I love that blue 1600DD DAF, you can really tell it was a quality made machine... I don't think there was an American made truck of that year that could match it... it's a beauty. It reminds me of the quality way trucks were built decades before. It's a pleasant design as well, the yellow one less so, but still a quality machine.
Shame most of these old trucks were scrapped , just because the firms wanted bigger engines and more load , so more profit , The new ones rust less , why ? , more plastic around the cab...
MrComaToes The new DAF's are also styled by guys from the US because daf is part of the huge Paccar firm , but the old models were 100% Dutch , real steel , no recycled china junk...

Yes it is a shame, and most of our trucks of that time are gone too, but ours were just so much working tin, that DAF is a beauty queen by comparison.
