The transition of Bill Hader with the Willy Wonka music as he holds up Salò to 7:22 with Barry Jenkins on the ground saying "I am done" repeatedly is one of the funniest and perfect transitions I've ever seen!!! Love them!!
Last night I was rewatching Rumble Fish just out of respect for the Stewart Copeland soundtrack bits, and I ended up watching the whole thing again. I wanted to come back to a recording conversation that I’d been on and I got hooked. Mickey is devastating, Matt Dillon is the best that he’s ever been, Diane Lane is so generous and revealing, Dennis Hopper so wise… it’s Coppola’s masterpiece that goes under the radar ,
This is a great compilation! Wallace Shawn and Andre Gregory have such a reverence for all these films. I love Barry Jenkins' embarrassment at taking so many XD
I have no clue what any of these movies are the last movie I watched I only saw parts of. It was Midway from 1976. And the last tv show I watched was the original Magnum Pi.
@Paul Helfant The nostalgia I feel when I watch it is immense. I was a kid and my whole family gathered to watch it and each of my 4 family members loved a different character. Mine was Higgins.great times.
No shame in that. For me, a big part of Criterion Closet is about finding new titles I otherwise wouldn't have sought out. The visitor's selected films are usually listed at the end of each video or in the comments section.
I'd reccomend going to your local library, these dvds can be expensive. I live in a small town but my library still has like 15 criterion dvds. Plus it's always good to support a library :)
Hearing Bong Joon-Ho say Park Chan-Wok stole his copy was so good.
Hopefully Bong Joon-Ho is going to make a vengeance trilogy based on this
Good lord, that Salò bit. I wonder if this clip got anyone to watch that movie, thinking it might be a whimsical good time.
Knowing that Park Chan-Wook stole a DVD from Bong Joon-Ho, implying that they're friends, makes me so damn happy
god how i would have loved for michael cera to pontificate on the artistic merits of the emoji movie
xD

Those are my two favorite moments i was glad to see them back to back
At first I was a little put off because you typed "Wanka", but then you typed "Solo" which sort of balances things out in its own bizarre way.
@@Myiic nah it was Solo: A Star Wars Story ;)
Sorry for the confusion lol I fixed it
@@captainstrangiato961 lol Nice!
Bong Joon-Ho struggling to hold an armful of dvds is so cute and also me
I would pull out Transformers 2007 and say "Citizen Kane of car commercials right here!"
I would pull out Transformers The Movie (1986) and say “The Akira of toy commercials right here!”
4:19 this moment is just like "My Dinner with Andre" in real life
Love House and the two songs that makes up the entire soundtrack
One of the songs sounds like Welcome to the Black Parade. Once you know this you'll never unhear it XD

“How do you choose…AH REPULSION!”
🥰🥰🥰
I think we all want to Park Chan Wook come in and respond to Bong's accusation xD
yess i love watching these and the ones in this complition are definitely some of the best
#BillHader !!
It was fun seeing that guy say he's done over and over - then he sees a Jacques Tati collection. lol
I will go directly to the xxx section and pick The postman always comes twice and spend 30 minutes talking about it.
this video' wonderful, should be much more popular
I think it's funny that criterion is shooting these videos on a toaster quality hand cam
LMAO
Moral of the Story : Never lend Park Chan-Wok your copy of Medium Cool
my man. that thumbnail is fucking brilliant. i want the highres :D based picks indeed
After I found out that a guy gets turned into a pile of bananas in House that movie went way up in my watchlist
Thank u that was so nice
1:29 describes how I feel about every Godard movie tbh
That ending had me howling
Right?! 😆

What movie is the one they talk about at the start of the video?
House (1977, dir. Nobuhiko Obayashi)
“House”. It really is one of the craziest Japanese films ever made, but pretty fun
also why did Michael cera recommend close up??? lmaoooooo taste of cherry wouldve been betterrrrrrrrrr for friends atleast.
WHERE. IS. SLAVOJ ?!?!?!?
Unacceptable to have no Gaspar Noé in sight!
Wtf, where is the Emoji Movie? I was expecting some real kino and not some popcorn flicks.
I don't think I've seen a single one of these movies :/

Don't worry, there's plenty of time to catch up!
