It's funny because one of my primary reasons in life for not gambling is because of RuneScape. I lost over 400m in dicing back in 2011 when my gambling addiction was sprouting as a child. After that I swore to never touch any form of gambling again. I've stuck to that and I am grateful that I lost money in a game rather than real life.

Man thanks for all your hard work fighting back against scammers. I remember way back when I first started playing, got scammed for my rune plate armor. It wasn't much coin of course, but it felt bad knowing that there are people out there like that. It's awesome finally seeing some payback!
I got pretty deep into this shit when CSGO skin gambling was pretty big. I won a pot in which I put $200 into and it turned out to be $2800 when the pot rolled. I won and i was hooked, i got stuck in that vicious cycle of, "I won before, I can do it again" or as soon as im even ill stop. 2 months later I was down like $20000. My entire savings account when i was around 21 years old. Luckily for me though, i realized the problem and was able to stop, some people don't ever get out of the vicious cycle that is gambling. I wanted to be the next PhantomLord, or something, and turns out a lot of those people that "made it" though CSGO gambling sites actually rigged them. Crazy shit gambling.
When I was 16 I turned $50 into $950.. wanted to stop and cashout at $1k. Lost it all. Put in $300 thinking the same thing. Lost it and realized what I had done. Sorry to hear you lost that much :(

12 years ago, I had to quit RuneScape because I gambled away my bank all in one day. It was 3 years of playing and saving up and I lost it all trying to make up for lost bets in the GE. Seeing this video took me way back

And I thought my addiction to letting League of Legends clean my wallet was bad. I haven't seen EA do these gambling system, they're missing out big time.
EA has loot boxes, which lure kids into buying them with irl money over and over for the chance of winning in-game items. In Apex, it's heirlooms. Gambling for children using gift cards bought at the corner store.
Absolutely amazing. Made me want to try DA anti scamming, but then you reminded me why I never go there. I play the game for much more than the green cash stack.

Just to blow your minds with this perspective. That 1% Dual Arena tax number equals just under 10 MILLION DOLLARS USD on the black market. In 561 days Jagex collected that much money in gold from the Duel Arena ALONE.
It will suck away all your free time, but you don't have to go to the dual arena. I haven't been there (besides dueling friends for fun) and I've been playing for a long time.
Dude you are a righteous warrior. I hate pking, but you make me want to learn how and to do this type of stuff to these virtual criminals. This is probably a skill I’ll learn one day to be able to fight scammers like you. Great vid man. They are taking the duel arena down soon after my post.
A lot of people think audible is the sponsor of the video, but in reality that's just a cover-sponsor. In reality, the video is brought to you by the scammers hoping to recognize you as an anti scammer and anti-anti-scam you.
Aside from the scams, it could be argued the dueling arena is more addicting than IRL gambling. This is because the "house advantage" is typically much higher than 1%, often 5-10% depending on the game.
Back in my day scams consisted of "will trim armor", "lf rs bf", and changing the amount of gold in the trade window from something like 100k to 1004 and hope they can't tell the difference between the k and 4.
Beyond the fact that what you are doing is amazing, I just cannot believe that this game that me and my friends use to sit around and talk about in 2nd grade is still alive. Unbelievable

I like jim browning's videos on scammers, he's a badass. Scamming aside, many of the biggest bot farms have been known to make over 200k$ usd a year selling gold. I have always been of the mindset that staked duels should be removed from the game, even if they're part of the original game, because of the scammers as well as the poor young people and foolish older people that are addicted to gambling.
MuffinMakinJew it's very hypocritical to ban gambling other than gambling hosted by jagex. Inb4 but it's to protect players from being scammed. People get scammed all the time at duel arena
@@1ronman1 I'm not talking about scamming. I'm talking about them essentially encouraging gambling resulting in young people becoming gambling addicts which will ruin their lives. That being said, it's normal for a game maker to want people hooked on their games, regardless of the content they're addicted to, so it's natural for them to not care about that sort of thing. I just think it's sad how many people have fucked their lives up just because they got started gambling and got addicted to it by playing a part of runescape
The eye-opening truth of gambling, I have a friend that literally lost everything to gambling and bookies. Its sad that RS actually keeps the duel arena in the game, theres kids that play this game man, they get into gambling at a young age, i highly doubt they'll have a good life ahead of them.

Your math doesn't assume that any of the gp was staked more than once. Like the exact same 10b could have been staked 1000 times by 100s of different players. That would appear that quadrillions? Had been staked when in reality it was still only that same 10b.

That is the greatest "sit" ever typed in the history of runescape. Respect.
The saying; "the house always wins" is not bullshit.
Easy to get roped into, glad you got out

@@Arun.Shan. I tricked him into losing his gear to me - I didn't scam anyone though. I just lied to him and took advantage of their trust but that's justifiable because really it's their fault for being stupid. Again, not a scam because we call it a lure and it's impossible to be two things /S

I did though twice , food scam and the platebody so happy to anti them rofl
@@saulgoodman5185 5head my dude.
That lurer takedown at the end was cosmic justice. I hope you can get some more kills like that in the future.

@@1ronman1 I'm not talking about scamming. I'm talking about them essentially encouraging gambling resulting in young people becoming gambling addicts which will ruin their lives.
