Bonide Systemic Houseplant has helped rid my plants of fungus gnats. The instructions say to reapply every 2 months but it's been 4 and I'm just now noticing them again. Beneficial nematodes work very well, too. They are not as easy to apply. Thank you for your expertise in propagating and planting Syngonium albo.
I was listening to your videos on my way to work and I cannot remember which one talks about gnats. Apple Cider Vinegar!! It saved us last year. just put some in a container and put saran wrap over the top, poke a few holes and stick the container where your plants are. (Or make a few of them and put them in different areas). I changed it out after a few weeks and left it for the rest of the season. The adults go into the container but cannot get back out, after the larvae hatches and others climb out the also go to the apple cider vinegar, eventually there are no more adults to lay eggs (seriously doesn't take long!!) You will be fungus gnat free. Now I just keep some in a cup near my plants and don't worry about it. Good Luck!!
I have tried a vinegar contraption with a plastic water bottle but I didn’t have as many plants back then 😅. The contraption didn’t attract a single gnat ☹️. My infestation is probably 95% gone, but if it comes back, I’ll try your method. Thanks! ☺️
Other than the plant tonic, it was just tap water at first and then I started using distilled water and kept changing the water once a week. I think having multiple cuttings in the same water may have something to do with promoting growth hormones 🤷🏻♂️
100% of the time, the root that you see on a cutting is an aerial root. This will grow if exposed to moisture (humidity or in water or soil) and will provide energy for the cutting to grow more leaves. Once it is a few inches in length, it can be safely planted. The term “aerial root” is simply a root that appears above the ground. All roots seek moisture so the aerials roots will sometimes grow towards the ground where there is usually more moisture and they can expand and branch into a better root system. In aerial propagation, we are pretending that the aerial roots are touching the ground lol so that they can grow quickly. Let me know if this helps! 😆
Oh-my-goodnes, u tha'man!!🤩🤩🤩 Thank you soooo mutch for taking time and answering me,you literally have just saved my Albo's🥰 !!!! I did not know this about air roots!! Thank you, Thank you!!!!🤩🥳🥰🎉
Yes a good trick that is not mentioned enough! I’ve done it for a few months and it seemed to work for a while. I think it works best if you try to dry out the soil in all your pots at the same time.
Hi there! The mother plant is in a mixture of about 50% potting soil, 20% perlite, 10% orchid bark, 5% worm castings, 5% charcoal, and 10% mosquito bits (to control fungus gnats). 😅 I guess I should've mentioned it in the video. Thanks for asking! ☺️
Have you ever tried nematodes against the fungus gnats? I use them probably once every year for my plants and the gnats go away very easily ☺️ Then I get the back because of buying new soil where there probably are lots of gnat eggs in😖🤣
I haven’t tried nematodes but I’ve had good luck with mosquito bits recently. The gnat-infested soil is usually what makes them come back for me…. So I’m trying to avoid using pre-mixed soil!
Hi Tina! I currently don’t have plans for another giveaway yet. The albo syngonium is pushing out new growth, so maybe when she slows down a bit, I may plan to do another giveaway. Thanks for checking in ☺️
I have read that this also kills some beneficial bacteria in the soil. If that’s true, then adding some superthrive in the next watering can help alleviate that. Thanks for the tip! ☺️
I wanna see how the cuttings did in moss vs in soil. ❤️

placing a dryer sheet (small piece) fabric softner sheet, ontop of the pot should keep the nats away.

Where can i buy Dr Q's liquid? thx in adv
Hi there! It’s a proprietary blend only sold in Star Nursery stores in NV, UT, and AZ. It’s very similar to Superthrive. Hope this helps!
@@SuchPlants Thanx bro
