    After I found out that a guy gets turned into a pile of bananas in House that movie went way up in my watchlist

    Last night I was rewatching Rumble Fish just out of respect for the Stewart Copeland soundtrack bits, and I ended up watching the whole thing again. I wanted to come back to a recording conversation that I’d been on and I got hooked. Mickey is devastating, Matt Dillon is the best that he’s ever been, Diane Lane is so generous and revealing, Dennis Hopper so wise… it’s Coppola’s masterpiece that goes under the radar ,

      No shame in that. For me, a big part of Criterion Closet is about finding new titles I otherwise wouldn't have sought out. The visitor's selected films are usually listed at the end of each video or in the comments section.

      I'd reccomend going to your local library, these dvds can be expensive. I live in a small town but my library still has like 15 criterion dvds. Plus it's always good to support a library :)

  • @thalassafourtines5264

    Oh bless you for uploading the horror part! When I'm watching the end I wonder if the Woodsman's strength is related to nuclear fallout. He ripped the woman in half by barely touching her. Like he's walking radiation.

    A lot of crazy "Mo Fo's" going on in this episode... These guys that wrote this had to of had a hit of acid for those out of this world story make up. I love watching this series... I get a kick out of the sci fi make up...also the down side I dislike is many references to satanism...beware of that fact....

    • @thalassafourtines5264
      @thalassafourtines5264 7 років тому

      Dean Conn its about Trinity. Look it up. It's a government scandal. 70 years later people in New Mexico are getting rare forms of cancer.

    • @JimiLaPointe
      @JimiLaPointe 7 років тому

      Dean Conn where are these "satanism" references you're referring to?

    • @deanh1962
      @deanh1962 7 років тому

      Jimi La Pointe I love the show, but the episode with the atomic bomb it gave the hint where the devil comes to our dimension through the explosion, and the dark dirty woodsmen are demons that came through, and was explained by the producers also...just have to read between the lines...it's dark......

    • @JimiLaPointe
      @JimiLaPointe 7 років тому

      Dean Conn it was something from another dimension, not "the devil." Don't limit yourself to thinking only in Christian terms. There's so much more to think about see and experience when you cast off such limitations as "Jesus and the Devil."

    • @thalassafourtines5264
      @thalassafourtines5264 7 років тому

      nrt25 oooh I found out what I think the water well stuff is about... Apparently in the 1940s both the federal government and Kodak film concealed that Trinity (the nuclear detonation in the beginning) had fallout that got into a river which processed paper pulp for Kodak packaging. It showed up as smearing and other defects in the film. So what effect did it have on people. I also wonder if the radio thing is a reference to modern political corruption in media.

    Since there are more than one Woodsman, I'm going to call this one the Cigarette Smoking Woodsman or CSW for short. Also, before the CSW takes over and the old music is playing, it reminded me of the X-Files episode "Home", where they juxtaposed the oldies with horror and gore. I'm sure its been done plenty of other places but thats what came to mind.
