The line 'There is still a part of me that's dying in a dumpster' is a reference to his friends leaving him in a dumpster when they thought he had OD'd as a teenager. 'The one that rose is a motherf-ing monster' was him coming back from that.

This song is probably my favorite off we are not your kind. An aggressive reflection on Corey's life and how there was a time he didn't know who he was anymore after some of those experiences (hence "there's still a part of me who's dying in a dumpster, the one who rose is a MFing monster" referencing an OD where his friends threw him away). And as for the instruments, this is Jay's heretic anthem. I am so glad he got the chance to be in the band because he is a perfect successor to joey.
My favorite song from WANYK. Fucking brutal all from beginning to end and Jay absolutely murdered the drum kit.

This song seems like Cory is talking about himself, a lot of the bars in the song I’ve heard Cory talk about in an interview. Like the part waking up in a dumpster, he ODed on coke and they dumped him in a dumpster when he was younger. But one of these weeks you guys please react to Iowa . One of the best songs songs slipknot has ever done.

The drummer is Jay Weinberg, who’s dad Max Weinberg was the drummer for Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band. He said once in an interview i remember that “…you play the drums like they owe you money.”
I think Jay took that to heart in this song 🤘

I can't find the interview but once Shawn said that the term "maggot" is not just the crowd's visual likeness but it's an allegory for him. The maggots are mingling around in dirt and shit without holding any kind of value and worth, basically suffering. Eventually, they turn into puppets, and then they are reborn as flies, then they fly away wherever the fuck they find. Somewhere beautiful like a field of flowers or wherever they find peace.

Been saying for months to do "The Nameless". It's off of Vol 3, and has a very interesting call and response sort of style lyrically and really showcases all of slipknot's strengths from great melody and choruses to crushing breakdowns and killer snare lines. Even has a live music video, please do this one soon!

the lyrics are dual references, Corey was raised by his grandmother so an orphan, he OD'd and his "friends" threw him in a dumpster, also "I am an orphan the one who kills your world" I believe references the antichrist, risen from the ashes of a damned world, Corey rose from the overdose and became the monster we know today

Pulse Of The Maggots was my favorite curtain drop intro song for Slipknot. You all reacted to it already. The seek shelter Siren , Soldiers marching & corey with a megaphone gets me every time. too good. GUYS if u haven't react to to 'The namelss" by them DO IT, a underrates song BUT quick note: All of their music videos songs from Vol.3 are different from the album version, all of them, like "Duality" "Before I forget" "Vermilion" songs from tjis album is always different un their music vidoes and i alwsys prefer the audios than the MVS coz the audios are longer and more fire, BUT "The nameless" I actually enjoy the music video and the album version, Corey's singing voice is better in the album version BUT his screams are better in the music video is like a live so... u guys decide, but yeah the Duality and Before I forget u reacted are not the album versions

Shit guys. I was in foster care for two years but not because I was an orphan my mom just had some real issues with drugs untill she got better and got me back but still Smokey good first guess LOL..I think maggots came from the song pulse of the maggots🗑️🗣️4️⃣🧬

As good as Slipknot still is, they're a shadow of their former selves. No matter what angle you look at it from, you can't possibly call yourself a true maggot if you support the current state of the band.
Yeah. They've still got it. But they've lost what was really important.
A third of the fucking *family.* Slipknot was supposed to be a family, a brotherhood. It's been said that without Joey or any other member, Slipknot does not exist.
Paul is dead.
Chris was sacked because they wouldn't stop treating him like a hired gun and he got vocal about it to the public.
Joey was fired because they thought he was still on drugs when he had a seriously debilitating muscle disease.
Jay and Alessandro don't stack up to Joey and Paul and I actually blame Clown and Jay for the mainstream sound Slipknot has now, because Clown can't write drums for shit and Jay didn't have what it took to keep Slipknot sounding like Slipknot when the drums are what drives the music. He's a fantastic drummer but there's nobody on this planet that could ever fill Joey's shoes. Chris was objectively the superior percussionist and vocalist to Clown, and cared the most about the fans and treated them like more than faceless silhouettes.
I'm not going to mention tortilla man because he's simply *not* worth a mention. The circumstances around his hiring feel slimy and disrespectful, especially to Chris but also to what Slipknot was before the rest of the guys started to decide it was a good idea to use Jim's garage riffs and let money do the talking.
You all wanted Iowa back, and you fucking got it. The band is falling apart and Paul isn't here to be a mediator and settle things down.
Slipknot is dead. Now there is only Corey Taylor & Friends. It's fucking pathetic is what it is.

Great song I like it but I think We Are Not Your Kind is the worst Slipknot album, you have only heard the good part. It has some ugly songs like My Pain and Death Because of Death. it's still a good album though.
