Never connect PowerCON connectors while the cable is live. They don't have breaking capacity, making them susceptible to arcing and damage when connected under load. PowerCON TRUE1 doesn't suffer from this problem, but the original PowerCON spec demonstrated here does. Always connect your leads up first, then apply power to the circuit.
Hey great vid, couple questions. Can you use SJOW cable for the power con links? And the output from the wall going into your first fixture from a distro, i'm assuming that would need to be white as that's your first output?
DJ Vibe, DJ Services I don't have any experience with SJOW cables. But if it can handle the amperage and wattage and has 3 wires (live, neutral, ground) then it should work. If you are coming from your power source to the fixtures you'll use the blue powerCON. most fixtures have a power in and out labeled and the cool thing about powerCON is that you can't plug a in to an out.
Right, but if i'm making a Distro, and want to make the wall socket a powercon, it would be white as that would be the initial output, right? SJOW is used pretty regularly around here in Canada, i'm sure you have another name for it then. Thanks for your time. www.awcwire.com/productspec.aspx?id=portable-cord-sjow

DJ Vibe, DJ Services oh I'm sorry. Yes that is correct. Any power out on powerCON is white.
Neutral/Ground/Load (White/Green/Black)
WE DON'T CLEARLY + - and GROUND CONNECT !
otherwise informative video, ruined by intrusive, obnoxious beats
Sounds OK glad you enjoyed it.
I actually agree. The music was loud and obnoxious.
