Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Congratulations on finally finishing kindergarten Zach!

“Then they turn into little ass holes” 😂😂 Wait until the teen years and those mouths talk back, gotta love kids. Put those springs on every 10th one until they are all on

Gotta love the honesty.
True
I damn near fell out of my chair...That was epic.
So true!!!

They turn into little assholes?🤣 it was at this moment, I shot coffee out of my nose!🤣
Yes, he's good. I grew up among farms but my father was a carpenter. I have little reason to sign up for these videos but they are good. The dry humor works well and is clearly natural to him. Can't wait 'till he decides to shock the fanbase and buys a Massey Ferguson :-)
I did the same with my soda!

Coloured cable ties on the hoses on the planter, matching the color on the tractor hydralic out put. Then there is no more guess work.
That sounds logical and an easy fix. But not nearly as fun as watching them struggle for hours getting it all set up again next season. Lol

Umm, Zach, the "happy birthday Mr. President" was a Marilyn Monroe reference long before it was a Wayne's World reference. Dang millennials.
Yeah, Thank you!
The way Zack did it was from Wayne's World. Dang boomers.
& the fact that he had to try both ways to turn the battery disconnect switch off.
@@WayneRandall . . . . ? You mean pretty much exactly the same way Marilynn sounded? Maybe that's why Dana Carvey did it that way in Wayne's world also.

Actually Zach, that is a President JFK and Marylin Monroe reference! 😂. Before I was born, but I paid attention in history class 😂😂😜
We welcome the new green (9570) to the herd. Glad that situation is turning out well for you all.
You know you're a millennial when you don't ask, "Why???" at the concept of a kindergarten graduation, in small-town Minnesota.
"It's best to procrastinate until your family gives you ultimatums." Maybe everyone will believe me now that you said it.
Hope that Mystic oil wasn’t the cause of the engine failure on the 9560rt. 😟
9570RT?
You ever use mystic oils? That’s some good oil, I’d say some of the best on the market honestly.
It had to be something like that...it certainly wasn't anything Deere did.
When they do wear and longevity tests on oil Mystic is right at the top. Enough that the big pyramid oil company won't compare theirs to Mystic...
You Zack are a great DA, husband, and son, cheers to Beckie. and like the wise man said FEEL THE RAIN.

Tell her I said congratulations on graduating from Kindergarten. And before long it won't be cool to hang out with mommy and daddy when they go to Middle School.
I noticed your German Shepard always yipps when you start the tractor. There must be a high-pitched sound that only dogs can hear that irritates their ears. 🤔
Mystik... So wish I still had a Fleet Farm near me to easily by it... (moved from MN to GA).
My buddy has a new Denali pickup like yours. The dealer replaced all his rotors and pads because of the squeaking. Just figured I’d let you know!
11:20 actually made me laugh out loud.... Mainly at how true it is.
Years ago my neighbor had a dog that would constantly bite the lugs on the tractor as he went through the fields. On more than one occasion he never let go and did a full 360°. That old dog was a nut job. He was more interested in chasing tractors rather than herding the cows.
Hilarious 😂😂
Nut job... I see what you did there.
Kinda related, around 84 I guess, the neighbors 3 doors down, had this huge mongrel dog that attacked everything, including the tires of a moving vehicle. One day dad had enough, he got a "croker sack", basically a big hemp bag they shipped hoses and stuff in, he took the hubcap off the truck, dropped it in the sack and popped it back on the wheel, jumps in and takes off down the street, probably 25mph, sack flapping and flopping all around, me being dumb little kid ran out to see what the heck he was doing, time I got there that big dog came running out to the road and attacked that sack, it spun him over several times and slid him out across his yard. Ever hear a mean spit kid shriek with glee lmao that dog never bothered any cars again.
felt good typing that all out. Thanks for reading
When in highschool. A unnamed person tied a burlap bag on the right rear tire of a 69 Chevelle SS. The dog came running out grabbed the bag and the driver did a second gear burnout. Not a good deal for the dog.
Man that was a solid sale pitch on the Mystic 5th wheel grease! And with it being purple and the fun designs you can make I bet you could convince your daughter's to do it as a craft and or coloring project!!!! (I'm pretty sure my daughters would volunteer at that point) Although then you may need to look at getting a laundry detergent sponsor> (Unless Mystic does that too!!!)
left the abrasive grit though
Probably 75 percent of the grease wiped off to the front of the trailer he backed under...waste.
@@greg10469 can you do it any better? Just curious.

"Kindergarten graduation" what a peculiar thing, does that mean one can actually fail kindergarten and have to stay a year longer ?
It’s part of the, “everyone is special” mentality.
Short answer is yes you can fail but you gotta be a special kinda dumb.
Yep I knew a guy who failed kindergarten and repeated it
@@isaackvasager9957 Oh, I know. That doesn’t change the fact.
Amazing that much machinery can be kept going, newer or not.
I agree about the a$$holes lol
Great video. We started planting on may 13 and it only took 2 or 3 days. And we finally got a nice rain yesterday got over an inch more than we had the whole month of May.
Watching from Michigan
When you grease that 5th wheel, no need to go all the way to the front. Just up to the kingpin and let friction do the rest...
Or just drop your bags until your pins almost into your jaws. Raise up. Back in. No grease build up. And no dry spots.
@@blairarmstrong3204 Yes, I do that as well, plus I put a tarp strap on front of the fifth wheel to hold it level, works pretty good with no grease on front of the trailer!!
You can also get these handy dandy little grease pouches you can push in between you fifth wheel and pin plate. (When pins pulled and bags dropped) 😎.
@@blairarmstrong3204 Really, honestly I’ve never heard of that sounds like a good idea, just as important you have to keep the King pin lubed up, I just use an old paintbrush to put grease on there, we used to fill our grease gun with bulk grease, kinda of pain , so I just use those almost empty containers for the fifth wheel, maybe that mystic stuff Zach uses is better, I know regular grease gets hot when it’s summertime and drips all over the place big mess, always got to clean that up 😩!!
@@scotts7427 i have an auto greaser on my truck. Greases the fifthwheel and everything except the drive line and steering shaft. I only have to grease once in a while when i scrape off all the old grease.
When I have to disconnect many hydraulic lines, I have found that taking a good picture with my camera has worked wonders.
Of course, that only works when the lines are tagged or color coded well. And... don't lose the pictures.
Keep it between the rows. :-)
i’m sure androids have it too, but on my iphone, my “favorites” folder is reserved for important stuff i need to defense often. super handy rancher than trying to remember what month 3 years ago you took that picture lol. just snap it, hit the little heart and it makes it easy to find
been working as a heavy equipment mechanic for 10 years and the most important tool i have is a pack of multi colored zipties you get from harbor frieght. put one of a color the line and the same color on the fitting and it is clearly marked.

Take most of the springs off of one side, a equal number on opposite, add few to each side all the way around.. doing all on one side then opposite, you better be real strong lol.
You should do some Racing videos!

I like 5th wheel grease in bags. it is easy to use ....
At 6:20 I understood "Tinder" instead of "tender". Laughed very hard for 5 seconds. Watched it again and recognized the expectation that I have for this channel.
Tender... Windy may cause sounds tinder... 😂
Imagine his kids watch the video and then they watch the part 11 minutes and 18 seconds
FYI, if you haven’t already figured it out? Don’t hook all the springs in one side. You have to do every 4th or 5th one and work your way around till you get them all. Spreading the tension out progressively.
Yes you got another track machine. Hell yeah. 👍👊
Warren of Western Truck and Tractor on You Tube just put the third Deere engine, authorized by Deere, into a farmer's 9620T. First one blew up. Second motor lasted exactly 1.5 hours and it blew up. This time a Deere Service Specialist will start the tractor after installation is complete. He has videos of the entire situation. Pretty interesting and not great press for Deere. I was raised with Deere machines and worked for Deere in their warehouse decades back. Sad to see.
Oh hey, when greasing the fifth wheel we have found that if you just grease the lower half it smears less off (like at 5:54) and distributes it better. Since it isn't in contact with the trailer to get rubbed off. Just thought I would share. (Less product use, less mess and better job).
I agree but as said previously clean off alll he abravious grit shit first
or dump the air, clear the upper fifth wheel plate, and re-inflate
I knew someone would say something about that lmao it gets smeared either way should have lifted jack on trailer higher so it has a small gap
We just grease the trailer, saves all that extra grease dropping on truck frame.
After seeing so my tractors posted on your instagram I really thought you were going to bring something new and different to the channel! Either way great video

When you opened up that box, looked at it and then sighed, I laughed out loud! I know that feeling. :-)
Don't you think your dogs are going a little overboard on social distancing?
“Then after that they turn into little a**holes”😂
An old mechanic friend of mine, originally from Wisconsin, use to say that farmers shouldn't be trusted with anything more complicated than a shovel or hoe. This, because most farmers unhooked their equipment where ever and didn't think about it until they needed it the following year, when, of course, it didn't work. It's nice to see (expensive and complex) equipment cared for before it goes into proper storage. I still see too much equipment left in the dirt with weeds growing up around it.
RIP Nicole
Lmao love the honesty buddy they definitely grow up fast lol thanks for sharing buddy

Hi Zach just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate the time and effort you put into the videos to make them informative and humorous. On another note, I found this blog that may interest you. Its Olly Blogs Agricontract farmer. Olly grows wheat, barley, sunflowers, beans, potatoes, sweet corn, plus a few others. Also they have an industrial chipper to produce fuel for their boiler to heat the buildings but also their grain dryer. He's into more things so give him a look. One more thing, I know you like to go to different farms in the summer so maybe you could go see Olly, he's in England.
