I would say this; I STILL love my XF8; not going anywhere. But this is a HUGE improvement over the regular Montage! The pianos sound more robust and somewhat warmer than the old Montage. I would love to hear more electric pianos and orchestral sounds but the pianos (along with your playing) sounds beautiful. I think Yamaha did pretty good on this!🤨🎹🎶👍🏾
And so would I (also as an owner of an XF8)! Really debating whether to trade or sell the XF8 for the Montage M8X (don't have the space for two 88key boards). Andrew did and excellent overview of the XF8 ("Is the XF8 still worth it in 2024?"). But that focused strictly on its sounds. Would like to hear Andrew's comparison of other attributes - like keybed action and arpeggiation/pattern sequencing.
@etpslick100 I had a very bad experience with Montage M8X in a shop here in Italy. Headphone amplifier inside the workstation is very weak. I couldn't appreciate the presets. Same headphone with a Yamaha YC88 and with a Nord Stage4 was working perfectly... Try to listen to it on a fine loudspeaker system!
The moment i saw this video i clicked not to hear what them pianos sounded like. I'm just really in need of hearing some refreshing playing. In the middle of a crazy moment. I needed this
@3:04 i loved the way you played draw me close to you!!!!i really wish i could be drawn close to being able to afford the 4000 dollars it costs to buy this fine keyboard but they almost always make all the really really good ones so out of reach for anyone like me. I think they over price them on purpose My fav piano is the Nashville and the hamburg
@ yea i think they make it overpriced on purpose so only the high end money making professionals like huge artists that play for big venues can afford them. It’s just not fare man. I saw trans siberian orchestra and they had one and of course they will! It makes you wonder if any of these keyboard companies will ever make a 2500 dollar one with similar features for us broke people like myself. That guy over at andertons that you get to play with prob has a blast getting to try all of them lol
@ i own the kawai mp7se, it has a midi thru port! I bet you the kawai with the modx8 on top would be a killer rig! Not a fan of most other brands, the only other keyboard that has a great tuning I’ve been drooling over has been the Kurzweil k2700, but I’ve been so attached to the sk concert grand on my mp7se and their eps, that i have been so hesitant to want to swap out because I’m afraid that I’ll regret and lose out on quality but that k2700 seems to be really killer to like the modx8 I want to have something that will make up for some of the out dated sounding tones on the kawai. Sooooo 2700 or modx8 hmmmmmm lmao, you’re the only person i know that might have been in my situation, i have a few gigs coming up and its been the hardest decision. I want to have the most authentic sound possible with good usable synths
Nice, thank you for the demonstration on the Montage M8X❤🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 ONE question How much Release did you take away? Because on some praise and Worship scene the Piano sounded really snappy(in my opinion to much)😅😊 (Not saying that it's bad‼️) Or is that by default?
Hey Andrew do you mind sharing the individual patches you used for your praise and worship scenes? Also were the click tracks from the montage or your laptop? Thanks as always!
The Praise and Worship patch is actually a stock sound on the M8X, the piano is the CFX piano, the bells were JPop, I believe the synth was the synth brass patch and the click tracks are also in the board
It would be great if the led line beside the fader knob when you move it automatik snab to the faderknob. Instead of how it is today where you have to move the fader to the place on the led line where it goes to. And first then can move the fader. This chance would be great and very helpful and spare you time especially live.
Good demonstration congratulations, I just bought the Montage M8 but I feel that it is very heavy to touch and I feel that it has a little latency, do you had the same feel?
Don't forget to adjust the default velocity setting upwards because the 64 can kill the waveform layers not sure why Yamaha likes to kill the waveforms.
hey bro i’m planning on putting down on a modx8 since i’m only left with a small 61 midi keyboard I use at my church, do you thing it’s a good board overall?
Some of these are on there but not the majority of the EP sounds. The YC and CP have around 10 sounds for acoustic and E Piano so the Montage has a whole lot more
At this point, I'm here mainly to hear him play💯💯💯
Appreciate that!!
fr he's amazing
I clicked to hear the sounds, but I put that aside after I heard him play!! Well done!!! You should consider giving lesson on youtube etc

@@benhaim2098So would I. Just hearing it thru headphones is not enough. 🤨🎹🎶👍🏾

@ the best bet is to get a MODX8+ it has a weaker keybed but all the same sounds

Hi Andrew, great playing as usual! Which piano is your favorite and which one do you find yourself using most in church or when giging?
Hey Andrew do you mind sharing the individual patches you used for your praise and worship scenes? Also were the click tracks from the montage or your laptop? Thanks as always!

Nice 🖤
You play so beautifully! How long have you been playing? I'm guessing since you were 3!
Thanks so much!! And close, I started around 5 lol
What song were u playing on the C7? it sounds nice!
How would you compare the sound and action of the M8x pianos with that of the YC88?
The feel is very similar, both feel like an acoustic grand piano to me. The sound is very similar but there are a lot more options on the M8X
@@AndrewMcKain thanks bro, I appreciate you

Hi, do you think is it worth it to upgrade from yamaha montage 8 to yamaha montage m8x?
Good demonstration congratulations, I just bought the Montage M8 but I feel that it is very heavy to touch and I feel that it has a little latency, do you had the same feel?
Thanks! I know the keys are different from the original Montage but I think it takes some getting used to, I like them
Don't forget to adjust the default velocity setting upwards because the 64 can kill the waveform layers not sure why Yamaha likes to kill the waveforms.
hey bro i’m planning on putting down on a modx8 since i’m only left with a small 61 midi keyboard I use at my church, do you thing it’s a good board overall?
It definitely is a good board, you’d just have to get used to the keybed
Do you know if these piano samples are the same on the YC, CP series?
Some of these are on there but not the majority of the EP sounds. The YC and CP have around 10 sounds for acoustic and E Piano so the Montage has a whole lot more
What can you say about this board compare to the XF8 ?? Thanks
I like it a lot better lol it’s way more advanced
