The Wolfpack

Fun fact: The Criterion Closet was originally a bathroom
I'm such a lucky boy I can't wait to go home.
I related to him and Barry Jenkins most.
whole look of him is wild
my dog when we adopted him
Nathan Lane got me with the Liberace joke
I had to pause to calm down
I adore Nathan! He was robbed - he should have won an Oscar for The Birdcage - and Hank Azaria for best supporting!
Right off the bat.
Willem DaFoe has high on life energy times ten.
Having the biggest bird in Hollywood will give you that energy
Michael Cera making the vibes awkward while not being physically present is top level Michael Cera.
also the fact that he recommended close up for a "great time"
nathan lane losing his mind in the criterion closet is so fucking funny lmao
i love the wolfpack clip purely for the moment where they realize it's all for grabs and they go into overdrive looking for stuff
I would've added Gaspar Noé geeking out with the Blu Ray of Saló, but nothing tops Bill Hader's recommendation.
Also, Willem Dafoe grabbing Last Temptation of Christ will never stop being outrageously adorable.
"Yo-Fuckin'-Jimbo! Yes!!"
Ok the Wolfpack clip is genuinely very heartwarming given their story and their love of films.
Best one is when Richard E Grant picked up a film and said “Ingrid Bergman suffering away… love that.”
I forgot about and miss the old original closet. Seeing it in these clips reminds me how much more chaotic it was than the current closet.
Current closet is just more advertising
Honestly could’ve included John Waters entire closet video
Hard agree on that!
Can’t believe this has no Slavoj Zizek
“Murmur of the heart….where we have incest, I like this”
That’s because you’d have to put the whole video on there
One ov zose *sniff" nice frenzs movies in vyich *sniff" you have inzsest.
Yeah that video is wild, the part where he talks about the French movie.
@@antlerbraum2881 Yeah, it’s called Murmur of the Heart. My reply got deleted here because I quoted him using the “i word” LOL
Bill hader was wild for that
"Wow....this is a great date movie" (holds up Salo) 😂😂😂
I love Bill Hader, man
I never felt such a spiritual connection to Bill Hader.
I would have included the clip of Paul Dano dropping his first pick
Bless Criterion, I have over 300 titles. So many good movies. And important restoration work.
YEAAAH i was hoping John Darnielle would be in here
genuinely i think that's what every conversation with him sounds like, i love that man
“Fuck me up ozu” always gets me cuz it’s true
which video was that??
@@jashanramjee5507 patton oswald closet picks
If I'm ever in the Criterion Closet, I need to learn sleight of hand so I can pull out movies that should be there
immediately clicked on this after seeing the Viggo Mortensen closet pick video and going back to the home page LOL
Why does Michael Shannon look and act like he just pushed his mother off a cruise ship?
mother lost at sea
4:58 - Can't Blame He, It's The Complete Filmography of Jacques Tati!
Waiting patiently for someone to pick up Repo Man and wax poetic.
The Daniels do if I am not mistaken. They have a Repo Man reference in Everything Everywhere. I just love both those movies.
1:58 most New Yorker moment ever from Dafoe
big dick energy from Dafoe over there
He's just so darn charming.
His package is actually so big they had to find a stunt double to do a nude scene for him
And that’s not a joke
@@joshs4507as said by lars von trier.. ya know, the most reliable source.. lol weird fucking man
I see House in the thumbnail, I click.
Using the e-shop music is great, takes me back.
Boy I hope the point was to be a throwback, plenty people still try to use this unironically like it's trendy
Such a fun series. Nice edit, man.👍
“House” is my number one favorite film of all time
God I wish I was in the Criteron Closet right now.
Top shelf content right here dog. Exquisite curation 🤌
Nothing tops Zizek talking about incest on his closet picks
I also love when Alfonso Cuaron and Pawel Pawlikowski ignore the cameraman the entire time
Yo fucking Jimbo lives rent free in my head
Well done! Another chaotic one was Michael Kenneth Williams impersonating Chaplin.
From Omar Little to Charlie Chaplin
Oh, my, now I've GOT to look that up! Thanks!!
@@HooliaGee The very first Criterion Closet video. It’s at the very end.
she (literally all of them) is just like me for real 😌
It is reassuring to see people go off and take a lot of movies. Because, gang, this is the closest thing to the Nickelodeon Super Toy Run that adulthood has to offer.
michael shannon could rip me in half…
It might not make for a good video, but I would only pick movies I haven’t seen. Best to take the opportunity to get some no-risk blind “buys.”
bill hader showing his house shirt is my favorite
Oh shit seeing the Wolf Pack boys in there made me happy
I need a House shirt
Michael Shannon is one lucky boy
LOL I always thought those Criterion Collection videos where very scripted and elegant with exquisite commentaries from its' guests
It isn’t a chaotic clip but I always think about the semi awkward chat between Wally Shawn & Andre Gregory talking about Westerns in the Criterion closet, one of my favourite clips ever
WILLEM DAFOE IS SO SOFT IM SOBBING
I wish I could be at a point in my career where I get invited to one of these 😢
You'll get there gl
i dont id be too uncultured to know anything thats there
@@davebob4973 That's okay!
Wii shop music 🤣
7 years we still can't escape it😂
clicked this thinking i would have seen Slavoj a whole lot, dissapointed
You're missing Guy Maddin who keeps putting movies in his...bag!
Ayo i have one of those wo-hop shirts
Wii music in 2024 is crazy
AD if it was about physical media
Bill Hader grabbing Salo is my favorite video 🤣
W highlights
surprised you did not include any john waters clips!
why do my favorite directors keep pulling out Salo
The Room wouldn't be released until 28 years after Salo, so there was kind of a lull in the "Worst movie you can't look away from and have to show your friends" fandom.
Battlefield Earth you can kinda look away from. It gets boring at parts.
I think its just one of those types of infamous shock films thats been notorious for a long time. kinda like a cinema version "Two Girls One Cup"... if you dont know what that is do not search lol
2:36 Who is that? He looks familiar. He’s known for small parts in Amy Schumer movies, right?
Colin Quinn
Who are the guys at 3:27?
They were in a documentary called The Wolfpack
Im dumb can someone explain whats going on?
Hysterical
i love humangs
good video :)
My names Maya Hawke and I'm a legacy artist
Bill Hader...
Seriously?
@@MrUndersolo Dear Bill, STOP RECOMMENDING DATE MOVIES
Haha. Its super romantic when he feeds bread to the young lady "Mangia! Mangia!"
We do a little trolling
They didn't pull off a single movie off the shelf I've atleast heard about before.
First bit reminded me of that Kanye clip “I’m not going to say what kind of doctor. … It was a Jewish doctor.”
0:53 oh sweet! My favourite wife murderer in the criterion closet!
Wdym
less patton oswald pls
Grown man using wii music in 2024, this isn't "riverdale cast being beautiful crackheads for 5 mintues straight"
I don't know how to explain how played out the wii audio is, you used great clips tho
Just mute it amirite??
Did u get a break up text while listening to this or something
Yeah that was bugging me too
EXTREMELY BASED
"If you don't like it don't watch it" lol waiting for someone to say it, people use this song bc they've heard other people use it and think it's the blueprint, 3 years of "stranger things crack" and "cats being smol beans" yeah it's gettin annoying guys
BILL WITH SALO LMAOOO
