Removing Large Beaver Dam To Drain Flooded Road. Unclogging Culvert
Вставка
- Опубліковано 23 сер 2024
- I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Thanks for watching.

My doctor told me to find something positive to keep my head up during Covid. I told him about Post 10, and it actually help him with his depression as well!! You have changed so many peoples lives it’s amazing what you do for us!!
I love Post 10, because even the comments are positive! I appreciate that as well!
May I also recommend the channel KLR?
I have always been happier from watching his/their videos.
@James Marshalla ..... ditto, sir "down right 'therapeutic'" .... really relaxing ... the kind of 'few moments of inner peacefulness' that our whole existence needs so much more of , lately.
I've been clean & sober for over 2 years now. I found Post 10, his videos just put me in a different frame of mind.
Mine also…
As a plumber i appreciate your love of flowing water through pipes. These unclog videos hit my sweet spot!
Plumber myself. Same applies to me.
As a beaver lover, I say they will rebuild
I love when you show the time lapses of the beaver ponds draining, it’s amazing to see what changes you’ve made in protecting roads or other things.
It is good to see you wearing gloves! I have always feared that you would get cut/bitten/stung by something when you do this work. Thanks again for the content and keep staying safe!
I always think the same thing
I think it depends on where it is. When post is in areas that are closer to a city gloves are a lot more necessary but out in the middle of nowhere it is less likely that theres a needle or something dangerous like that.
Those latex dipped gloves are great. We use them to pick up broken glass and they can last for a couple of months at least😊
Or Vibrio vulnificus, the flesh eating bacteria gets into a small cut or scrape. You cannot be too careful or safe.
I cleaned out the storm drain at 7:00 yesterday morning down the hill from my house. My foot got soaked but I managed to clear it pretty well. By the time I came back (around 15-20 minutes later, it was nearly fully drained off the street. That felt pretty good. Now I've got the fever for it 👀
Great job 👍 you help road dont get broken
This makes no sense cuz he is in the middle of nowhere, no storm drains in this video
Your core strength must be incredible. My lower back hurts watching these videos. But man they are my favorite. Thank you.
I love watching your videos before I go to bed then I dream about how angry the beavers are when they discover their wrecked dams. I imagine they're like "Why?! Why would someone do this to our property? We werent bothering anybody!" Little do they know that they're comprising the structural integrity of the nearby road beds, which would eventually lead to a costly and potentially dangerous catastrophic failure. I know the beavers hate Post 10 but I consider him a friend and a hero.
Beavers will rebuild it so fast it's pointless to break down the dams without preventative measures.
Might even take more time for a human to take down a dam than it would take for the beavers to rebuild it again.
@@TyroRNG But it will drain the road, and the water will take a long time to rise up over the road in the not-so-wet seasons when they build it back.
I love how pro beaver you are and always take time to explain how positive they are for the environment in the right place. Thanks for the entertainment and the education.
No rake, no shovel, no problem. Thanks for the inspiration, your humanity and content.
See, a normal person doesn't think about beavers that much. Myself, never. But ever since I started watching these videos for the last year, you have taught me so much about beavers I fully understand their life now. It's pretty awesome. Thanks Postman.
Please, do not stop doing what you are doing. When I watch one of your videos, the next day I feel like it was me who had that outdoor experience, I love it oooh.
That looked like a really well-built beaver dam. Thanks for the video.
I agree, this covert looks tough..
That was an awful hard job to by hand sir. You really knocked it out of the park. Great video.
Man, that leech making a beeline for your leg was pretty creepy! I never knew they could swim that fast. Lessons learned! This was a great "episode!"
Now I know where some horror films got there ideas from.
Hey mate, dunno' if you're aware, but Post keeps his own leeches at home. There's a couple of videos he's put up about them. Fascinating creatures.
....can't say that I like having them as a surname though, lol.
Bro your video’s carry so much positivity for people. You helped/help so many people your videos are legendary. You’ve helped me many times with your video’s kept my head busy an focused rather than stay inside my own head. Keep it up bro your amazing
I am enjoying watching the sunshine where you are. It is snowy and sleeting and in the 30s here on the WA coast.
And please---don't knock the dyslexia. I know it can be frustrating at times, but it's an asset in neurodivergent and creative thinking. I will take that gift over an "inside the box" mindset any day! 💜
Heya posty! I'm a volunteer firefighter in Australia (40 years this year). Have you considered using a McLeod Tool / Rake Hoe for clearing beaver dams? They are an awesome bit of kit with a heavy rake on one side and a flat shart side for cutting and scraping the ground. I can't leave a link, but Walmart has them.
Those Yanks don't know what Mcleod Tool is haha. I suggested one a couple of years back. Former Brisbane council worker here :)
Great idea…
@@Me-qp8vz you realize this in US right
CHEERS Mate @@Me-qp8vz I live and work in the USA for the forestry service we have 2 -3 of the Mcleod Tools on my truck
Looked it up. Great tool.
That was a big one. So much fun watching all the water run. Such nice looking forests. Pesky beavers. Stay safe.
The deconstruction divided into its natural parts, featuring, eventually, the remarkable foundation those aquatic mammals built. Thanks, as always for sharing your experience for the good of all (except maybe a few lost tadpoles, or so).
wow these really do never get old! the satisfaction could last forever! keep these up😮
Clicking "Like" on a video is free, but it helps the channel a lot.
Don't knock your dyslexia, Post. It's our quirks and strangeness that make us who we are, and we like you. Always enjoy spending time with you at the culverts.
Great way to wrap up the weekend. Wind down with another good video from post 10. Your channel has been the best find on UA-cam for me.
Good job with just man power and hands Post, I watch a similar channel Kenislovas he is near the Baltic Sea he does Braver dam removal on the other side of the world. Can’t get enough of the fun and excitement that we don’t have in California. Been a fan for a few years of your channel thanks for all you do.
You should check out the videos posted by Gene Plumley. He's just done an epic series of clearing dams in the snow and ice to drain a large lake for a farmer, he's based north of Toronto. Shows us some follow up as well. I'm not keen on Kenislovas TBH, he always seems to leave the job half done.
@@excession3076, Ha yeah leave it to beavers to make it interesting. 🤙🏻I will check it out .
You are amazing to do this with your bare hands it shows how you really care with what you are doing. I wish someone would pay you for all your hard work
Hey Post! Ive really been enjoying your recent content. I love watching you deal with the beavers. Ever thought of trying to build a dam? Replicate the beavers technique? Seems like a fun experiment. Keep up the good work!
My back hurts for you. Is really neat watching the water start flowing. As most have said, us very relaxing, for us, sitting in our dry homes, watching you concur one beaver dam after another! Stay safe
It's great to see you back in your usual stomping grounds. Fantastic video. By the way, the birds you saw out west that look like ducks - black with white beaks - are actually coots. Thought you'd want to know!
This is a wonderful unclogging. I just relax listening to the water flowing. Seems like your back aches with your persistent work… Keep up the great videos. We need them!
There is something most satisfying in watching your videos thanks. Chris from England
I lived in Massachusetts for 50 travelled to all the northern states in New England and never knew there was a beaver problem or anything much about them, now im addicted to watching the videos! Especially because how much you look and talk like McLovin its just the Best! Keep up the great work
Looked to me like those birds were sandpipers, but I could be wrong.
Thanks for another great video!
I enjoy your exploring videos. The abandon houses, hotels, or anything abandoned are the best.
When the water started coming out the other end, it was black. Amazing. The things you do, and the reaults you get.
Half expected him to hold his hand up and call his rake like Thor
It is absolutely truly mesmerizing watching the time laps on the ponds drop in water levels!!!
An eager beaver always gets his damn work done. Happy Holidays everyone. Thanks for the videos Post.
My last time in Northern Manitoba, the beavers were so numerous, that they were building dams in the road ditches about every 0.5 kilometer. Swiftly followed by highway crews in pickup trucks tearing them down. Swiftly rebuilt by beavers.... you get the cycle.
WOW!!!!! You did that like a boss. Great work!
A slightly odd question but it would make an interesting video. What is the oddest and scariest man-made thing you have come across in the woods? Pet Semetary type things or things that have no explanation at all for being where they are. That would be fun. Enjoyed this video.
I love how much you know about the environment. I'm so glad you make these videos. I had no idea beavers were so awesome! I already thought they were pretty cool, but I didn't know they were rock stars!
Great work on this dam. It's never a dull day watching you do your thing.
You are our super hero, you always clear all to most debrees out and onto the side clean clean green, thank goodness for someone like you young fella, you do that with unconditional kindness, you rock 🎸 😉 👌 👍 💯 😘 🎸 😉 👌 👍 💯 😘
Great job ! Have to admire the humble beaver though, its natural born engineering skills makes it create such formidable dams out of sticks, rocks, mud and grass.
Rake or no rake, Post10 gets the job done 👏👏. Well done sir
Love your vids, stay safe out there!
You do a great job I'm because I suffer from depression COPD and sleep apnoea and seizures watching you do helps me with my day so heart felt thank you
Great job tearing that down! Thanks for another awesome video!
A huge beaver dam what a mess. So glad you could be there to unclog. God bless.
Good work once again.
Hoping the logging companies are donating to your channel for all the help you give them.
God bless
Feeding your rabid viewers, me being one of them..love the fact you post so often! Keep up the very awesome work 😊😊
That was a gnarly one. Good video
Great video, I learned a lot about beavers and their role in keeping the forest healthy
i like how you are alternating between your trip out west and the beavers!
It sure does look like a big long dump truck bed. That's on heck of a work out with out the rake! Great job 👍
I've seen a few people use a rubber tire chained to a vehicle once and chained to a manual come-along ratchet to clear the narrower culverts by dragging the tire through it. Extremely effective. I bet you could rig something similar.
I hope he gets well paid for on what dirty jobs he dose. He seems to be the only one that looks after everything 😊❤
Great Removal 👍 You put a lot of Hard work into this one.
Post I love the passion you have for helping the environment
It's kind of like watching Boss Ross paint. It just calming and very satisfying.
Loving how you are using the dam to make an even higher level to protect the road
Great job. Master of the beaver dams.
wow great job thank you for sharing love your videos!!!! so relaxing to watch and listen to
Oh man now that is a hands on video for dam removal for sure and you aced it again.
Love these videos. I'm still trying to finish watching the floating on logs video as well!
Soooooo very happy you’re back unclogging…… I always learn so much from you…thank you ….my favourite videos ❤😊❤
Now that was a heavy duty beaver dam, not anymore. I am thinking this would be a great video game "Angery Beavers and the Dam of Destiny" 👍🏼
dude you are one hard working guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As always, good stuff Post. Truly inspiring and peaceful.
Surprise there beavers meet post 10 have a good day I enjoy your videos dude good stuff thanx
Enjoy your videos brother
I can just see the beavers in their little home, watching your videos and being all "Post10 took down my dam! Squee! Let's put it back up, maybe he'll come back!" and all the beavers comparing their work by how long it took Post to take it apart. 😂😂😂
Idk why this is so relaxing and enjoyable to watch. Thank you and be safe out there. I be praying for you when you be going into the water etc. 😅
Watching from the Netherlands, discovered your work just this morning😊 you’re doing a fantastic job!
Good job! Love that you were requested for the job!! Can't wait for more! Hope life is well for you!
I can't believe you forgot your rake,Post! You will need to bring a back up from now on. :-) I guess your trail camera was still there. Glad no one came up on you taking a "bath" if you had more than your shirt off. Kinda awkward.:-) A perk being in the middle of nowhere. Great video!
Good camers setup. Good video..thanks from Oregon USA.
Hey Post, great video my wife and I loves your work keep it up be careful!
That was an enormous pile of wood and things. The beavers and you did a great job.
Lot of work Thank you for your efforts👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅✅✅✅✅
As strange as it sounds, your channel is great to watch to relieve stress. I enjoy watching. I would like to help too. I would enjoy doing what you do. Anyhoo... you are mesmerizing to watch. I watch to relax. Thanks for the long post. I hate those short 30-second videos. The long posts are the ones that keep me entertained! Keep up the great work.
I found you today by accident, and I use to work for my local Highway Dwpartment. I wa som the road crew and we use to clean culverts our that beavers would make dams.
I did just exactly what you did and that's not a easy job, you do it very well..
I always find the out loud dyslexia moments endearing. Mainly because I often have those wrong word moments too, though mine is due to ADHD.
Please be Careful....I can't express how much Your videos means to Me....They gave me courage to purchase my own place 😉 and to want to start back Camping Much Love 😘 Thank You Post 10 💕
It always amazes me how much water is trying get threw relocation sounds like a great deal for everyone involved have a great day peace
I love watching your vids, and I love that you have been able to see the western part of our beautiful country, but it would be nice if you could give a date when you made the ones you put in with them.
Reporter: What is it you do for a living?
Post 10: I just save the world, one culvert at a time.
You should probably correct that statement about Beaver pelts. Some would say we couldn't have settled the continent without beavers. I know Lewis and Clark depended on them. Europe couldn't get enough of them. They have a very warm fur which was instrumental in the survival of the settlers across the country. "Now days" they may not seem to be worth very much but growing up in the 1970's they were still highly valuable, and we ran trap lines for them.
I bet it's fun to see when the water comes out the other side in post production as you're watching what you were doing at the time and how far you've came along when it did
You know your videos are a great break from all of the nonsense on IG and FB. I’m not sure why I find these so interesting, but who cares. Keep doing you! Good stuff brother!
Oh my God!!! The beavers again??!!!!
Good job!!!
Glad to see you again. I like the extra camera so we see how much is coming out.
I love your excitement about nature!
I love your respect for the beavers.
The dump truck as a pipe is a great idea. Beavers will never clog it and the water will constantly flow. Never saw that before lol.
Beavers can clog anything
Thank you Karen for your scientific analysis 🧐. SMH there’s always 1. Lol
Hey Post! respect from WA state. I enjoyed the recent videos you did in WA state.
Here from Ohio! Eveyone else check in, here!
Saying hi from WA! :-)
Great stuff as always.
Post 10 you’re a natural.
A grafter too. Thank you.
Outdoor baths are great.
Such a gorgeous, inviting lake that’s full of leaches. wow!
Definitely bathe in running water, then you said ‘ green slime’ I burst out laughing. 😊
The difference here is that it’s never that warm for that long. 😊
Your video is interesting too because much of your landscapes remind me of bits of Scotland. Other scapes I’ve never seen.
No spare rake in your truck?Me? I tend to take too much 😆
Many thanks for another fabby video. All the best to you n yours.
You are a Star. Stay Bright.
the birds looked like the sand pipers we have in the uk, probably same species , see them at the coast aswell
Boy those beavers are master builders. That was one solid dam.
That is impressive!! All by hand! Great job Post10!!
POST 10 YOU REALY DOING A GREAT JOB , YOU DID GOOD WITH REMOVING THE DAM.
I love post 10 videos I think they are great to watch and very relaxing to watch 😊
