This is awesome and so soothing!! I actually got to do this type of work when I worked for the DOT back in the mid 90s. Busting beaver dams was just like he said, a lot of fun!! I remember one beaver dam we busted was blocking an 8ft X 8ft concrete tunnel underneath a highway. Me and 2 other guys walked through the tunnel and the beavers had stacked limbs, mud, and logs all the way up and across the tunnel. The pond was 10 feet deep or better. It was too dangerous to break up the dam in the tunnel so we had a spider machine climb down the embankment where the beaver dam was. A spider machine is basically a backhoe with wheels in the back and these claws on the front end. That way the machine would climb almost any hill because those claws would hold it in place. When that bucket broke through the dam, it sounded like a freight train going through the 8ft x 8ft tunnel. We ran as fast as we could to the other end and it was awesome! The water was blasting out of the 8ft X 8ft opening and the force was so strong it was knocking trees down. We could feel the ground shaking because the water was blasting out of the tunnel with so much force. When we went back to the other side where the dam used to be, there was a huge whirlpool. It only took 15 minutes for the pond to empty completely. It was cool to see all the open land once the water was gone. I got to see a few other beaver dams busted while working there, but none were as cool as that one.

This has to be the crown jewel of culvert unclogging videos. So much dramatic footage. I loved in the 17 minute area when the large mass of dam starts moving all around you. Then how relentless the water was. It would stop under the rust line, then as you removed more it would top over it again and again.
I was very relieved to read that you have specific training in this because, yes, it worries me the things you do! I worry about your safety especially if you are out there by yourself. I also read what you said that you are now going out with an OSHA person which made me feel some better. I respect what you do but I worry about what if you fall (like on slippery rocks which does happen in water!!) and hit your head and you are unconscious under water if you are alone.I don't EVER want to hear of anything bad happening to you! Okay, so all that said, please be careful!!!!
You wouldn't catch me down that pipe without at the very least a pony bottle! Would NOT want to be inside a pipe with hundreds of tonnes of water pressure behind it trying to actively release that pressure unless I had a guaranteed supply of air in case of a wash-out.

Just a few observations: Small arms fire aside, I think that's the most dangerous culvert you've ever cleared. Just crazy. I'm happy you had someone with you. You may very well have been washed out the other end. It wouldn't have been pretty. Nice job!
It's a rough choice with culvert failure and beaver dams. When they have had enough time to become problematic, they have also had enough time to establish a new wetland habitat. Balancing the conservation side and the municipal side because of municipal failure to maintain is tricky.

Glad im seeing gloves. Glad you have someone with you when you are doing this dangerous work. Next time bring a tarp or two or three. Layer them behind you. Push all the stuff you are removing and taking out of there on to the tarp behind you then bag it all in the first tarp and pull it out of the culvert. Then do the same w the second tarp...then the third. At least you actually remove it from the culvert and you aren't entraping yourself as you go along. Also wear a dust mask. You can inhale serious particles that could negatively affect your health.

I’ve had a few dangerous situations involving the beavers. I’ve still never learned my lesson. 🦫 Honestly, this may be your greatest culvert video ever my friend. It takes balls to do what you did here.
Beavers are very intelligent engineers they understand that if the water stops running through the culvert mission accomplished . Animals are really amazing
Has anyone ever contacted you thanking you for bringing attention to the stuff you discover on this channel? That rotted pipe potentially washing out the road seems incredibly dangerous to me.
It’s pretty rare for them to give out while someone is on it. And when they do give out it’s pretty gradual. Most of the strength of a road with a culvert in it comes from the soil packed against the culvert rather than the culvert itself
@@PlatoonGoon absolutely, but the chances they form so quickly that someone actually gets injured from them is so astronomically low that it’s not an issue. So long as people maintain their culverts there shouldn’t be an issue
@@airplanemaniacgaming7877 The road isn't sinking, materials are being carried away by flowing water or gaps in the pipe, the sinkholes in roads above culverts form the same way as the hole forms in the top half of the sand in an hour glass

@@bobleonard7122 Dude you need to relax! It was a joke. You went off on a whole tangent and apparently couldn't tell that I was joking. 19 thumbs up and a heart from the man Post10 himself obviously got the joke.

Different type of beaver my friend...
With a simple tool and good will, this man makes all the diference. Deserves an honour or a medal.
Post 10 getting the rake is equivalent to IP Man rolling up his sleeves. Shit's about to get real.
Agreed
Yep yep
I am glad to see you are taking a friend with you. I have been concerned when you are so far away from anyone to help in case of an emergency. As always, great job Post 10!!
I agree safety is very important 👍
Same. This is dangerous work, i've always been a bit worried.

Post10: "Come on, clog! Come down here!!" LOL that was great!
WHO'S A GOOD CLOG
This was my favorite quote too!
This is the best one so far. That time lapse of it going down I've never seen anything like that. Thank you.
i know this is an old video but absolutely love the time lapse of the draining pond.
It's official, have been sucked into the Post 10 wormhole! Too much fun to watch these vids. Thank you.
This has to be the crown jewel of culvert unclogging videos. So much dramatic footage. I loved in the 17 minute area when the large mass of dam starts moving all around you. Then how relentless the water was. It would stop under the rust line, then as you removed more it would top over it again and again.
Watching you unclog the pipe was just the coolest thing. The scenery around you is gorgeous so glad you share it.
Rip his back tho
@@jasonthomas2556 fr tho💀

This was like watching a movie. I was thinking, pull the wrong stick out and a torrent was going to take you outta there. Also. Can’t remember the last time you were “pumped” about an unclogging. Glad you had a productive, safe and successful day Poster. Had me on the edge of my seat at times.
At least this movie didn't have politicians or back stabing spouses.
The timelapse of the lake is insane!
I need more of that
How did he post this 2 days ago ?
Those beavers are gonna be pissed!
We need more timelalses like that! It looked incredible!
@Autobot Star Platinum oh so he got to see the video earlier ok
I can't get over the fact that this bloke is an undercover superhero and nobody seems to realise it. "The Clog" is a great name for his nemesis.
That was a big clog 😮
It look really dangerous to unclog a culvert like that, even trained as you are !! Happy to know that there is another person with you if you need help 😄
Stay safe 🙂
thats why he only wears the high thigh boots instead of full on waders.🙂

Best phrase Ive ever heard on youtube, please turn that into merch, I would buy that T-shirt in a heartbeat.
Thank you for explaining about why you were not wearing chest waders. I had no idea that they would drag you down or prevent you from standing up. You did a great job of explaining what you were doing and why you were doing it. Thank you good job keep up the good work
I'm convinced post 10 could drain the Atlantic Ocean
Just a few observations: Small arms fire aside, I think that's the most dangerous culvert you've ever cleared. Just crazy. I'm happy you had someone with you. You may very well have been washed out the other end. It wouldn't have been pretty. Nice job!
It's a rough choice with culvert failure and beaver dams. When they have had enough time to become problematic, they have also had enough time to establish a new wetland habitat. Balancing the conservation side and the municipal side because of municipal failure to maintain is tricky.
That "Woohoo!" after you cleared the damn is so refreshing to hear someone genuinely excited about their work! Such a good video! Keep 'em up!
getting out of there as well would of been a good thing 21:28
i wish my autistic son could find something nice like unclogging culverts. Instead all he does is lock himself in his room and is convinced he's a woman now and my son demands I call him Debra.

Gonna say it…. This is Post’s best unclog video! Very well done.
Appreciate how you balance enthusiasm with caution. Amazing work, stay well.

Best unclogging of a culvert yet. Love the foliage too. Thanks Post 10. Stay safe and have fun.
This is one of the most satisfying videos I have seen in a long time! Between the total elimination of the dam & the dual attack of Post10 and the Hunter, those beavers had a bad day.
Your reply to the driver about “I’m hunting the clog” was freaking awesome! 🤣
Also, I love your channel and the work you do.
That was a big job all bent over like that, great job. Glad you have someone to watch your back.💚💚
"Post 10 the clog hunter." That has a nice ring to it.
You're a blessing to that community. Thank you for doing what you do!
The drawback time-lapse is crazy, but at least those culverts are not as bad when you compare them to the old lake drain.
Your dedication to clearing culverts is truly amazing. ☺️

"Almost all my body is covered with protective gear" = "I have gloves on" :-)
Don't be ridiculous, he also has boots on.
@@yocapo32 that's...not what they meant bruh.
When the beavers see the hunters:
Beavers: They don't have rakes so they aren't a threat
When beavers see Post 10:
Beavers: Great, there goes our pond again
Glad im seeing gloves. Glad you have someone with you when you are doing this dangerous work.
Next time bring a tarp or two or three. Layer them behind you. Push all the stuff you are removing and taking out of there on to the tarp behind you then bag it all in the first tarp and pull it out of the culvert. Then do the same w the second tarp...then the third. At least you actually remove it from the culvert and you aren't entraping yourself as you go along.
Also wear a dust mask. You can inhale serious particles that could negatively affect your health.
The way you say "idiot with an excavator" makes me feel like I know you personally. I also enjoyed the "OSHA Training" shout out. Lol. Really cool video. Always love watching someone who really enjoys their work. Thanks and stay safe!

@@Kairos318 now I know why the beavers were angry! Nickelodeon wasn't paying them enough! XD they should let Norb negotiate next time.

I am so grateful for finding Post 10. I can't imagine what life would be like without him.
@@trevorreid9142 But look at the road condition. That road is starting to sink.
@@trevorreid9142 isn't the formation of sinkholes the biggest threat? a mud slide and associated risks should still be considered and treated right.
IDK why but I'm addicted to your content. For some unknown reason it's amazing to fall asleep to!
i love the enthusiasm after clearing the whole thing... so satisfying to watch the water rise and clear all the debris
Why do we find these videos fascinating? Is it because a lot of us city dwellers would never see anything like this on a day to day basis and it's a way for us to get back to nature?
agreed
it's because we like to see a problem get sorted out. nowadays we especially appreciate men who solve problems rather than create them
It probably has more to with watching someone perform selfless acts just because the right thing to do. Far too few feel a sense of duty or responsibility to their community, let alone the flora and fauna around them.
You certainly have perseverances. It is good to hear your enthusiasm I can feel your satisfaction for a job well done. I am glad you truly enjoy your accomplishments.
