I can hardly believe how much of my old age is spent following a charming young man clearing drains, gulleys etc.. Fascinating!!.. Many thanks post10. Keep up the good work. Greetings from your no. 1 fan in Ireland.
This isn’t really dangerous, BUT this is NOT to be done solo. The largest danger is hypothermia. Even falling in the current and bouncing through the pipe, will just bark up a person some. But once you get severely cold, you might not even be able to get up to pickup. Hopefully he has a buddy with, not something to do without a “spotter”!
Wow! That was a real decent dam. Beaver are saying ah crap, he's back again. Ah man. Removing the mess in the 2nd pipe will take forever. Liked the shot of the beaver in the water. You could actually see it. Thanks Postie for another great video.
Meanwhile nearby the beavers are eating dinner, proud of their work when all of a sudden, they hear a voice outside only to realize it’s Post 10! Great there goes our evening lol 😆! Awesome work bro, the sound of rushing water is so therapeutic and relaxing 😎, way to go man!!!!
That lodge shocked me. It was like walking into an Alien nest. I knew the Beavers were clever but wow, that was disturbingly good. So glad we got to be there with you. Absolute pleasure. As ever. Excellent work Sir. Love from Liverpool UK
Speaking with very little knowledge, so I may be completely wrong, but I thought that lodges were always built in the flood pools created by the dams and not on the down stream side. By building their lodges in deep pools with the only entrances well submerged they have great security from land based predators, and they are effectively windproof so that enables the beavers to maintain at least a minimum of heat while bringing up their young. No doubt an expert will shoot me down in flames. . . .
I have watched you do so many of these, I’ve become an armchair unclogged! I watch and say, “Pull that branch, grab that clump!” Thanks for the videos!
Thank you for bringing us this excellent video presentation, it was very impressive watching you break the back of the dam and the water just started flowing. It is great also to see the level drop. The people have really appreciated this great video and the work you have done in protecting this road for the community.
As a native Montanan I share your respect for the beaver who has it's place in nature. Some of the best Brook trout fishing I've encountered has been in beaver dams on the Smith River. Back east they're a rodent like mice.
I love seeing your progression as a UA-camr, Post10. Your videos used to be a lot more chaotic and disorganized but you've found your groove and clearly gotten more comfortable being on camera. My girlfriends daughter is learning about water pollutants in school and she thinks your videos would be nice to show her teacher because you're very educational. As a fellow New Englander I vibe with you, man. You teach me stuff and you give me nostalgia for my hometown. Keepnat it and your editing and style will only improve. Have a good one, buddy.
It is fascinating seeing what you do up close and capturing the whole area then doing it in time lapse showing the overall effect from before to after in short measure completes the story and what you accomplish. Very entertaining and educational. Your commentary is the educational part. Love it. 👍👍👍👍👍
You need a hay hook. About 30 inches long would do nicely. You hook into the top and pull or break apart the sticks, leaving a furrow for the water to work in.
I quite like this series about these huge culverts, they have their own charm (and also partly the unclogging processes across the videos). It is not old (or might be to others), but it is still gold.
First post 10 seemed to be the underdog, and I was rooting for him. Now the beaver seems to be the underdog, and now I’m rooting for the beaver. If post 10 gets chased around the swamp by an angry beaver I’ll be rooting for post 10 again. DRAIN THAT SWAMP. LGB

You’re taking a big risk by being on top of the dam with your back facing the pond. The second you bend down to pull a branch out a beaver could swim up and bite your rear end 😂 Needless to say I love the content as always!
Much appreciation for the length of your videos. Its nice to see something in as much detail as possible. I like that you take time to be thoughtful as you are and then share that.

Yeah, Post has said a few times that he doesn't use chest waders because of the current and if they filled up he wouldn't be able to get out if he fell and got carried along. Makes sense to me, since you usually see chest waders on fly fishermen and they're in still water.

So how many other people sit yelling at the screen to just move the log to the left or keep pulling, its going! So much fun to watch and as a participation sport! What we want now is a video of the beavers building the dams then post deleting it, a before and after shot!

Try bringing a crow bar for the last bit, you won’t have to get your hands as cold and can drag the sticks and mud up easier
I was just about to comment that a crowbar would probably make really quick work of these dams.
Or you can use a potato rake it is a smaller hard metal rake with longer tines
