The pactbound zealots detachment rule is great and the good thing is that it doesn't actually mean you forego getting off the weaker version of the dark pact due to the 'army rule'. For any other detachment its: - Dark pact leadership test first: If you fail take mortal, and take none if you pass. Gain dark pact bonus regardless of result. -The pactbound dark pact follows the structure of: - Leadership test: if pass, take no mortals and gain the 5+ boosted version of regular dark pact. - However, if failed, take the mortals, do not receive the benefit of the 5+ version BUT still gain the benefit of the regular dark pact (as dark pact still goes off on a fail.) I'm glad you guys also picked up on it too, fellaz in my gaming group were getting wrongfully estatic believing you forego the dark pact entirely on a fail. Overall though, in contrast to some of the other detachments here, pactbound seems like it'll be the least of their concerns going up against CSM.
In Veterans of the long war a neat play of the double focus of hatred if you combine it with the generate cp when focus target is dead: choose a wounded unit as the first target which is possibly not that hard to shoot or fight off. Finish it off with Havocs, get a CP for killing it, then Abby points the important unit in front of him as the next focus of hatred target for 1cp instead of 2 (as you just earned one), and slashes it down in close combat.

How to pronounce Abaddon: Step 1: Remember that GW is a british company founded in Nottingham. An area where people speak with a midlands accent because Nottingham is well, in the Middle of England. Step 2: Remember that 80's era GW made Ghazgul's full name into a play-on-words/ satirical version of 'Margaret Thatcher' - the Prime Minister at the time of the company's founding (with 'mixed reviews' on her policies to say the least). Step 3: Having remembered that 80's era GW liked to have fun with their names and play around with puns, and (remembering that Abaddon's been around in codexes since the 80's) ; the next step is to realise 'Abaddon' can become a pun if you say it with a midlands accent. as in the joke: "Abaddon? Oh I don't like him very much. Nasty piece of work he is. He's a bad 'un." Sorry for having to explain 'the funny' and take the humour out of the joke by explaining it. I'm sure most of you guys already knew all about that. But it's worth explaining it to new people coming into the hobby . It's worth keeping the spirit of Rogue Trader era GW alive. Abaddon's name is one of those little things that remind you this multi-billion £ corporation used to be just a scrappy team of blokes in the middle of England having a lark and making minis by hand and then going down t' pub afterwards.

Step 4. Refer to the correct pronunciation in the video GW published on UA-cam last year with Alex confirming it's the biblical version not the pun version. Ultimately it doesn't really matter but if you're stating facts it's better to be accurate.
@@MarkusMaximus2000 ah but that video spoils the fun 😛. You are right, it ultimately doesn't matter. The choice of which version to use really comes down to which side of GW you want to emphasise (knowingly or otherwise :). Personally I'm part of the camp that chuckles and laughs any time GW tries to move away from it's Rogue trader origins and distance itself from the sillier but more characterful parts of it's younger days. GW insisting on everyone using the new name feels like a scene from a sitcom. An 8 year old child walking up to it's parents and demanding they call the child by a new name now 'cos all the other kids at school say their old name is silly and their new name is more normal. As the parent you can't help but chuckle and smile at how ernest they are, how keen they are to grow up and be 'taken seriously'. How easily they buckled and succumbed to peer preasure, choosing to have a more 'normal' name just to fit in. You ruffle their hair and tell them it's ok, they can have whatever name they want. But you'll always call them by their original, true name. You tell them to treasure the time they spent as a goofy, lovable scamp. You remind them how important it is to remember their roots and where they came from - to not be so eager and keen to abandon parts of who you are, just because other people told you to you had to. GW might've given their official ruling and 'officially' changed his name. I'll still respect anyone who says "Abba-don" - I'll never demand and insist and whine that they should say it my way, I'll just be here, keeping the joke alive for as long as possible for the next generation of 40k Wargamers. Your comments about the dreadtalon detachment make me think you should refund your members for their money. The detachment "makes battleshock "impactful" glosses over the fact that when you battleshock them in your turn, the next turn they reset back to normal. It also glosses over the fact that most armies have pretty good ld stat and that the stratagems are too situational.
We never said it was amazing or the best. But as a dread talon player if you play fixed and choose storm hostile objectives and behind enemy like you will be in a good scoring position. Also battle shock means they can’t use defensive strats or interrupt combat so it’s not bad for a combat army.
They also don't just rest In opponents turn, the detachment rule makes them do battleshock in there command phase within 12", which is where you want your units to be in this army, plus the -1 stacks with raptors minus 1. Its not game breaking but better than you think
Fellhamer Siege-Host. Please tell me you are not one of those people who links the Anti keyword with devastatting wounds. You do know that this edition the critical hit or wound keywords do nothing on their own, they only do stuf while part of a rule, thus you can't link Anti vehicle 4+ with devastating wounds to dish devastating wounds on a 4+. They are critical wounds, but in as part of then wording of different rules.
Weapons with [DEVASTATING WOUNDS] in their profile are known as Devastating Wounds weapons. Each time an attack is made with such a weapon, a Critical Wound inflicts a number of mortal wounds on the target equal to the Damage characteristic of that weapon and the attack sequence ends. Weapons with [ANTI-KEYWORD X+] in their profile are known as Anti weapons. Each time an attack is made with such a weapon against a target with the keyword after the word ‘Anti-’, an unmodified Wound roll of ‘x+’ scores a Critical Wound.

Deceptors as one of the strongest detachments in the book is certainly a take. I'd personally place it dead last.
Love the content and information guys, could we maybe consider ditching the preview of what were literally about to watch?
The word is pronounced artif-iss, not artif-ice
Cypher is literally useless
The proper pronunciation is AH-BEH-DONG according to the lore….totally not made up
It's pronounced "shaggadon"
Aba-don... Cos thes the don. Also because it flows better with "The Despoiler"
Abaddon? More like... Abaddon't :( Also, correct pronunciation is ABBA-DON
Needs to drop at least 50 points. And even then...
Pronouncing it 'a badden' is very Northern hahaha he literally is a badden'. But I'd say Aba don.
This was free.
