and gave up , accidentally got into stretch selvedge now instead
Next time you have a pocket blowout (which I personally have never ever had) you can send your Iron Hearts back to the store for free repairs.
To me jeans are jeans and a place to save money for boots and coats
Iron heart is a meta japanese denim brand. Everything I’ve come across from them is mindfully designed, quality materials, and their QC is immaculate. Their high price point reflects this as well
I've got the 21oz 888 and whilst they're amazing and everything that everyone has ever preached about them, I do wish I'd gone with a lighter weight, I feel like I'm having to work to wear them.
However, they do make my ass look amazing, so...
ass is priority! they'll feel good after one or two hundred wears if that helps!
Are you still having trouble with the 21oz?
While the denim is criticized for lack of character, I would point out that the overdyed stuff is pretty interesting and the fades really pop out of those fairly early on and they have a very unique look IMO
i want one
I buy jeans because they last and not fades. To me fades are not important. If they are built to last im in. But iron heart prices are not reasonable for true working class. Tough sale. Great video and I enjoyed it. Nice work.
Give to Malaysia boss?
Overrated brand outside of Japan. International pricing is ludicrous when you compare against Japan prices.
This is why you can find really good deals with eBay Japanese sellers for about 25ish% less
Also have 4 pairs myself (8301 (my first), 666 UHS, 888 OD, 888 UHS (still brand new))
I actually cut my leg from breaking in the 666 UHS, in hindsight, NY’s humid August is probably not the best timing to break in a 25oz 😂 Once broken in though, extremely comfortable!
between your 666 and 888, which one is roomier on you. I have 634, look too loose on me, 666 feel tight but look good on me. Is 888 looks and feels in between???
are you allowed to fart in your japanese denim
i'm afraid not
Piger works best Thai brand
Those cellphone fades are disgusting my brother and I do not mean that as a compliment
Martinez Carol Johnson Betty Smith Barbara
Franchement, ce n'est pas si dingue que ça..😊
They probably use squid ink in the mix.
Its just a pair denims you're obsessed mate you're reading to mutch in it
to mutch
Yeah people that want the fade are the ones that bus jeans with holes in them lol
Over priced for a pair of jeans even if its about the ”quality” its the branding that you are paying for.
I can find Levi's 505 for $30 a pair. So are IR 10+ times more better. I can buy 10+ pairs of Levi Jeans for 1 pair of IRs. Tough sale for me.
It’s not a pragmatic purchase. These jeans are for people that appreciate raw selvedge denim
Not true to size at all
Yeah, super lame. Definitely lost me at synthetic indigo. What a joke. $400 for a lesser product.
Biggest con: the fit is very bad imo, very low rises 👎 even they’re mid and high rise are quite low
The rise is a bit low. Thats a solid point!
The 888 fit I wear definitely isn't too low, but I also definitely wouldn't mind it a bit higher
@@Stridewise yeah I guess there’s better fits, I only tried the 777 but ended up selling it for how narrow the thighs are and how low rise it is, ended up getting a pair of Regular Tanukis and I’m pretty happy with them since.
@@CarlosValentor Oh sounds like you'd like the 888 if you ever decided to give IH another shot
Gotta love the irony when these little urban hipsters review workwear. It’s just hilarious lol
so now you can only wear jeans if you work in trades?
not to mention very very few tradesmen are heading out the door in $350 IH jeans lol @@Stridewise
you struck a nerve lol
@@Stridewise you can wear whatever you want lol. Just commenting on the hilarious irony when guys like you comment on workwear.
@@whereRbearsTeeth I just don’t think we’re calling these jeans workwear
Wow, that was a lot of shots you took. Snobby much?
Completely boring. Five minutes I’ll never get back.
IRON HEART is One 6 Hi-End Denim produced In Japan, However who else has a Life long guarantee/warranty.
Meh. I’ve got several. Rgt is just as good. Soso brothers make the heaviest in the world.
I hate that you’re intellectualizing dirty jeans.
