He will see more and more religious people come out of their traditions because of getting educated through the internet.

    • @mdcarson

As soon as they tell you to follow Moses or Joseph Smith or any other prophet other than Jesus, run as well. But what are we to do with imperfect prophets like Noah and David? Are we blessed when we reject God's prophet's, warts and all, and only run to Jesus when HE is the one who sent the prophet? Well, sons and daughters of God, THAT is a pretty important question YOU need to ask yourself and answer. Thankfully, I have never been asked to follow Joseph, but rather Joseph has asked us all to follow Jesus. There are a lot of blind people in the world, doesn't mean that Joseph Smith was perfect or that he wasn't called to lead us back to the covenants of our Fathers and thus back to unity with God. Blessings to all those who finished reading this comment. Blessings to those who didn't.

THE MOST disturbing thing occurred when he approached his LDS superiors with his concerns (doubts) and was told, basically, to shut the fuk up.

I am an Ex-Mormon (though technically my name is still on the records of the church). I served an LDS mission, and also went to BYU. The contradictions between the church's teachings and scientific facts always required me to go through some mental gymnastics for it to all make sense. The "aha" moment came when I learned that several of Joseph Smith's wives were simultaneously married to other men (polyandry). That is something that the church doesn't tell you, and I was offended that I didn't find out till I was 31 (even then I only found out by accident, while researching an answer to someone else's question). Then I learned that Egyptologists can now translate the papyrus from which Joseph Smith supposedly translated the Book of Abraham, and know that they were nothing more than common funerary scripts. Then I learned that Joseph Smith was a treasure hunter, who used to put magic rocks in his hat to hunt for gold; and that he translated the Book of Mormon by the same method. (Google it!)
The problem is that most Mormons have no idea what their actual history is. They only get the white-washed propaganda version distributed by the church. Then they are told that all you need in order to know that the church is true is to have a good feeling in your heart (or the "spirit"). That sounds good, except people also get "good feelings" when they read the Quoran, Tom Sawyer, and a number of other fictitious works. It is a recipe for self deception. I was set free when I realize that if there is a God, then he would expect us to use the logic and reason that he gave us. Logic and reason are what really reveal the truth.
I am now a very happy Agnostic. I don't feel any bitterness towards anyone. I am at peace now, and so glad that I no longer have to go through mental gymnastics to believe in something that isn't true.

I have all these questions and then some. When I approached my bishop and expressed my concern, he told me to CONTINUE to ask questions. IT'S OK to have questions! I know about Joseph Smith, I know about the history of the church, but I've accepted it for what it is because of the GOOD that comes from being a member and the light it brings to my life. I might not have all the answers, but my life is much better in the church than out of it. And don't think your crisis of faith only happens in the LDS church, they happen in ALL religions. The members of those churches have THE SAME TYPES OF QUESTIONS THAT YOU DO. Faith is not something that's given to you, it's something you choose to have.

Why is it called “crisis of faith” when it is determining whether you choose facts over falsehood. How could joseph have different versions first vision ..how could the indelible vision of God and Jesus be mistaken forgotten. How can scriptures be true and yet changed to meet criticism, the same with temple ordinances. Why is one thought true yesterday and wrong today if from God. Why did/does God favor one person over another. Why does church action not meet church professed belief.

It really makes our relationship superficial that they are still on the inside and I am outside. Any objective view of the church easily reveals the gaping holes.

@FORTNITE BeGinner The true Church of Jesus Christ is a restored version of the Christ's original church. We are a faith of continuous revelation. The gospel of Jesus Christ doesn't change, policies and procedures do. As long as the the Lord Jesus Christ created and approved of the change it is valid. Man's ways are not god's ways. Most everything mankind does is foolishness to the Lord. You were never cursed, as a person, and still aren't. You were born into a race that for whatever the reason was cursed. You need to go to the Lord for that answer. The LDS church did not create the curse. We obey the Lord Jesus Christ. It is His church and can do as He pleases. Through revelation in 1978 that curse was lifted and everyone gets the Priesthood (Males). The one character who wants to keep the antagonism and racial division going is satan. He has gotten a lot of mileage out of racial hatred. You are and have always been our brother. We welcome you to the faith.

@FORTNITE BeGinner Glad you found Jesus. Now you must find His Church. Christ restored the Church of Jesus Christ through the prophet Joseph Smith. The church has one purpose. That is to help perfect the saints for exaltation and return to the Father's Kingdom. The "christian" churches don't have any idea or understanding of this process. Would you rather be on the positive track to return to the Father or would you want to inherit a lesser kingdom where you will never see Heavenly Father again? Right now it remains your choice. Bible-only churches will keep you back and stop your eternal progression. Big difference between salvation (Free gift of the atonement) and exaltation (must be earned). Joseph Smith does not play into your personal exaltation. Take care, Bud Henson

@FORTNITE BeGinner You have some good questions there. The actual facts are that Joseph Smith made no differences between whites and blacks. He actually gave the priesthood to worthy black men. At one point he even sold his wife's favorite horse to get enough money to free a black man. The ugly part came after Joseph was murdered and Brigham Young became the new church president. It was while Brigham was in office that it was changed. I really don't know why this happened but I do know that Joseph had no problem with black people. I hope this helps at least what you may think of Joseph Smith. I don't say he was a perfect man but I do know that he did translate the Book of Mormon from plates that "had the appearance of gold". We don't worship him either we just appreciate him for his part in the restoration. It is God we pray to and believe Jesus to be His actual physical son who atoned for all of us that we might return to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus once again if we make ourselves worthy to enter the Celestial kingdom. I am happy you have found Jesus but I hope you won't have such bad feelings toward us that you don't want to learn more. When all is said and done, each of us has the final say in what we will choose for ourselves. Best wishes.

I know Hans Mattsson. He's a good and decent person who has written a great book with his co-author about seeking truth. As a Mormon, he didn't know much about the grace of Jesus through faith in his precious saving and redeeming blood. I've attempted to help Hans in his pilgrimage from Mormon to Christian and I believe that he's trying his best to accept and understand the grace of Christ Jesus. The simplicity of Jesus' holy gospel is startling to any true-blue Mormon, and once the Holy Spirit begins to act on the mind/heart of such people, wonderful changes are imminent in their lives.

      TO: Rusty Nowlin
      re: The Church of
      J E S U S C H R I S T
      of Latter-day Saints
Please Do Not Call Us Mormons.
You may have missed the press release or perhaps for one of many other possible reasons you may not have yet decided to respect this request.
Nevertheless, if you haven't heard, we are asking all honest and descent people to respect us in this request in as much as Mormon is a nickname that is many times used with a derogatory connotation that our enemies and critics use against us. Therefore, I am personally & respectfully requesting … Please do not call us Mormons anymore.
      You can call us:
~ The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
~ the Church of Jesus Christ
Also, Please do not call us LDS for similar reasons.
      You can call us:
      ~ Latter-day Saints
      ~ Saints, or
      ~ Christians
      But, please …
I am personally & respectfully requesting
Do not call us LDS anymore.
Do not call us Mormons anymore.
      BTW
      Latter-day Saints are Christians.
The Church is the restoration of the original church founded by Jesus Christ and the Church of Jesus Christ equals = 100% God’s Gospel Truth.
So ya, I would appreciate it, if you would please stop saying false things about my church. You need to come to church and see; and, this is my invitation for you to come and visit. The only people who are not welcome in the church are disruptive anti-Mormon bigoted trolls.
The Bible says, “Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh~ is of God.” 1 John 4.2
I am a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ.
I confess that Jesus has come in the flesh and is of God. I love Jesus and I believe that He is the Son of God. He is my Savior and the Savior of the whole world.
The Evangelical pastor says, “When somebody loves Jesus and believes He is the Son of God, that’s good for me.”
And that’s good enough for me too.
A Christian is a believer in Jesus Christ and His teachings. The Church teaches and we believe that we are justified by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and in His infinite atonement. We are true Christians. We are the Church of Jesus Christ.
So ya, i don't expect you to automatically believe everything I've said anymore than you should expect others to believe what you have said; Nevertheless, it is important to note that treating others with dignity and respect is part of the Christian ethos.
      PROMOTE RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE
Tolerance implies no lack of commitment to one’s own beliefs. Rather it condemns the oppression or persecution of others ~ President John F. Kennedy
if you have any issues, I am willing to listen; but please remember that~
“It is a wise thing to be polite; consequently, it is a stupid thing to be rude. To make enemies by unnecessary and willful incivility, is just as insane a proceeding as to set your house on fire. For politeness is like a counter--an avowedly false coin, with which it is foolish to be stingy.”
― Arthur Schopenhauer, The Wisdom of Life and Counsels and Maxims
      In the meantime,
      Please stop trash-talking my church.
      Thank you,

God would never tell his "only true church" to whitewash, cover up, deceive, and out right lie about it's history. NEVER ... the Mormon false prophets and apostles have proven the Mormon church to be a sham just on that one point alone. The Mormon leaders are proven, documented, factual liars ... there is no excuse for the inexcusable ... God will not be mocked! God has come forth is these "last days" to reveal the mocking ways of Mormonism ... if the Mormon false prophets were actually honest ... they would not co-opt. the true Jesus from the bible who is the ONE and ONLY God, creator of all the universe, and savior of the world. Jesus is most definitely not Satan's brother ... The Mormon false prophet and apostles would name their church an honest name ... the most honest name should actually be "The Church of Satan's Brother of Latter Day Satan's Brothers and Sisters" ... that way the world would know the false entity Mormons actually believe in. Also, the best part about that name is that it would not offend any Mormon because it is in perfect harmony with Mormon doctrine. You are in a cult and you don't even know it. God will not be mocked by the massive mocking Mormon manipulation machine ... the truth is simply that ... The Truth ... and the actual truth about Mormonism has been revealed by God ... the Mormon leaders no longer can hide it from their members nor from the world ... please read my true story at truthspm.org God Bless :)

      Shine Brightly, you said
wow you really are a troll.
      Abel
      No sir/madame, I am not a troll.
... and here is why ~
In Internet slang, a troll is a person who starts quarrels or upsets people on the Internet to distract and sow discord by posting inflammatory and digressive, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the intent of provoking readers into displaying emotional responses and normalizing tangential discussion, whether for the troll's amusement or a specific gain.
IMNSHO, in my opinion I do not fit the definition of a troll because:
      a) the comments I make are not inflammatory but instead accurately represent legitimate religious principles and doctrines as well as the scientific treatment of the subject.
      b) the comment I make are not digressive, extraneous, or off-topic in as much as they do not depart from the subject.
      c) I am neither trying to evoke or provoke emotional responses nor am I deliberately trying to disrupt attack, offend or generally cause trouble; I am, however, very simply representing legitimate religious principles and doctrines as well as representing the historical and scientific treatment of the subject.
      d) I am open-minded and I am always willing to listen to others.
      e) I am, however, human, and I make mistakes. I am always willing to listen to what and why others think I am mistaken.
      f) I am, however, human, and I make mistakes. If I have offended anyone according to any legitimate reason, I am willing to apologize and say that I am sorry.
      g) I am really into free speech and IMNSHO, in my opinion I believe that the best conversations include describing what is the problem and why it is a problem as apposed to unsubstantiated allegations and personal attacks.
      h) did I mention that I am open-minded and that I am always willing to listen to others :)
      In the meantime,
      I could be wrong,
      I am only human,
      but,
I think you owe me an apology and a promise to never falsely attack another person for the rest of you life.

Hmm, it appears you are creating the very turmoil Smith claimed he was trying to over come. If you can't disprove anything then you can't prove anything else true.
What am i doing? I'm speaking out for society, i'm preventing people being lied to an indoctrinated into cults. I don't see the need for my wife to wear a veil or not as this recent change of the changeless temple ceremony confirms.
My wife can wear pants if she want, she didn't need Russell Nelson to contradict LDS history and give permission.
Looking at your photo you are old enough to have seen a litany of changes. You've seen Black people go from the sons of Ham to some unexplained race.
Lamanites were once dark skinned, now that is a racist remark and nobody seems willing to commit to what the mark of the laminates was.
in the 1940s the priesthood ban was a matter of doctrine according to the first presidency letter. Today it is confirmed that they were racist leaders - wow, you had racist leaders leading the church into racism? Isn't that astray?
My suggestion is you are juggling all of this in your mind as i once did. You're not seeing the wood for the trees. Yet once you look and see that actually, things don't add up, you become open to the idea that that not adding up ought to be rationally explained, then, then you'll see the cracks, and you'll see that like me you followed a lie.
The world is full of wonderful people striving. I strive with them, i serve in my community. I don't serve an LDS base, i serve my whole community, regardless of their background.
You literally have no rational nor moral nor evidentiary argument to counter any of these points.
The entirety of your claim is, 'You believe' which is fine. However that doesn't make it factual. Followers of Warren Jeffs argue he is the true prophet, does their sincerity make them correct or do you look for factual arguments to disprove their claim?

I was shocked by what he said and I still had feelings for my abusive husband. I was unhappy for a few years until I realize the most members have isolated me. So I went to an R&B concert after church and I met this man with a nice smile on his face. I told him that I am a Mormon and he said that he is an ExMormon and Widower. I started dating him and love his family with children.
He met my daughter and she liked him too. When I went back to church, the authority got mad at me. I told the authority that I love but the authority told me that they concerned not able to go to the temple. I thought us as members that we always love others even though they left. I told the members that I still love him even though he left the church.

One that should be known that mormon bishops are different from
bishops say in the Catholic or Anglican Churches.
Mormon bishops have no special training and do not attend university,
    theological collage and alike.
They are just ordinary people chosen to be in charge of a district.
And can be truck drivers or small business owners for example.
Therefore I am not surprised that the bishop interviewed here
do not know the true history of his Church.
    Or facts about Joseph Smith.
Mormons are discouraged from seeking out information not
approved by the LDS Church. In fact can be (and are)
punished for doing so. In this way they are a cult.
You are either in the bubble of belief or if not, an enemy of the Church.

He still has family in the church so he still goes to the church but he says that no this is not the only true church but it's a good church to be in if you have time you can go on Mormon stories and listen to his interview along with is wife Brigitta it's really interesting he and his wife are honest people and they say that don't want to hurt the church they just want the truth to be out there which is a healthy approach so they are getting away with it. if they had a more abrasive approach I can guarantee they would have been ex communicated by now.

It was different in the mormon church, because the child's consent was not sought. It was negotiated between two dirty old men, with Joe Smith saying give me your 13 year old daughter, and I'll give your entire family eternal salvation.

Uh... no. Those aren’t the words of the Apostle James. Wrong answer. You don’t actually know the answer to the honest and pertinent question I asked you, do you. I had a feeling you weren’t a student or reader of the Holy Bible and apparently I was correct. Yet you pretend to teach us of God’s word when you don’t study it or know it. Let me help you...
The Apostle James was born many many centuries after Moses gave us Deuteronomy. Did you know that it was the prophet Moses who gave us Deuteronomy? Were you aware that Moses and the Apostle James were separated by 1,400 to 1,700 years and were members of two DIFFERENT Tribes of the TWELVE Tribes of The House of Israel? Can you instruct us as to which Tribe of the TWELVE Israelite Tribes that Moses was born into, and which of the TWELVE Tribes of Israel the Apostle James was born through? These are other good honest VITAL questions for you - a chance to make up for having given us the wrong answer to my first question when you gave us words of Moses thinking they were words of James.
If you can’t answer these questions regarding historical Truths contained within our Holy Bible, then you can’t understand the sacred Truths God has revealed to us in that old and dusty collection of sacred writ. You can’t pick and choose among the Truths God has revealed to mankind through His prophets and Apostles which of them that you want to accept and which you want to reject and discard. If you accept Moses’ word of revealed Truth, you must also accept the Truths revealed through the Apostle James.
We’re still waiting for the correct answer to my first question. WHAT DID GOD REVEAL THROUGH HIS ANCIENT APOSTLE JAMES TO BE THE ONE AND ONLY WAY FOR MAN TO GAIN WISDOM AND HAVE THE TRUTHS OF ETERNITY CONFIRMED TO HIS SOUL?
Then, if you are able, I’ve asked you those few simple BUT VITAL questions just above. Please enlighten us with the answers to them if you are capable.

glad this is still online in 2020. I was looking for exactly Mormons opinions about the background of their still surprisingly popular faith.
I am still interested to hear about those who are more positive in their beliefs, one example is popular martial arts youtuber Ramsey Dewey.
What the gentlemen in this video may like to be reminded, is that religion is much more about identity and having a sense of belonging withing a tribe of people with similar values. There to also support each other with the difficulties and fears in life and its end.
Whatever stories and practices a religion has should be shaped around supporting it's followers like that.
Very few people truly believe in God in the conventional sense of the Abrahamic traditions. Ideas and beliefs from 200 years ago sound like nonsense to us now so things written by humans 2000 and more years ago truly expose the way religion is always based on the irrational ideas of people in the era.
Like the stories and practices in ancient Judaism that all Christians and Muslims must believe too if they are being literalists. That our Christian God would at one time expect offerings to be burnt at altars and many more unusual and often cruel and unfair things too.
The pope has even openly publicly hinted that he and the high levels of the Catholic church may not even believe in God or the foundations of the religion.
    But it's not about that.
Religion helps create shape, meaning, comfort, belonging and sometimes helps guide justice in the challenging human experience.

Hi! I’m a member of this church, and One issue I have with this argument is the lack of perspective. Old Testament prophets and apostles called of god like Jonah and peter have many scriptures describing their shortcomings. Why do people see imperfections in this church as proof to it being false? Perfection is being demanded when it has never been replicated since Jesus Christ. If you loose testimony over things, then your testimony is in the wrong things

In Galatians 1 of the New Testament the Apostle Paul said the following words to warn of people like Joseph Smith. No wonder he wanted to come up with another version of the new testament, because it condemned men like him that would bring in a quote new and improved version of the Bible: Here's what Paul said: "I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel- 7which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! 9As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!
10Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ." Galatians 1: 6-10 I pray for Mormon' s that they will see it is possible to be sincere, but sincerely wrong. Check out the group called "Adam's Road" and hear powerful testimony of how elders were shown the truth and came out of Mormonism. Spiritually short-sighted people always count their eggs first before they all hatch (presumpteous) are always quoting off Galatians to condemn the latter-day Restoration of the Father's Gospel and forgetting all about what John The Revelator said in Revelations 14:6 about what the other angle sent from God from heaven would do in the last days to the whole entire planet because this angle sent down by God from Heaven would preach this gospel all out to all the whole entire planet. Its there in black and white what this angle will do to the planet in Rev 14:7 and the effect it would have, for the angle would hand this gospel to a man on the earth because Joseph Smith was handed the plates from the angle to translate them and then it would be preached out to all the Nations, Kindreds, Tongues and People of the world, and the purpose of this preaching of this gospel is to fear God and give glory to him.. That would be the message of this gospel from the angle that John Saw. The Message would be to Fear God and prepare to meet God. Rev 14:7
Now Paul was talking about what was happening in his day and time among the Galatian Saints back in AD 70 or so. But John the Revelator is talking about something different about what is going to happen to the whole entire world in OUR DAY AND TIME in 2020 of the Restoration, of the gospel around the earth by another angle instead which means there
will be another testament of Jesus Christ than just the Bible BIG DIFFERENCE. There were TWO angles. One that paul warned the saints from following after in his day and time, and another angle of heaven having the truth that John the Revelator had seen that would come to the earth in the last days to deliver up the gospel and restore it back.
The Bible Christians are not going to tell God the Father that he can't fulfill his promises and his covenants in these last days to the House of Israel just because they have Got a Bible to read and think they can make god turn his promises away that he decreed to the House of Israel to gather them all in and restore them back to the truth..
For if the Angle that John Saw was the false angle not sent from God from heaven, then he would've given the same warning about the angle as Paul did in Galatians. But John didn't give any warnings because John knew that this angle that would be coming in the last days would preach the this restored gospel out to all the world would be the one that would be sent in by God......

I have seen many people come and go, I have been in many leadership positions including that of a bishop and I have NEVER heard anyone tell anyone else to not talk about difficult subjects, or be told to remain silent if they stop coming to church. It simply is not true. People leave the church for all kinds of reasons, most of them just leave and never say anything because they have no desire to say anything. The only ones that come out with stories like this are those that have some sort of personal grievance with the church and they find an excuse to make things up in an attempt to discredit the church as an act of revenge.
There are so many things he said that are simply not true. If people leave it is not church policy to cast people out, or stop them coming to social gatherings like weddings. We encourage people to come back! If that does happen it must be some members that do it, not the church policy. & what of thee anointed kings of isreal who had whores and 100s of wives & yet isn't it still called the gospel.. you pray always and council unto the Lord in all you should do that's why Joseph prayed, he separated his heart from mans teaching & drew near to Christ with all his heart mind soul, instead of proving Joseph Smiths acts wrong why don't yous try disprove the words of Jesus in the book of mormon, for many have wanted but none can disprove the words of Jesus in the book of mormon so they attack Joseph Smiths doings whom Joseph was just a man, no x member of the church can disprove the words of Jesus speaking in the book of mormon, if you know the words of Jesus then u will know that it is He, & if you knew at one time that that was real then why would u walk away from it.....
And their shall be 1 more after me Jesus said, so who do you think that is now, is it the pope, is it Mohamed of Muslim, is it jehova witnesses, he who has done the work like unto moses is the 1 that Jesus spoke of in the bible that there shall be 1 more after me, Joseph had to repent of his ways when he messed up or translation that was naturally gifted in him will be taken from him till he humbled himself & repented of his sins, all in all he did repent.. families that pray together (in jesus) stay together forever

I will comment on tithing and polygamy. After the death of Jesus Christ fulfilled the Law, the New Testament nowhere commands, or even recommends, that Christians submit to a legalistic tithe system. The New Testament nowhere designates a percentage of income a person should set aside, but only says gifts should be “in keeping with income”
As far as polygamy is concerned you wont find anywhere in the Bible where God commanded it. It seems he did tolerate it but never was it a command.

I'm always baffled when I come across people who might actually think it really is true....? They begin to look for reasons to be offended or claim they were "lied to" about the history of the church and being such principled people, they wimp out. That's why I'm happy to see them go. The Holy Bible has no authority.
The Holy Bible is not a church manual.
      Nevertheless
It is a miracle that the Bible literally contains within its pages the converting, healing Spirit of Christ, which has turned men’s hearts for centuries, leading them to pray, to choose right paths, and to search to find their Savior....
The Holy Bible is well named.
It is holy because it teaches truth, holy because it warms us with its spirit, holy because it teaches us to know God and understand His dealings with men, and holy because it testifies throughout its pages of the Lord Jesus Christ. [Elder M. Russell Ballard, Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, The Miracle of the Holy Bible]
Living apostles and prophets speak for and in behalf of God.
Divinely appointed men of God are ordained with authority from God.
      A book cannot ordain.
Our message and testimony to you is that God continues to guide His children today through ordained living apostles and prophets of the Lord and His Church, the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints.
Catholicism is the result of the efforts of the Roman emperor Constantine to unify the church; and doctrine was a result of the scholarship of philosopher-theologians like St. Augustine. Popes were the result of a very literal “to the death” struggle for control of the church.
Protestantism claims that the Roman Catholic Church was and is apostate and heretical and Protestant churches are the result of the efforts of men like Luther to return the church to its primitive roots by reformation.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the complete Restoration of Jesus Christ's original Church to the earth which restoration was brought about, not by the reformation of men, but by the revelations of God.
But don't take my word for it. The best advice that I can give honest caring people is to look at information from qualified sources from both sides of the issues, say your prayers, relax, and enjoy life.
One way to know the truth is to taste the fruit. You could test the truth by studying our canonized doctrines and canonized scriptures.
You could start with the missionaries.
You could read the Book of Mormon.
      You could visit the Church.
This is how that works… unless you are a deliberately disruptive bigoted troll ~ then,
      Come see for yourself ~
      Visitors are welcome.
If you don't mind me asking,
What kind of Christian are you?

YOUR RELIGION IS A MAN-MADE RELIGION
Dualistic Manichaeism and Neo-Platonism were a major influence on Christian theology throughout Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages in the West. This was due to St. Augustine of Hippo, who was influenced by the early Neoplatonists Plotinus and Porphyry, as well as the works of the Christian writer Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite, who was influenced by later Neoplatonists, such as Proclus and Damascius.
TM Christianity is a man-made church.
YOUR CHURCH IS A MAN-MADE CHURCH
The Great Apostasy, as it is sometimes called, was the direct result of the death of the apostles and the loss of their authority to preside over the church. As a consequence, the church fell into disorder, dispute, and rioting in the streets.
The emperor Constantine attempted to restore order to the church. As the driving force that set in motion the Council of Nicaea and the power behind the Council, Constantine is credited as the defacto father of the Catholic Church.
And, in a similar fashion, Martin Luther is credited as being the father of all Protestant denominations and churches.
The God of TM Christianity =
      equals = is man-made god.
YOUR GOD IS A MAN-MADE GOD
Your God is based on made-made Creeds:
      The Nicene Creed
      The Apostles Creed
      The Athanasian Creed.
However, not all is lost. The Church of Jesus Christ teaches that all religions have a portion of the truth. We are all children of our Heavenly Father and hence, you are indeed our Christian brothers and sisters.
      And I wish you well,
in the name of Jesus Christ.

This argument works universally and in and of itself says nothing. Of course those who are "wrong" are in for a rude waking up. But one wonders in light of Biblical consistencies and the restored church, who will be on the left side of the proverbial boat? Without question, in my mind mist Christians have swallowed the inconceivable lie of the Nicene Creed. Moreover, in the Book of Revelation chapter 5, who hands the Seven Sealed Book to whom? Clearly the Father hands the Son this book preparatory to the Final Judgment. And yet, somehow mainstream Christians would attempt to refute this as One God, for some reason attempting to lie and misrepresent Himself. Why? To what end? Clearly showing Himself as two separated Beings, would make God a liar and fraud. My belief and understanding of God is that this is mot the case.

Here is a test of the Book of Mormon (BoM) that I challenge someone with the means to do. The BoM describes 3 civilizations that came to America from the Old world: Jaredites, Mulekites and Nephites. The Jaredites and the Nephites ending up having a great war that killed off most of all of their people. The BoM states that both of those wars occurred in the same place, at a Hill in New York that Nephites/Mormons call "The Hill Cumorah". The Jaredites called it "Ramah". These two wars were approximates 1200 years apart. It should be easy for an archaeologist team to create digs around the Hill Cumorah to see if these wars happened. The last of these wars was in 600 AD. The dig needs to be deep enough to expose 4000 years at least. There should be 2 distinct strata in the earth where there are many skeletons with accompanying armor and weapons, and the accessories in these strata should reflect different technologies. This is not hard to do people! Hear me, prominent anti-Mormons! Hire Mormon archaeologists to do this. Make it a huge media event. This will be FUN!

According to Latter-day Saint (Mormon) doctrines, the gold plates are Joseph Smith's source for the Book of Mormon, one of the movement's sacred books.
According to Smith, he found the plates on September 22, 1823, on a hill near his home in Manchester, New York, after being led to the plates by the angel Moroni. The plates must have been hidden in a stone coffin, under a large stone. [1] Smith further wrote that the angel prevented him from taking out the records, and instructed him to return to the same place after one year. In September 1827, and in his fourth annual attempt to get the records, Smith was able to return home with the records. Although Smith allowed others to feel the box with the plates, he explained that the angel had forbidden him to show the plates to anyone until they had been translated from their original language, stated to be "Reformed Egyptian." Smith wrote the Book of Mormon over the next few years, claiming that the text was a direct translation from the records. He did this with the help of a "seer stone" which he placed at the bottom of a hat, which he then placed in front of his face, so that he could see the written words in the stone. Smith published the translation in 1830, as the Book of Mormon.
Smith eventually obtained testimony from eleven men, known as Witnesses of the Book of Mormon, who confirmed that they had seen the gold plates. After the translation was completed, Smith is said to have given the records back to the angel Moroni, who was to guard the records further. Therefore, the plates, if they had existed, could not be examined further. Latter-day Saints believe the account of the gold plates is a matter of faith, while critics have often argued that Smith either made the plates himself, [2] or that the Witnesses of the Book of Mormon based their testimonies on revelations, not physical experiences. The notions about the records and the translations may also have been an unconscious self-deception or a misunderstood, religious hallucination. Smith, for example, demonstrably translated the Book of Mormon Abraham's book completely incorrectly in relation to the original Egyptian original text that experts have subsequently checked. Another explanation is that the gold plates were a deliberate hoax, that is, a staged lie or a forgery that the religious swarmer Smith or some of the witnesses designed to deceive the followers. Some claim that as early as 1826 a lawsuit was filed against the young boy Joseph Smith jr. as a religious fanatic, deceiver and gold hunter. [3]
