I transfared this [Fuzzbox] from my Brothers Betamax to VHS back in the day along with about seven other pieces, I now have them on DVD and I'm still old school .
And that was the day I discoverd them. Still clear as day. Oh hang on, maybe it was on The Tube ? Christ it was a long time ago. Still got all the early vinyl releases and picture discs, including the 12" EP with their pictures etched onto one side !
I was a metal head back then. I read about them in some magazine. A musician myself I was intrigued by school aged multi instrumentalists. While I found it odd and a little confusing, I really loved it. I still pop in to listen to them on UA-cam now and then
I got into it when my Dad played a 7" of 'Love is the Slug' a few years ago. I'm a lot younger, born in the 90s, but love music from that time (especially post-punk). I found Fuzzbox's page on Facebook and now I'm able to connect with the members directly (they're quite open).
The titular fuzzbox sounds great here. That's quite the bass tone. I suspect the violin was a last minute thing - probably borrowed / found backstage. Both Vix and Magz have the mechanics of playing worked out but no idea how to make it sound musical. Perhaps that was the point. Well, it's a larf innit? 😂 I bet they were grateful it wasn't a tuba.
@@VanielDeeform Fuzzbox are my favourite band and I love The Cure! When did he say this!? I would love to know when and where he said this as I would be over the moon if he knew and like Fuzzbox!😁
Had a crush on all of them way back when I was 15 in real time. Formative years and whatnot. Good times. Still love the music.
Every time I come across Fuzzbox, I’m always thinking “whom is going to be playing what instrument this time!”
I saw them support Sique Sique Sputnik and thought they were great. Then this on the TV! Great days
Me to Kilburn Ballroom
Somewhere between the B-52's and X-ray Spex, really cool!

What a great collection of artists. The Cure are my favourite group while Fuzzbox and Killing Joke are high up on my list as well.

LOL those crazy hair fashion of that time.
The best of times!
Wonderful
Amazing :)
Can you imagine someone trying to pass this off these days!!!
made me laugh!
I guess student unions were maybe more influential in what underground bands got some press.
Everything wasn’t so bloody industrialised and processed.
True - stuff is a lot duller and tediously formulaic these days, let's hope these days will pass soon.
What do you even listen to? These are still the biggest selling 'girlband' that played their own instruments in UK history! Literal leaders!
I still have the cassette of this album! Cool to find this.
Bought it on cassette too
YEAH!! 😍😍
It's like blockbusters on acid
All girl band. That was rare even back then
Art-punk.
Reckon the Fuzzbox girls kick the cures ass !

4:25 The Cure boys don't cry
Thank god for the cure after the aural infection outbreak.
Tired of fuzzbox your tired of life
0:04:24 Waaaaaay better.
0:06:56 Killing Joke with Nighttime is also awsome.
I always thought the 1986 version of Boys Don't Cry was way overproduced, but Fuzzbox were great 😎
3/4 of them were 17. Plus, Robert Smith said he really liked them so... :)

Clearly, this band was better in theory than in practice, even if your Irony Meter is working.
Never saw them live then?
punk
this why you dont take lsd before you perform
Cure?
And The Almighty said unto Fuzzbox .. do not use the name of his son Jesus ..
The undeniable charming pleasant Fuzzbox and then a jolt to the crap and depressing Robert Smith.
Oh god this is dreadful
HOWARD JOHNSTONE dreadfully brilliant!
Dreadfully wonderful .......
Not everyone can appreciate cheeky rock and/or roll
You're entitled to your incorrect opinion.
Needed singing lessons.
Fuzzbox was awful to watch and they moan about Yoko Ono's singing it's literally like cats screaming 😂🫣😂🫣😂🫣
