This story is amazing. Growing up i HATED reading, but always had high grades and No behavioral problems. Basically a star student, except for not being able to perform highly in reading for years. When i was 16 i got a vision and learning exam and started VT. Did VT for 3 months and graduated. It changed my life, i now read for fun and never ever thought i would be able to. I now work at that practice as a medical scribe/pretester and vision therapist. I am also a certified paraoptimetric. I initially wanted to be an optometrist 100% all in sophomore year of high school. I ended up getting pregnant with my now husband the year i was applying and got a low OAT score, and got rejected. It really broke my heart. I’m now applying again and am hoping that they see my passion and that i CAN do it 💪🏻vision therapy truly is amazing
@@juliameacham5828 haha I’m sure I have a video about the OAT that could explain it better, but just make sure you know the big relationships between each variable- for example it’ll give you distance and time, and ask for speed, and you need to make sure to know the math relationship between the three
@@joshreese_optometry thank you! I’ll give them a look, I’ve watched almost all of them. Keep doing what you’re doing, you’re helping tones of people 💪🏻
Awesome video! I really enjoyed it. Thanks for this channel, it's honestly amazing. I'm a current UVU student hoping to start optometry school in 2025 or 26
Thank You! You are so right! I'm so thankful for your content! You for sure helped this student!🎉 Would you recommend doing your bachelor's at an optometry school?
I don’t think it makes a huge difference, but it might make it easier if you know you want a school like Houston or IU to go to their undergraduate program as well! As far as finding a place to live, interviewing, and knowing the program
