I am a 5th generation family farmer from West-Central Minnesota. The recent interest in food, combined with a large amount of 'misinformation' has driven me to start this channel. I hope to be someone people can relate to and trust when they question how their food is grown and raised. I also hope to become a 'smarter' farmer through my experiences with this channel. I strongly believe we must have an open mind and a willingness to learn about others, or we cannot move forward as one. My goal is to build the connection between farmers and consumers by facilitating a collaborative conversation amongst everyone. I do this by sharing my day-to-day farming experiences, my opinions on certain topics, and occasionally visiting other farms and businesses to help better understand other farming and business practices. There is no limit to where this channel may go, so please join me!!

“ down in the ground, we try getting in there 6 or 7 inches”
Thats what she said.
After that i clicked thumbs up and subscribed inmediately!
Lol, thanks!!
I farmed for 44 Yrs here in south Texas. We were on 40 In rows and our equipment was some what different than Yours is. I can tell you take good care of you're equipment as I did. You have some very good looking equipment, you can be proud of it. Good luck with you're operation. Good luck and God Bless You and you're family.
Elvin Berndt me and my dad got a farm in aqua dulce texas
This farming is frkkn hard work, so many machines, maintenance, crop science, weather and season planning, precautions...it is exhausting just watching it...will appreciate my bread and cereal more. Thank God for farmers!
Yes it is
Hell yes.
It’s crazy the size of these tractors, I’ve seen some of the same tractors and they’re insane! The planters are huge too, it’s nuts! Thank you for feeding us man, without people like you we wouldn’t be here, nobody would.
I saw a 6195R at my local John Deere dealer. It's definitely green, has enough power, can attach a front loader, has the CommandCenter™ display, and it's *HUGE!*
No farmers no food💪👌👍
You can say that about anything and anybody. Truckers say that too. We all need each other.
That is probably the most legit statement I've ever seen....
This one doesn't do much in the field. MUCH! .??
Daan Droste that is very very currect
Ok lets try. No lesbian feminist dance theory majors no food,... No that didn't work. Don't need them for anything.
Loved your video! I'm a 69 year old retired CPA, but when I was a kid we had a 6' rock picker as well. It' was me!😱
It is nice to see private farms the size of yours being successful. Beautiful equipment!!
wait, there are public farms?
@@IvanGrgurina corporate farms
Think you’ll be surprised how many acres Zach farms
@@ignfarmer8769 Thousands just like us
This has been a dream of mine to become a farmer, in my country we have none of this equipment, it's just beautiful, thank u for sharing it with us, much Love from Iran
Morteza NasiriPanah thanks for watching!
id love to be a farmer to. im the first generation of my family that is not a farmer and i would love to be able to afford to buy a farm
Robert Thomas yeah same here
Trust me man atleast in America farming sucks. Prices are down and will stay down for a long time. Our neighbors are slowly going bankrupt. Luckily for us we should get by easily while we get by this drought. Working hard for barely any money. #farmersbeheard
same
The corvette-“this one doesn’t get used in the field much” 😂😂😂
i wonder why :D

As I just post my comment not noticing this is the top one...
This may be my new favorite channel. I'm not a farmer but I live in semi-rural SW Ohio and love open spaces. I've always been fascinated by farming. Thanks for bringing it to the rest of us.
I love the humor in your videos keep up the great work
I am just and old retired carpenter in Lincoln Ne , but love to watch any big mechanical equipment doing it’s things. Like seeing how well you seem to pull together as busy young farm family realizing how hard it must be to balance all the different challenges in your lives . Please keep up the good work, Thanks
Love this... And ALL off your Equipment is top row... 100% well cared for... You should be so proud...thank you for showing us all of it... My grandpa had a small farm of 77 acres and a small tractor but mostly used his two plow horses... Putting us loose hay... I loved spending summers and weekends on the farm... Thank you again for taking time from your busy day to show us around... Again 100% top row all of it farm too... God Bless you and yours... KB...
im not a farmer but this is interesting as hell lol
So funny...Me to
I’m not either but in 6 to 8 years I will be
hell ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
20 FOR me cant wail...
that was me
I love how you guys keep the equipment, farm, and sheds so organized and clean.thats really nice.alot of guys have no organization and nasty dirty farms
corey rogers one thing I've learned is every farm is so different and some guys just enjoy working hard and don't value clean equipment as much as others. To each their own I say, but we like to keep things clean if we can.
Dirty farms. Imagine.
It should be noted not every farm is like this. Some if not most just get by. And as far as being organized and clean everyone does things their own way. The way that works best for them. Some don’t have the resources in order to put sheds up and have updated equipment. My dad has struggled for 40 years feeding cattle and farming a little land. We’ve used the same old worn out equipment for decades. It’s too expensive for us to update. And as far as the equipment being clean well we have a feed yard it’s never clean. So when you say a lot of farmers have no organization and have nasty dirty farms. I’m sure they wish they could have a farm like the one in the video, I do. But like I said it most likely isn’t in their means. Don’t degrade farms that looks nasty compared to this one, doesn’t mean they don’t care maybe they’ve had a rough go at it. Farming used to be dirty. Personally I’d like to see fewer large operations and more smaller farms.
When your machinery is clean it makes it a lot easier to spot oil leaks, loose fasteners, stress/fatigue cracks, cracked hydro lines, etc... Not to mention it's a lot easier working on a machine that's clean. Also, a lot of items used on the farm and produced by the animals on the farm can be rather corrosive. So a good bath can help keep corrosion at bay.
My old time farmer father passed many years ago. I am sure he is enjoying watching these vids with me.
"That's what she said" Classic!
Right
Proper storage and equipment maintenance is the foundation of a successful farming operation.
You, Farming4G, Welker Farms...you excel in storage of your equipment.
With that said...I love your channel and your honesty and humor.
I bet your friends feel knowing you is a blessing...and their lives are better because of you.
Great video, nice job of explanations of "why?" you make the choices you do from the options available to you
John Loken that's what it's all about
Perfect example of what it takes for America to feed the world. God bless all of America's farmers and their families.
Great tour. Had a few good laughs over my coffee this morning . “That’s what she said”!
David Parkhurst
I’m a country guy that moved out to big city doing business...I will come back home today not tmw to be a farmer again,I start buying horses just a few months ago,so I will build a nice horse ranch and have my kids grow up just like I did...20 years into the city and my heart is still out there in the country ...2 miillion dollars worth of equipment,if not more...the big tractor is my favorite
Thanks for the tour. A lot invested in capitol equipment. I dig the Vette!!!
Do a burnout in the garage with the corvette please!
the 8rt
One reason tyres are expensive
I'd prefer to see him doing a burnout with one of the combines
@@Dimaz42 imagine a slammed combine with big ass bbs rims doing burnouts and donuts..... yikes
@Its Kaidin how?
Oliver tractors have a special place in my heart because my uncle had one that looked just like that, but it was actually in the Oliver colors he still has it, but I no longer get to see him because he lives so far away there are times where he would hook up his front loader to it and lift us up to the apple trees, and weed pick apples and wash them I miss Oliver tractors.
I have a 9770 combine that is a 2011. Problems with feed accelerator. This is just me, but if I were you, I would definitely look for a macdon header. I have a 635 FD, its nice, but that macdon is the way to go. I couldn't find one when I bought my combine in 13. So went with a deere. Im tellin ya! You would love it! But, you know as well as I do. We haven't found the money tree in the back yard yet.
Thank you for farming, we daily thank God for all you farmers and ranchers! We know it doesn't come easy, is a tremendous amount of very hard work and extremely expensive. You have a wonderful farm and very cool equipment. We love that you buy American farm equipment. God speed and God Bless you and your family!
ZACH,
THX FOR THE WALK AROUND/TOURING
AND SUM NEW SCHOOLING AZ WELL .
Thanks so much for the tour. One of the fun things to do on the farm for us was the rock picker. Don't know why, just seemed like a lot of fun. I grew up on the farm but it was back in the day. Our tractor of choice was the Farmall Super M. Didn't know what a cab was. If you were really high dollar you might have had a heat houser. All our corn was harvested with a two row picker. We were general farmers. Raised hogs, cows, beef cattle. Lot less equipment headaches back then.
We run green also. Not that they always make the best tractor, but they currently have the best dealer in my area. We ran some agco prior grew up on whites. Agco parts just can’t get it done here for some reason.
Nice lineup. Good explanation of why you went certain ways. If we all had New York Yankees type of money I imagine the lineup would look different. But like you said sometimes the cost doesn’t justify the upgrade.
Adam Kruskama absolutely on both points! We have a good local AGCO dealer and would never rule them out but our Deere dealer has been so good for us.
MN Millennial Farmer the name of the case ih dealer here is Ag West Supply... nicknamed Ag Worst by the locals. My cousins have always had red. I like who can service me best and doesn’t leave me hanging because a little part broke and I have rain coming.
John Deere this spring sent a tractor out as a demo so I could finish planting when my old IH couldn’t do the job. It was like you Minnie, very reliable till that day. But when push came to shove my dealer made the difference.
Thanks for the video. Entertainment while I’m babysitting an irrigation pump.
We’ve been harvesting for about three weeks now. Two months left to go. Hope things go well for you! Mother Nature has been kicking our butt this year.
I was a dairy farmer but we lost our farm due to dairy prices back in the 80s. I watch your fantastic videos because I wish I was still a farmer and miss it very much.
If you ever make down to the quad city area of Iowa. Be sure to let me know. Would be able to get you a factory tour if you would like along with museum tour of big green.
yes please :) :)
Nice tour I enjoyed it, I always respect a man keeping and using what works and is feasible.... We are in severe drought in North Missouri...Its getting bad Pond's drying up, corn burning up, pastures turning brown.... Just a short crop report..
Dave Hughes Farm wow that's the opposite of us right now
Check out the drought monitor, when you get a moment..Its getting worst by the day, gonna be 105 today with heat indices in North Missouri...Missouri is notoriously/historically the most humid in Midwest...
"This one doesnt get used in the field much"😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
My grandsons love your UA-cam shows! I have had to buy them endless John Deere you tractors and implement s! Thanks for being great!
That was an awesome tour. You explained things without the Jib Jab. Thanks for sharing.
Farming has been a passion of mine since I was 10. I am now 27 and most farms in my home state of TN have shut down. Love the equipment!
You should of got in the Polaris and took it for a spin
Just upgraded from a 9600 to a 9770 combine , exicted to see how it goes this harvest. And tracks are best to be rented, few years back when we had an incredibly wet harvest we rented tracks and put the saved money towards tileing our wettest ground.
thanks for the tour.
Soybean Farmer 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hi I’m from San Bernardino California I’m not sure how I found you by accident but I’m enjoying watching you love your children
Great video - Boy I'm impressed as to how you keep your equipment looking so good. Cheers
Needs washed and waxed
55 inch digger might take you a bit longer
Reminds me of when my cousin called uhaul and asked if they had any 19 inch trucks. My uncle said “I don’t know who we’re going to find that’s small enough to drive it”
That MM is a gas tractor right? I love it it looks awesome I love Oliver's I wish i could of kept my great grandfathers Oliver's but we needed to sell them to pay for medical bills when he passed I still have a deere 4010 gas I am working on and a ford 8n and the tractor I use everyday on my little farm is a Massey Harris 44 with a full hydro loader best tractor I have every used never breaks down I bet you it probably has 40000 plus hours on it by now my grandfather used to farm with it and now I use it lol.
The MM is a gas tractor, yes! I love old iron
It’s so satisfying to see everything (somewhat) clean, taken care of, and mostly matching
so you're telling me that my dad could have bought a machine to pick up rocks when I was a kid! And I thought my cousins and I were the only rock pickers available! that's bogus dad
Wow, beautiful farm and facilities! Thank you for allowing some of us old farm kids to live vicariously through your videos.
"That's what she said!" Yeah!
Best thing on the farm in my opinion are the T8's with the bigblock cats. Nothing better than a KW with a cat
“That’s what she said” 😂😂😂 you are by far the funniest farming channel out there.
My dad and grandfather farmed at the same scale u and your father farm at now. Im 35 and unfortunately i missed out my grandad got sick and my dad farmed as long as he could by himself. Eventually he got out of farming fulltime all together, we still own all thw land we just rent it out. Anyways i enjoy ur content after hearing my dad talk farm stories for my entire life seeing ur content really gives me the full effect. Anywho great job and my dads always impressed with ur bean crop lol he watched a few episodes with me and was verry much impressed with your beans and corrn also.
I wanted to take the time to tell you that you did a absolutely fantastic job on this video. Thank you for taking the time to give a little in depth overview of each piece of machinery, it’s uses, tire size, and hours that are on it ( most people leave that out) it was a real pleasure to watch!
John Gardill thanks!
Haha the reason we don’t have a ______ is really simple there expensive. Lol keeping it to the point
Illinois Sand Farmer some people seem to think another 50 grand here and there isn't a consideration!
MN Millennial Farmer "it's just money!!!!" ***** lol
MN Millennial Farmer I hear it all the time your a farmer your rich. We just keep our heads up work hard for nothing cause that’s what our grandpas and dad did and raised us to do
Illinois Sand Farmer 4tkkwwe
Yeah i thought tgat was great 'it was the right tractor for the right price at the right time'
It would be awesome for you to do a vid on the finances of farming....costs of equipment, fuel, fertilizer, seed...etc vs the yield/price of commodity grains. So few folks understand what a tough business farming is...specially since commodity prices are so depressed right now. Everyone thinks, “Oh, look at all the pretty toys these rich farmers have” and just don’t have a clue how tough it is to make a decent profit in this business. Great vids....Thanks.
*me a white suburban teen* “holy shit that’s some of the coolest shit I’ve ever seen”
It seems like upgrading to the 12 row header would be a good investment since the combine can handle it. Even without increasing the downstream handling, you'd be able to just drive slower. You'd be cutting out a third of the passes which would save wear and tear (you'll get a third farther before the "axle has fallen off" sensor goes off!). It would also make harvesting the test plots much simpler. I don't see any drawbacks....oh ya, EXPENSIVE.
Another great video, Zach. Thanks.
With the. Extra weight in front that rear axle might never broke
Now the only thing you are missing is an airplane to do even more spraying.
ikr
I grew up farming, but am now in a different industry that mean moving away from home. I miss it some times. I remember learning to drive the 4020 and getting to disc before burning stubble. I learned to drive a combine on a new Holland 995. I ran a TX96 a few years ago, but most of these machines I'd have no idea how to run anymore.
Keep up the hard work.
"This corvette doesn't get used in the field much"
Much?
Donuts
Jay Rogers you mean tillage
Pull the deep tiller with it now and again
SPEEED AND POWWWA
I delivered a couple of the new field cultivators to your dealer back in Jan and Feb. Thanks for the tour! Been watching all your videos, almost caught up.
I have to say most of your equipment looks like it is from 2018
That's exactly what I was thinking. Goes to show ya that he takes very good care of these farming machines and that he takes a lot of pride in his work. Which is not something you won't see to often these days.
ya it does
@@CriminalJusticeUA-cam Not something you wont see too often? I think you lost me there...
SquillyMon well hopefully everyone knows what I meant lol
@@CriminalJusticeUA-cam Were you trying to state that his values are something that you don't see very often?
15:05 IVTs calibrates when in Park at transmission temp' above 25c (that's 77f) once every start up (so if it calibrates once after you start the tractor it won't calibrate again until you'll turn it off and on again).
BTW,
you can turn off that "transmission calibrating" notification (newer Deeres does calibrate but don't show those notification on the screen).
hmm, is it just me or does tihis dude like john deere?
great video bud
When I retired from Farming cropping/dairy I was using a binder two row mounted on an IH 400 amazing this tech stuff you and your family stay healthy
Late again so clicked the notification bell....Love how you just say it without going unnecessarily deep into stuff, sorta 6/7" deep always works on a farm.;-))
Great tour! It is awesome to see the variety of equipment, your applications with them and how they work best for you! Missed the pressure washer you have to keep it all clean though, the equipment and shop looks like it is very nicely maintained.
The corvette was cool
Great video! I spent 7 years as a tech for a Deere dealer in that area so I love that green iron!
Love all of dhem tractors. The one I would have to sport would be the 900 Polaris.....lol
to think all my relatives including my grand father were open pit iron ore miners up in buhl mn in the late 1800's and early 1900's and hardly got by be thankful millennial for all you have been blessed with along with your talent and very hard work so go strong
I'm thankful every day for the opportunities I've had in my life.
17:27 "This one doesn't get used in the fields much." Man that's a shame looks like it'd do really good.
Lucky farmer you have all of that, while we're stuck with a JD 2955, and JD 6400 and t5, that is it for us we farm in the Saint Mary's river Basin. In Florida. We now have to drive 140 miles to the state capital to sell anything, except form and cane chews which we deliver to a horse feed plant. Cedar Creek Farms, Sanderson Florida.
Love the machine sheds!!
I'm a 3rd generation farmer and rancher I love your videos and I'm definitely subscribing, keep up the great work.
“This one doesn’t get used on the fields much” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
So I found your channel just a little while ago and I truly enjoy it. ♥
Nice video as normal. Did u manage to sell your tree spade truck at all . If you did hope you got what you wanted for it and help you out with your other side line job all the best from Andy in UK
Andy wilkinson I sure did and I got pretty close to what I wanted so I'm satisfied
I'm in Minnesota for a business trip and I'm 90% sure I was behind the tractor and Danish that Jim buried...huge fan...love each video
We kinda like the green iron too. Our crops are 50-80 feet tall and 150 miles north of you. Nice job on the video!
i think maybe......timber.:-)
William Davis we have some Deere equipment that we use to harvest timber in northern Minnesota.
BigJim57 Nice job catching that one!
Where r u in mn I'm north of Bagley
Riley Tharaldson Grand Rapids area.
dad retired from farming about 15 years ago and the newest best tractor we have now is 10 years older than that Moline and the next size smaller i think
Tour enjoyed.
Hey buddy thanks so much for taking the time tpo share this information with us. Enjoyed seeing what equipment you have. Hope things are going well and the corn and beans are growing and produce a big crop this year. Have a great weekend. God Bless!!!
Now we wanna see a “Toy” tour
My mum is getting married today, still got a few hours til the ceremony but as always I take time out of my day to watch your videos, keep up the good work!
An online interactive stable of traction rich muscle machines to furrow, flip, penetrate, enrich, plant and harvest an often moisture laden growing medium while looking very stylish. Why didn't you say so? For protection I would recommend parking that Corvette in my garage. Just sayin'
Tim Bush well said!! How hard did you work on that?!
Thanks for the tour ! You do a great job keeping it all clean and well maintained. Good luck with your racing season.
18:01 Does the Call of Duty hit marker sound for the steering wheel tilt come standard on the 6410?
Lol it does sound like a hit marker
City slicker here but I'm jealous of you boys and your toys. Looks like alot of hardwork but also alot of fun.
Thank you for the vid! I'm pretty let down the dually is a gas truck lol I guess the rest makes up for it!
And old tractors are always cool. My first big tractor driving job was on 4555 John deere
Great video as always. Kinda surprised that the Vette isn’t green as well. 😂😂 👍🏻👍🏻
Its really cool to see a inside look at how farming works, I wanted to be a farmer as a kid ,but never grew up around farming.
john deere heaven
We run two 40ft draper heads on a s670 and a s680. Absolutely love them! You pay the price for them but they are so worth it. Clean cut and feeds in extremely nice and saves beans shattering. Great Video!
Some lovely machines there Zak I’m not a farmer but ! Farming simulator 19 is getting John Deere so I’m excited 👍
James Mcclaren already preordered farming sim 19 to damn excited about the John Deere machines in it!
When I was a linemen we had a topkick, guys where rolling them over because the 4+4 digger trucks had such a high center of gravity.
"We try and get it in there 6 or 7 inches" - "That's what she said" Lmao 😂😂
I’m currently 17 and I have a huge interest in farming and tractors/equipment. I hope to have a good sized farm in the future. It’s a shame I don’t see many people my age with an interest in farming or of the sort.
woah corvette alert!
back in the 60's and early 70's not far from you we farmed 800 plus open acres... just 2 4020's older 95 combine and A johnny popper for smaller task…Im sure your dad enjoys those comfort cabs…..your watching the cost on equipment is wise , and a teachable point to other's…THANKS
