Rotating type needs wisdom & clear judgement, it can protect you but not all times, true it got a limited attacking range - but depending on your usage you can make it a double-edged sword, the direction type can be counted as a mass destruction weapon, but since you can't move when pointing the laser until you release the R1 button after aiming in a certain degree wil make it a weakness, each type needs a different kind of techniques to master it's usability :)

@aliultimate009 Thanks for this awesome demo video of Gradius V. This is one of my all time classic, side-scrolling favs from ps2. I still play it from time to time in PCSX2. I particularly like the fact that you posted the time shortcuts for each of the stages because I always wanted to see what else lied beyond stage 4 which is as far as I've ever gotten in this game and I always thought that was the final stage. I never found out what other stages lied beyond stage 4, until now because I was never able to finish it. I kept getting stabbed by those f**king, rhino-like horns, that come out at random times.
Thanks 😊 Keep playing the game for about 17 hours then you should see your credits increases until you unlock free credit which will enable you to play with endless continues 👍 The total gameplay hours are counted every time you exit the gameplay back to the main menu or after game over. Every hour you play - gives you one extra credit after exiting gameplay or game over.
@@aliultimate009 Oh I didn't know about that. I don't know if the PCSX2 iso version has that feature though. All ps2 games I like I have 'em now in my computer as iso's. I no longer use any consoles for gaming. Any games I wanna play I play 'em in my gaming pc. Classic games from old consoles like SuperNES, N64, PS2, PS4 etc..I got them saved in my pc as iso's and play 'em in multiple emulators so I don't know if the iso version of Gradius V has that feature you're talking about.
@@JAMSTUBE All versions of Gradius V has it. It is not a feature , but rather one of parts of the game concept. They're only different on the available languages and maybe the screen refresh rate Hz ( PAL or NTSC format ) Also what you call versions of PCSX2 - the PCSX2 is not a platform to call this part of the in-game concept as a feature because PCSX2 is just an emulation - just like a working engine for the PS2 games to work on a certain system.
@@aliultimate009 Thanks for the info. I did played this game today for a while and YES, you're right about the credits increase. The credits increase after about an hour or so of play. I played for about two hours, this game is addictive as hell, and did noticed an increase on the credits twice. The only thing that sucks is that after I'm killed and all of my credits are used up, PCSX2 auto-saves the progress but that doesn't mean that the next time around I start at the last stage I left off from. It does gives me the option to replay that stage if I want to but, if I manage to kill the boss it doesn't progress onto the next level, it just brings me back to the main menu. In order for me to progress onto the next level I have to start the main game from the beginning, which sucks. The only thing that helps is the fact that the credits increase the more I play, which gives me more chances to go further in the game though.
@@JAMSTUBE Use the stage select mode for practice then select game start and keep clearing the stages until you unlock the next stages in stage select mode 👍
I'd love an HD rerelease of this game. Closest we got outside of emulation was a digital PS3 version which was great but I'm just waiting for the day Konami puts it on all platforms officially in HD, hell remastered in HDR would be phenomenal. Years ago I would've strongly doubted the possibility but surprisingly Konami have more recently been getting their legacy content released in compilations. Even Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games; it's still hard to believe they took the necessary steps to make that one happen.
The PS3 emulation was bad actually. The game response to the buttons has a little lag and there is a glitch which happens against the boss rush on stage 6 against Circle Core when the cage appears.
More like: The ideal choice based on the stages designs. If you play on high loops - it is almost impossible to clear all stages on high loops with other than Direction Type.
Did anyone realize that when the protagonists got two T-301s they could have just charged in separately into the two sides of the mothership and take out the Gofer brain without having to go through 6-level-worth of trouble to time warp? Biggest plot hole of the Gradius series XD But still awesome game and awesome 2P playthrough :D
You do realize that a second player is considered not canon to the story and just a way to let both players enjoys the same experience ? 😅 Also - even if they both destroyed it - the timeline event forces them to make an endless loop because the ship in the present which came from the future is already around at the same time during the next 5 stages which is why the pilot planned the idea AFTER witnessing the ship again at the end of the game. It's a mind boggling time paradox.
@@aliultimate009 Yes I do understand that and I played through the game with another friend before. I'm just wondering that if I were in the protagonist team first time going through the journey, only to realize in the end that we could have just taken out the ship by splitting up the team...LOL
You said it 😆 Realized after reaching the end 😆 Is exactly the logical reaction since the Vic Viper pilot will always be surprised since it's the first time experience for him at the beginning of the game based on the story 😅

aliultimate009 yeah, the SNES era of konami was a hardcore test of skills, like Contra, sunset riders, tmnt and so on. The soundtrack also was very rad. We only can hope that they return into something, meanwhile revive the old school :)
If we talk about Gradius - actually the SNES is the easiest in the series X) As i know SNES only has Gradius III. The truly fairly difficult classics are the MSX titles when played on higher loops which are : 1- Gradius / Nemesis MSX. 2- Salamander MSX. 3- Gradius 2 / Nemesis 2 MSX. 4- Nemesis 3 The Eve of Destruction / Gofer No Yabou Episode 2. And exceptionally since this title right now can be concidered a classic : Gradius Gaiden ( In Gradius Collection for PSP - without slow down mode )
You're welcome 😁 I'm actually not good in japanese, but i'm trying what i can 😌 Loop 10 is actually the max difficulty where the game difficulty locks. Because i tried loop 11 and higher loops then i noticed that they're the same as loop 10.

The truly fairly difficult classics are the MSX titles when played on higher loops which are :
1- Gradius / Nemesis MSX.
2- Salamander MSX.
3- Gradius 2 / Nemesis 2 MSX.
4- Nemesis 3 The Eve of Destruction / Gofer No Yabou Episode 2.
And exceptionally since this title right now can be concidered a classic :
Gradius Gaiden ( In Gradius Collection for PSP - without slow down mode )
Gotta do it again in loop 10... Man I miss gaming...
Gradius 5 in this mode is very difficult
Good game
Oh!! Awesome!!
こんな難しいの出来ねぇw
難易度高すぎ
これノーコンテニュークリア
出来る人いるの?
しかし綺麗な画面だな〜
Korewa Loop 1 desu.
Loop 10 Max.
Loop 10 wa muchakucha-desu 😅
Loop 10 is crazy!
Thank you very much for replying in Japanese. It's even more difficult with 10LOOP.
You're welcome 😁
I'm actually not good in japanese, but i'm trying what i can 😌
Loop 10 is actually the max difficulty where the game difficulty locks.
Because i tried loop 11 and higher loops then i noticed that they're the same as loop 10.
14:50 ;) That's so cool. Back in the old days, when 2 Friends played on the same Console. You take the Power Up, i have more Firepower (Contra) You take the Barbeque (Final Fight, SoR) i have more Energy ;)
Hey wait for me (Ice Climber :D )
グラディウスもここまで
進化したんですね

すげー笑
敵のパターンすでに読んでるシーンも多いし、見てて面白いですよね。
aweeessoommmee, love this game
懐かしい、昔めっちゃやったなぁ
This game looks beautiful, like SNES on steroids,
I don't understand the obsession with the Gradius III SNES title with most people, Gradius II SNES is overrated if you ask me
Snes graphics has nothing on this game. Imo, this game's graphics remind me of Ikaruga
@@DanielAyy No wonder it reminds you of Ikaruga because Treasure had a hand on this game X)
Hiroshi Luchi i think the name of the master mind behind Ikaruga X)
@@aliultimate009 Ah, you're totally right, I forgot Treasure developed this x)
i had no idea this game was co-op o.o looks fantastic!
Ya'lls teamwork is very impressive
Really ? 😅
But we ruined it at the second half of the game 😅
If despite all of that that we are still impressive to you then in both ways - thanks 😁
Why isn't this game being ported all over the place? I missed this title on PS2 and would love it to be brought over to the Switch. Love shooters and this looks like one of the best.
Paul Branwhite
This title ( Gadius V ) is a PlayStation exclusive.
and i thought my friend and me were good. but these two are beasts
great work
epic... no more words...
Maybe you guys already know this but: The Player 2's ship is the Lord British from Salamander
Nope X)
It's Vic Viper T-301 but painted red because if you started as Player 2 - same script will be applied to P2 :)
Lord British from Salamander is a totally different ship
aliultimate009 I've seen Gradius Gaiden, but the Lord British's color reminds me of a Player 2 Vic Viper!
+Anderson Gutierrez Only in Color but the shape is very different :)
aliultimate009 Maybe I found out: The Lord British doesn't have a split front like the Vic Viper.
+Anderson Gutierrez Indeed :)
Maybe one day they'll finally make a Gradius where the final boss is actually a credible threat.
Dr.Venom from Gradius 2 MSX would like to have a word with you ( giggles ) 😅
SUBSCRIBED, you guys are freaking awesome!
グラティスシリーズでこんなんあったんだ。知らなかった。
IIの正統な後継だと今でも思っています
I wish this was on PC someday
背景がすごい!
俺の持ってた沙羅曼蛇とぜんぜん違う!
もしもグラディウス6が出たらいったいどんなグラフィックになるのか胸躍りますよね。
San Pata 6出て欲しいですよね
Very entertaining, especially with your occasional notes.
And yes, it's been too long since you've uploaded Gradius V. =)
Big bro -> Vic Viper ~Zero~
Little sis -> Vic Viper -~Sakura~
*S I B L I N G G O A L S*
Mine is the Blue Vic Viper :)
Her ship is the Red Vic Viper :)
You did another walkthrough of Gradius V, in 2 player mode? :O Awesome! ^_^
to AZD :
i've seen a video for a player against Blaster Cannon Core staying against him until it withdrawn from the battle and he survived against his withdrawing approach :)
Gutted that Konami have let Gradius die it has been a part of my life for over 20 years :(
They've released Gradius the slot ( machine - i think that's what it was called ) also a Gradius RPG on cellphone ... it's unforgivable for them to let a legendary series like it to die like this.
Its killing the forum too hardly anything new in there these days.
It's irritating to say this but i agree with that
The force field miss killed me lol
Of course blasting the crap out of everything is the go to strategy of Gradius. ^^
excellent
Thanks :)
Damn. I wish i could even speak to my sister without wanting to laser her xD
that first stage boss would have killed me atleast 4 times lol
Then don't face him ( Bigcore Rev 1.2 ) on loop 10 XD
