Removing Large Beaver Dam To Drain Flooded Road. Unclogging Culvert

  • I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Thanks for watching.

I cleaned out the storm drain at 7:00 yesterday morning down the hill from my house. My foot got soaked but I managed to clear it pretty well. By the time I came back (around 15-20 minutes later, it was nearly fully drained off the street. That felt pretty good. Now I've got the fever for it 👀

I love watching your videos before I go to bed then I dream about how angry the beavers are when they discover their wrecked dams. I imagine they're like "Why?! Why would someone do this to our property? We werent bothering anybody!" Little do they know that they're comprising the structural integrity of the nearby road beds, which would eventually lead to a costly and potentially dangerous catastrophic failure. I know the beavers hate Post 10 but I consider him a friend and a hero.

    • @TyroRNG
      @TyroRNG Рік тому +1

Beavers will rebuild it so fast it's pointless to break down the dams without preventative measures.
Might even take more time for a human to take down a dam than it would take for the beavers to rebuild it again.

You should probably correct that statement about Beaver pelts. Some would say we couldn't have settled the continent without beavers. I know Lewis and Clark depended on them. Europe couldn't get enough of them. They have a very warm fur which was instrumental in the survival of the settlers across the country. "Now days" they may not seem to be worth very much but growing up in the 1970's they were still highly valuable, and we ran trap lines for them.

I bet it's fun to see when the water comes out the other side in post production as you're watching what you were doing at the time and how far you've came along when it did

You know your videos are a great break from all of the nonsense on IG and FB. I’m not sure why I find these so interesting, but who cares. Keep doing you! Good stuff brother!

The dump truck as a pipe is a great idea. Beavers will never clog it and the water will constantly flow. Never saw that before lol.

    Great stuff as always.
    Post 10 you’re a natural.
    A grafter too. Thank you.
    Outdoor baths are great.
Such a gorgeous, inviting lake that’s full of leaches. wow!
Definitely bathe in running water, then you said ‘ green slime’ I burst out laughing. 😊
The difference here is that it’s never that warm for that long. 😊
Your video is interesting too because much of your landscapes remind me of bits of Scotland. Other scapes I’ve never seen.
No spare rake in your truck?Me? I tend to take too much 😆
Many thanks for another fabby video. All the best to you n yours.
You are a Star. Stay Bright.
