so a while ago, because all I do on my pc is play OSRS and use the browser, i thought why not use linux? So I dual booted linux mint (if distro even matters in this case, probably not?) because I wanted to have access to windows for the off chance I want to play some other games for a bit. Anyway the only problem I ran into with linux is that mouse movement just felt different than windows. I cant point out what it was, imagine using windows with mouse accelleration turned on, but still not quite.. it was just different. To the point where I couldnt play the game to the same degree just because It was impossible to do fast and accurate clicks required in osrs like 6 or 8 way switches etc. No matter what I was just missclicking, moving the mouse too far or too little etc. I googled around for possible fixes but I didnt find much.. it seems like people either arent that sensitive to this stuff or they just dont care? idk. anyway i found some potential fixes but they really didnt help and I ended up just uninstalling linux. I am not looking to re-learn my muscle for no reason. If anyone know why this was or know a solution i'd like to hear it, maybe i will try it again some time.
@@freezxng_moon was the mint experience recent? Bc I know in cinnamon desktop the mouse settings allow you to turn off acceleration and adjust dpi. I personally haven't had this problem. Is there a dpi button on your mouse?
@@jdanks it was 2 or 3 years ago now. I cant remember now if there was an accel button but if there was, disabling it was definitely the first thing i did.. and the mouse has the dpi in its memory so it was def the same as on windows. the dpi wasnt the problem it was the overall weird feeling of movign the mouse, idk how else to explain it.

Would love a tutorial or guide that actually works on getting runelite or even the official client to run on the steam deck (without using steam library one - I don't want to use a steam account).
As far as im aware, it uses arch. So its as simple as looking up how to install yay. Then when you install yay In terminal write Yay runscape Or yay runelite Then it should give you options for install its simple
@@urebeatsgaming7285 steamos is derivative of arch but it doesn't work the same. according to the official faq, anything installed outside of flatpak may be wiped with the next steamos update
@@jdanks ok? changing keyboard shortcuts on windows isn't difficult at all I know Linux has a lot of advantages but I just don't see it for osrs specifically
@@jurgnobs1308 um, actually 🤓, on windows you need to install powertoys in order to set custom keybinds, every time windows updates or powertoys updates the keybinds wipe and you need to reset them. windows doesnt come with workspaces, you need to set those up in some over complicated way. workspaces are what makes it better to play on linux
You dont understand the efficiency of a tiling window manager my dude. Rescaling 1 window rescales the others on the screen. It' so useful unstead of having to rescale 3 or 2 windows each time if you want to have multiple items on the screen. Also, the fact you can grab the clients and play the game without even having to open the browser. Being able to switch workspaces in 1 shortcut means you can afk while actually being productive with work. You can literally be doing some task with multiple windows open, quickly change to the osrs workspace and then go back to working. Theres so much with this
Mostly community driven, open source. If you don't care about those and don't get annoyed by Microsoft's decisions. There is no reason for you to switch. For me customization is main benefit, like my system looks nothing like this guy's but if it was windows it would look exactly the same, which is not a bad thing I just like changing things the way I want it

Even before I saw your OSRS compass, I knew you smoked weed. Hope you don't want a corporate job brother 😂

I don't even know what in the fuck this video meant and i'm as high as you are, this is why I don't smoke with other people
