Really? That's very cool. I listened to Fuzzbox back in the 80's & nowadays, their music brings back great memories of that time period. And while I liked all the girls in the band, Tina was my absolute favorite. I thought she was one of the prettiest punk girls. And with a fantastic smile too... Anyway, I hope your auntie is doing well these days. Cheers!...
They evolved (or sold out) into a standard pop band, and either learned to play and sing, or had studio help-- But this early stuff seems so much more genuine, to me. It feels like they MEAN this.
there was the guy in orange county~ tom, his collection of fuzzbox was legendary. rodney bingenheimer worshipped them. he came on one sunday night like he was announcing the death of someone really famous and great and he gave warnings before he did it. he was about to announce "rescue" the disco fuzzzbox. that first album was produced in such a free but meticulous way. the playing was great the songs were fantastic the whole sound and spirit was more than the sum of its parts. Rodney Bingenheimer, Tom, LA Weekly critics, musicians- to many fuzzbox were not just a bright hair novelty, and when they went mall disco it was the end of somethimg quite original n timeless. no one was like them. ever will be.
I thought Tina was one of the most Gorgeous, Breathtakingly Beautiful girls ever... And after seeing all the videos i never got to before, I was Right. In love all over again.
Always loved Fuzzbox. My favourite was Tina. There was an interview with them, I think Mags says something like "Tina was going out with a guy, but she dumped him because he tried to spike his hair up and it kept falling down." At an early age I realised what my priorities were in life :D
Top band, never took themselves to serious unlike some of the knobs around today, sayin that they were still cool as fuck and all bang tidy. (thanks to richie e/port, 'you had a good ear bob')
They seem like Nice Punks. You never feel like you'd get knifed by Fuzzbox, or even get a mouthful of abuse. They probably wouldn't even be sarcastic to you. You might have to ask Jo to calm down a bit, but that's about it.
What a shame they became Fuzzbox. I've got Bostin' Steve Austin, and the splendid Rules & Regulations EP on vinyl which has their cartoon portraits scratched into one side.
Those slagging em off get on my nerves, this is how they started by themselves and then they were subjected to the corporate marketing of label bigwigs to make them more commercially viable, check out the difference on there later stuff, you have to commend them of having ago as a band and not some thrown together girl singing outfit, hate using the word band when most of em couldnt read a piece of music if they tried.
dang I remember Fuzzbox ( I had one of their singles) and I knew that they were called this before but never heard them like this back in the day. Now I have and TBH though this does kinda sound like a rubbish version of Siouxsie and the Banshees innit
Moseley ..kings Heath ..great women then and sounding and looking cool still now ..won't remember me ..Steve Emerson ..EMU ..WE GOT A FUZZBOX AND WERE GOING USE IT ..FIRST SONG WASNT IT BACK THEN ..I PROBERLY HAD A MOHICAN THEN ..GREENHILL RD MOSELEY 🇬🇧🧷OSP
I think you're missing what's these girls have got going going for them...THEY ARE AN ACTUAL BAND, In the truest sense of them ALL being able to play their own instruments AND write their own songs and until you can point to so and so from Little Minx and say "She's the bass player" or so and so from Girls Aloud and say "She's the guitarist" Those "Bands" if you can call them that pay other people to do all the thinking for them. Why should being female stop them from being able to play?
none of these negative commenters ever put on the album and just got the images out of their head and let it play for a side. same shit when winehouse broke big- getting called a spears-aguillera type thing. they never bothered to turn on the music. not comparing this to winehouse by the way, she is on her own level of course.
Well, they wanted to do it, they went for it, they did it. And they didn't take themselves too seriously and get all "Arty" about it. If that isn't Punk, I don't know what is.
The drummer (Tina) is my auntie 😆

Damn!
she's adorable
Can you send me her Autograph
She was fit back then !
Brilliant ! Especially Jo, such a tragic loss.
I paid good money for this album in 1986 and i loved it
...a lass spent 4 hours plaiting my hair(86/87ish) and l gave her this album as payment....it wasn't up to much...the lp or my hair...
lucky you a solid Investment have
fun
☠️💣☠️
I love this song, searched high and low to buy the EP in the eighties. Yes it is plastic punk but a real catchy bundle of energy, three chord wonders.
These guys are great they remind me of souxie and the banshees and sigue sigue Sputnik rolled into one crazy fuzzball.
Perfect description.
God Bless Jo may you rest in peace xx
I love the tune. What made fuzzbox so great was the rawness of their music. Very talented and raw on purpose.
They remind me of the JAMC
0.46 and 1.15 just fell in love with the drummer
They evolved (or sold out) into a standard pop band, and either learned to play and sing, or had studio help-- But this early stuff seems so much more genuine, to me. It feels like they MEAN this.
Spot on there, I had high hopes but the thought of super stardom spoilt what I feel could have evolved into a really good long term band.
It's a shame, they turned into a bangles clone, but they're re-formed a few times then and done some fun stuff.
I found the vinyl in a junk shop and it rocks! One side has cool portraits of the girls scratched into one side. Amazing.
Yep, I have had one as well
Yeah, picked one up as well in some basement record store in Camden Town in like 1990, it's... art. Really.
Still have the 12 n 7" of this. Also remember seeing this program, I was heavy into the indie scene back in the 80's
The cutest, funniest, most lovable band of all-time. :)
Really great hair
That drummer keeps smiling at me and winked. She's a real beauty. wow. think I'm in.
Dream on ;)
I was 18 and lived in London when they were happening ! Great times!!!
I thought they were Brummies.
@@rjjcms1 yea I believe so, but they were doingnsome gigs round London at the time of their record! Great times! Xo
This is better than anything - Tina's hair! Maggie's IDGAF attitude! Jo's guitar! And Vix holding it all together!
One of my favourite band
And thanks for this one for me!! RIP Jo.
Happy Birthday Tina
I loved them in all their incarnations.....and still do.
R.I.P. Jo ! Very sad news

RIP Jo Fuzzbox
A guy I worked with was the guitarist from a band called The Seers.
What is the TV programme Fuzzbox performing on?
I listened to them all the time when I was 11 and up. They shaped my life musically. Thank you Fuzzbox ❤❤

☠️💣☠️
Are you a Millenial ?
@@layditms2 hell no, Gen X

adorable band
Their early stuff is very much influenced by 60's garage.
serious B-52s influence too.
this is as 80's as you can get.
Sad news. Jo, us fans will miss you.
this song is more relevant today than it ever was
I have a few of their demo video's on video tape. Had most of them transferred by a friend but they never looked a clear as this.
Sentimental journey in the 80s😎👍
I thought Tina was one of the most Gorgeous, Breathtakingly Beautiful girls ever... And after seeing all the videos i never got to before, I was Right. In love all over again.
British girls in the 80s had the best looks.
The Spike Girls.
Always loved Fuzzbox. My favourite was Tina. There was an interview with them, I think Mags says something like "Tina was going out with a guy, but she dumped him because he tried to spike his hair up and it kept falling down." At an early age I realised what my priorities were in life :D

They seem like Nice Punks. You never feel like you'd get knifed by Fuzzbox, or even get a mouthful of abuse. They probably wouldn't even be sarcastic to you. You might have to ask Jo to calm down a bit, but that's about it.
Don't remember this one, can just about remember when they went pop and called themselves fuzzbox. Used to fancy the leggy lead singer.
@seriousbees It was in the 80s.
have i seen a vid with this bad and nirvana backstage chillin together?
I missed the whole "fuzz box" thing when this came out when I was a kid..
RIP Innocence
Lol. Same with that Who song "Squeezebox." I had a feeling it had some dirty connotations but I couldn't quite figure it out when I was a kid.
Yeah, no "fuzzboxes" any more! Brazil took care of that!

Did Tom and Rhonda ever move to London?
hello Victoria……!!
What a shame they became Fuzzbox. I've got Bostin' Steve Austin, and the splendid Rules & Regulations EP on vinyl which has their cartoon portraits scratched into one side.
Damn, I sold my copies, even an autographed 7 inch on pink vinyl, signed after a concert in 1985 in Paard van Troje, Den Haag. Happy Days.
Girl, girl, girl... let's gooooooooooooooooooool !!!
I just like it for the hair. That's a legit reason to like things right?
Those slagging em off get on my nerves, this is how they started by themselves and then they were subjected to the corporate marketing of label bigwigs to make them more commercially viable, check out the difference on there later stuff, you have to commend them of having ago as a band and not some thrown together girl singing outfit, hate using the word band when most of em couldnt read a piece of music if they tried.

A cross between bananarama and the bangles...
dang I remember Fuzzbox ( I had one of their singles) and I knew that they were called this before but never heard them like this back in the day. Now I have and TBH though this does kinda sound like a rubbish version of Siouxsie and the Banshees innit

What TV show was this. It rings a bell.
none of these negative commenters ever put on the album and just got the images out of their head and let it play for a side. same shit when winehouse broke big- getting called a spears-aguillera type thing. they never bothered to turn on the music. not comparing this to winehouse by the way, she is on her own level of course.
sad news may she RIP
is this about EU? :D
😮😂❤😅😊
your tambourine shouldn't be louder than your guitar- but thats probably the studio techs fault and not the band.. lol. But i love this act.
Like a really bad school version of the B52's.
This is so 80's that it seems like a parody
Sorry, Magz!
Well, they wanted to do it, they went for it, they did it. And they didn't take themselves too seriously and get all "Arty" about it. If that isn't Punk, I don't know what is.
Until the major record company got hold of them and made them change!!!
What's she like?
They started as punks
if distortion was fun
Drummer is super sexy 😮
Doctor Who Vibes Here 🎉
Mags all the way.
