FWIW: Trigger pull in my Lyman Gauge for the RXM: 4lb, 6 oz. This is the "compromise" of carrying to striker fired pistol. If you want a polymer gun with a safe but better trigger pull, carry a gun with with a manual safety or a double/single action gun like the CZ's I have previously reviewed.
If striker fired gun manufacturers gave the option of a good ergonomic safety, then they could lighten the trigger according the intended use and user. We have this ridiculous tradition of no safety on striker guns that came out of nowhere but I'm smarter than you between the ears so I don't need a manual safety. lol.
Sorry but there are far better Glock 19 Gen 3 clones already available on the market than the RXM. Three that I can name are 1) the Bul Armory Axe Tomahawk in both full size & compact versions 2) the Bul Armor Axe Hatchet in both full size & compact versions 3) The Emtan Ramon. (Note of these 3 the Emtan Ramon is not available for sale in the USA). All 3 are upgraded with features such as Tritium sights, front serrations, better triggers & can take Glock mags

I think there’s (partially) a good reason for that. A lot of the Glock clones are less reliable. PSA is a perfect example. The QC issues people complain about are real. after owning Glocks and Daggers, I would never trust a Dagger for an EDC/defense gun. Can you get a bad Glock? Sure, but it’s very very rare. My hope is that this Ruger is the answer to the PSA issue. It can provide a great deal of value at a price slightly higher than a Dagger, but $200-$250 less than a Glock MOS. Optics-ready out of the box, better optics mounting system than MOS, tritium sights, etc. The modularity is OK (I don’t care about it personally, but it’s cool). The trigger is about 1.5-2 pounds lighter, which is a pro and con, but may appeal to people who don’t love the Glock trigger. I’m used to the Glock grip angle, so I’d prefer a grip module at that angle. That said, I can see that this may appeal to people who complain about grip angle. I’m rooting for this gun. I don’t think these guys are out-Glocking Glock. They may be out-PSAing PSA.
This is the pistol that Glock should have made to take to the Military Trials. The sad part is it took a collaboration between two American companies to produce the modular pistol Glock refused to build.
The collab is awesome and im thinking more companies will follow suit, glad people are liking this specific release because that gives them more feedback to continue a successful collaboration and that's what i find more intriguing than this here pistol. Either way good things are happening!
They've been doing this but this is bigger and better. It's like autozone and advance to the glock world. Opens up companies like Icarus and etc. to make frames.
Based on gen 3 because the patent expired, but incorporates many gen 5 features; better trigger, front serrations, removed finger grooves, mag well, better texturing, better sights. Not really a gen3 glock anymore, which is a good thing.
Thanks for the review. I’ve held back on most “clones” for a while. I’ve held Daggers, P80’s, a lot of the Turkish 19’s, but this one interests me. I love that it has Prescott AZ on the frame, being an AZ guy myself. This should be a great companion to my other AZ firearm, the Extar EP9. Have a safe weekend sir.
I have also held off on the dagger. Almost bought one and the recover tactical PDW system for black Friday but held off. I got mine as a companion for my ep9. This might supercede it though if someone makes a PDW chassis which is honestly the main reason I bought it is banking on that. Sales guy said he heard a rumor someone is already working on one but he could have been blowing smoke up my ass for a sale. Either way I was happy with it after using the range rental yesterday. If nothing else it's going to be my owb suit carry for my parish safety team and wrol secondary once I get it kitted out.
I like the two-tone look. I really like the grip angle. I thought the one I saw felt good in my hand. I'd like to see a G17 sized frame and/or something with a little more palm swell. I may have to get one of these for myself.
For the record, you already CAN buy a new grip module for this on Magpul's website. Same size, but in black, and about $50 with shipping and tax. I won't post a link cuz UA-cam probably won't like that, but you can find it really easy with the old Google. I'd recommend ordering one now if you want it by Xmas!
Does the new FCU mean you’re stuck with whatever trigger they provide and can’t upgrade like on a normal Glock, or can that be changed from inside the FCU?
Pretty much anything can be modified if you want to. The only caveat is that the FCU components are almost certainly not compatible with normal glock trigger components, you'll need to wait for Apex/agency/whoever else to release RXM specific components I'd assume.
Bought one yesterday from Cabela's where I work $409.99 minus 7% discount. Have already changed slide ,mag release and slide lock with extended ones off of my gen 3 G23, perfect fit as well as my G19 mags. Caution the slide lock spring once you remove the slide lock will easily fall out if you turn gun upside down. Took me a minute to find it.
Bring on the black multi-cam grip! Since the grip has no inserts do you think they will come out with a frame geared toward women or smaller hands? Cool platform from Ruger and Magpul.

I’m seriously considering getting the RXM. I have kitted out PSA Dagger Compact, and I love it, but looks like a knock off, and also somewhat in the back of my head feels like it’s a “cheap” gun. And I’d like to change the look of my gun without changing the serial number. Magpul will probably come out with different grip designs, and think it’s brilliant DIY without loosing reliability! So hats off!
Glock is a gunfighters gun. As one who has shot and been shot, i dont want my glocks changing! I carried 1911s back when thats what we did. It took a while to realize the grip angle gives you point of aim when you punch the gun out when someone is shooting at you. As i said ... a gunfighter's gun.
Do you know exactly what parts are compatible with Gen 3 parts? Or maybe its easier to just say what's not compatible? I assume you could just slap a completed Gen 3 Glock slide on it but are all the parts held within the FCI compatible with Gen 3 Glock parts? It'd be great if it had issues, or they dropped support of the gun to know you could essentially rebuild the whole gun minus the frame and FCI chassis itself with Glock parts. I do recall some of the pins being shortened to fit inside the frame but that's not a big change.
Why does not one youtube expert talk about the material used in the slide or the barrel According to Ruger the barrel is alloy steel and the slide is through hardened alloy steel. For some reason no one mentions that. No trigger pull information? What's up with that? I prefer the stainless slide with a really nice finish over it. I also like a stainless barrel. I wonder what prompted Ruger to go with alloy? Also how are you supposed to git a grip frame from Ruger with no fire control unit if they are serialized in sets with the fire control unit?
