I've done thus succesfully before due to some advice in the comments section and I don't see it anymore so I'll just repeat what it said. With one cup of sugar add one tablespoon of lemon juice and one tablespoon of water. Next boil it on low to medium heat until the colour that she show happens. You can then take a large plate instead if a marble counter and wet the plate and pour the hot wax onto there and play with it with your spoon until it is cool enough to touch (it should still be relatively hot) And then play around with the wax in your hands until the colour she shoes comes up

Samer Farhan ....you are assuming wrongfully. Stop that. It's not about sides. It's about facts. My mother was born in Haifa, Israel, but she is full 100% Armenian. It's rude that you tried to "correct" me when you don't know the facts of MY story. Screw sides, picking sides creates wars. I just love how we all any generation, have adopted this ancient waxing

    • @sarabeg6924
      @sarabeg6924 9 років тому +17

Sheso Madeline it's easy to say "don't pick sides" when you're on the side that's obviously stronger and has all the advantages... Samer was right, it's Palestine. Israel did not exist until fairly recently and is existing now only because of illegal occupation. If you want people to live peacefully, you need to accept the facts.

I wanted to say thank you very much, you don't know how much your lessons meant to me.
Not just the speaking lessons but things liek the waxing.
I am half arabien, my father was arabien, but as I was born and grew up in europe and my father already has passed away I didn't know anything about him and never had a person to talk about those kind of well curiousity.
It may sound wrong but well removing hair like maybe my cousin I never will be able to meet do, it make sme kidn of proud to well live a little bit of my roots I never got to live.
So thank you very much ♥

I DID IT!!! IT TOOK ME 3 TRIES!
-Okay, use 1 tbs and 1 tsp of water, no more.
-do not take it off the stove too early, let it brown a bit. (Bout a min or 2 after It starts yellowing)
-I put it on a wet plate. Do NOT put too much water!!! Only coat it a little!
-play with hot wax with spoon for about 10-15 min. Should be quite quite firm.
-wet hands ONCE AND DO NOT KEEP GLOBING WATER ON YOUR HANDS BECAUSE THEN IT WILL LOSE IT'S CONSISTENCY. Eventually, it will start to dry while you're kneading it!

I've tried, like 10 times and it never works!!! And my husband keeps trying to eat it lol.
But when I knead it, I very lightly wet my hands with water everytime I feel the wax start sticking too much, and after about 5 minutes, it just starts melting and I can't do anything for it...I just have to wash it off and try again :(.
If I don't wet my hands, the wax sticks too much and I can't knead it....so, I don't know what else to do :(.

Made this came out perfect. Few tip
    1. Constantly stir no stopping.
2 . Made mine in Arabic raqwe small pot used for Turkish coffee nonstick
    3. Follow the recipe.
    4. I used parchment paper / wax paper no mess and easy to clean
    5. Don't over cook = hard cardy
    6. Wet your hands when forming the ball kneed for 2 minutes
    7. Take small piece off to work with. Don't add water gets way to sticky. Instead if the wax is hard or tough lick 1 finger and kneed some more . :) turns white and soft when ready apply and then wait it will harden a little then remove per instructions
    Hope these tips help.

Here is a recipe/method that won't leave you with a sticky mess!!
    Recipe:
2 cups sugar, 3/4 water, 2 teaspoons lemon juice.
    Method:
    1. Mix together, stir until golden brown on medium heat (20-30mins)
    2. pour into a baking dish (ceramic or silicone). LEAVE for about 10mins. DO NOT HANDLE HOT WAX. DO NOT USE WATER.
    3. After it has a thicker consistency, use a metal spoon and stir as much as possibly into a circle within the dish. Keep stirring until it starts getting a bit lighter in colour.
    4. With your finger, test if the top of your wax circle is hot. Keep stirring if it is. If not, take a small piece from the top and stretch it out like Maha did (it will be the same/similar colour as her end product). Keep taking more wax from the circle until you are left with none. DONE! :)
    5. If you are left with with more wax in the dish that is too hard, microwave it and follow the same steps as above. Use and store as Maha did (re-usable, wrap in plastic, keep in the fridge and use again).
THUMBS UP SO MORE PEOPLE WILL SEE THIS :)
p.s no disrespect to the beautiful Maha, your recipe just didn't work for me :( I found my way worked better for me.

Hands down the best tutorial. I got a great consistency on the first try. Thank you so much! I was able to do a Brazilian wax myself and it got all the coarse hair off. I tried using nair before and that wasn't getting the coarse hair out in first try. I was doubting whether this would be strong enough to remove my very very coarse hair and it did. It was painful, but that is expected and it did the job. Used very little wax and it was mess free. I am so so happy. It is going to save me a lot of money. I had to say something.

For those who end up with a melty mess: two hints! First get the temp of the mix to 250-260 ( use candy thermometer) also, I have had success pouring the mix into a thick glass bowl, let cool about an hour or hour and a half it will be cool enough to play with but will really work well! Also 2 cups sugar, 1/4 cup water and 1/4 cup lemon juice (I don't use the salt) good luck!

For anybody who is having trouble with this try using less water! I tried this same recipe multiple times and each time found I had added too much water so I used less and less water each time. Eventually I ended up using a tiny bit and it ended up great! If you have troubles use less water and it should work!

Ladies, granite and marble are two different types of rock. I'm surprised that they'd be mad if you put it on their granite counter tops. The whole point of using granite instead of marble is that is much more difficult to damage than marble, which scratches easily (hence the fact that it's used for sculpting) and stains more quickly than granite. Temperature wise, neither rock is going to be damaged by boiling sugar paste (or sugar wax as it's called else where) - that's why it's used for kitchen applications in industrial kitchens used by patisseries and professional chocolate/candy makers.

ATTENTION: To all those who failed doing this. Did it 4x, the first 3 tries I did it the way the vid. told me to, then the 4th try I did it my way. I waited until it turned red on the pan, coz if I took it out right after it turns golden yellow I noticed the sugar doesn't melt well, then I took it out. Don't wet it afterwards or rather wet your hands while touching it, I didn't even touch it, I just poured it down on a bowl and then played with it using my spoon until I know it wasn't that sticky/runny. Then I took a small piece of it to check if it's ok, then rolled it in my hands until it's the same texture as the vid. Now I was able to use it on my auntie.. XD

I'm doing it my way!!" *Rage face on!* no offense to the girl on the vid. I viewed other vids. as well.. so that's when I was perfectly able to make it.. and it's less messy for me.. and whenever I use the left over I put it on the microwave for 15-20 sec. XD

I like this homemade one but if you live near an Arabic or middle eastern store you can buy already made sugar wax and it's so easy! You can keep it for as long as you want wherever you want and whenever you want to use it all you need to do is microwave it, it usually says how long you need need to microwave it for on the back, I'm pretty sure it also gives you instructions. My grandma always uses it! Hope this helped!

I finally made it work it took me about a dozen tries but I got it! LOL. What I did was use a frying pan or just a wide pan in general, used natural lemon or lime and cooked it for under 10 minutes medium heat, stirring it the whole time, and I used a cold ceramic plate I put in the freezer since I don't have a marble counter. My other tip, do not knead it with your hands! I mixed it with a spoon and when it got to hard I added bits of water in the wax an microwaved it again for like 10seconds. Then when it cools down a bit mixed it again with the spoon, wet my hands and made a small ball, squished it and stretched it a little to see if it would lay flat and wahla! Don't wait for the product to become white, when it does that means the product is of no use! Waxed myself when it was nice and golden and warm not hot and when I was done the ball changed into a greyish white. Always keep your hands moist not super wet and I be patient I swear. Or go on eBay and order a can of sugarpaste

I know this as Sugaring and I do it all the time. 1/2 cup of half water half lemon juice and then 2 cup of sugar and that's it. I also cook it a little bit longer until it becomes a darker color (but not burnt). I skip all the rest of your steps and then just put it in a bowl for it to cool on it's own until I'm ready to use it.

Hello! That means you just have to boil it a bit longer. This is basically a recipe for Caramel, and there can be hard or soft caramel depending on how long you cook it. So just cook it until it's a bit darker in your pan, maybe the color of honey.

This is basically candy. If you are having your wax get too hard, you are cooking your sugar to too high of a temperature. If it is becoming goo in your hands, you are not cooking it high enough. You probably want it between the firmball and hardball stages. I'm not sure which one, but that will get you closer. If you look up candy making, it will describe what how your heated mixture responds when a small amount is dropped into cool water based on temperature. Try this. It has temperatures and descriptions for if you don't have a thermometer.

Hi Maha, Thanks for the video. I have never waxed before, as I’m not a hairy person but I’m 50 now & started to see a little shadow grow over my upper lip. I know others go to salons to get waxing on different parts of their body. So I wanted to try ur remedy for my lip. I worked great! YAAAAAAS! I’m 😊 happy. I know my granite counter could have tolerated the wax but I used a plate instead but it was fine & so is my lip. Afterwards I used a little aloe Vera leaf & Shea butter to sooth the area. It’s a little red but it feels fine. No more upper lip shadow here!😉😊👍🏽

I tried this way but failed. I did it to see can i do that. Anyway i make my sugarpaste by : 10 tablespoons of sugar, half lemon juice (not squezzing out all thr juice, 2 tablespoons of water and 1 teaspoon of salt. Let it start boiling on highest heat. Mine is marked 1,2 n 3 as highest. So once it boiles i turn it down to 1.5 n let it boil slowly on low heat for 3-4 mins.Make sure u take care of the heat it's important to boil slowly. When it becomes golden color( light color, not brown) i put it in bowl n let it cool down. N when its completly cool i use it. Also if the paste isnt gud, try to change lemon, coz that can be a problem very often. No need for water, no need for stretching and burning fingers. Its already very soft and sticky ready for use. When the rest of paste becomes lil.hard i put it in microwave for 10 seconds n take more of it. In case i dont need it i put rest in fridge for the next time n again microwave it. Ive been doing this for a loooong time n i got this recipe from my yemeni friend. Hope it helps someone too. i apologize for my poor english grammar, since english isnt my first language

This worked out for me. Same recepie again n make sure u take care of heat. Highest untill boils.then go to lowest 3-4 mins. If i boil mine for 3 mins ( checking also the color make sure its not dark brown) i turn off heat completly at 3rd min. Hope this time works out for u

Thank you!!!! This one I had some success with on the 2nd batch substituting apple cider vinegar for the lemon juice. I think my lemon wasn't acid enough.. Was able to do my bikini line, just the outskirts, not a brazillian or anything. I think I'd be able to do my arms SUPER quick with this but my bikini line was a little too coarse. I was having the same problem with the sugar turning to liquid after the pulling. But not having to kneed it at all totally worked for me.

+elfi ylmz yes, a metal surface will do the work, another thing, dont use a porcelain plate, and preserve it in plastic

Use a glass baking dish, that how I did it and it worked out just fine.

You can also put the whole thing in ice water and play with it like that and just roll it around. The sugar at that stage will not absorb any cold water as long as there is sufficient ice in the water to keep it really cold. Using a candy spatula as well if you can use marble is good or playing with it in a good quality saute pan

I watched this video a few years ago and it was the best one on this topic. Now I came back because I forgot how to do this but found there is no sound on the video anymore. Is there any chance you might want to make a new one? I really liked your instruction.

Hmm... Just tried it. It went from OK to stringy/stretchy but didn't seem to get firmer as I was kneading it, I ended up throwing it out cuz it was just really runny and I took some leftover wax and I hot potatoed it and then it seemed too firm and wasn't sticky at all... I microwaved for 10 seconds and it got SLIGHTLY sticky.. I tested it and it worked on some parts but then it stopped sticking to my skin.. So I give up lol I'll just use my usual wax.. >.

I had just the same problem. It's because of the temperature. Cook the sugar-mix with a little higher temperature. That should Werk out just fine. But don't use too high heat, otherwise the wax will become too hard. :-)

I'm making some right now, I've had the same problem my last two attempts (it came out like regular wax) but I'll try cooking it at a higher temp today and see what happens
