RIP Bob......I was always cheering for you in the movie. I know many of us can relate to your character. Situations changed and molded you into a better person. That's life. You took those and changed not only you but the people around you. You def left a mark in this world. Rip.

I saw the movie and Ritchie and his brother were very contrast to each other. I was sad his brother Ritchie died so young and could've done more at the peak of his music career. We may never understand why some things happen in life but it's nice to hear that his brother lived a long life and matured. I'm pretty sure the unexpected death of his brother made him realize how precious life is.
One story I remember the most from the making of LA BAMBA was the scene where Ritchie gets on the plane. His real family was invited to watch the filming and just when Lou is about to get on the plane, Ritchie Valens’ sister goes up to him and says,”Why did you get on the plane?” while crying her eyes out...They obviously stopped filming while she hugged Lou and cried..then resumed filming..The part where Lou is being teased by The Big Bopper and you see him “sniffling” is just after they all had a good cry...including the real Bob
I have always felt deeply about this movie, it was all way before my time however, I cried like a baby in the end... the movie came out when I was a kid and now seeing it in my 40’s ... Bob had so many childhood traumas ... he was a very hurt soul in the beginning. He leaf must have turned over a few years after Ritchie’s death. I’m glad he did the work to heal and make the change to be better. RIP Bob 💔🕊🙏🏼
Love Esai he played that role so well. Yes life is a journey we make mistakes but the important thing is to learn from them his daughter is gorgeous rip

Oh my goodness I never knew Bob passed away. Rest in peace Bob. You can be with Ritchie valens and your mom. This is so heartbreaking 😭😭😭 to hear about your passing. Rest ese man
I've always thought that it would have been awesome if Ritchie and Selena, two great trailblazing artists, could have recorded something together. Ritchie would have only been around 48 in 1989 when Selena signed with EMI, and her career really started to take off. That would've been something. Makes you wonder what might have been...
Please excuse the zombie comment revive. He’d have been in his mid 50’s when Selena was about to break into the USA mainstream. Crazy to think of what could have been. I’ll do you one better: he’d have been under 30 (!) when Woodstock happened. He theoretically could have played with Santana - who did a lot of the music in La Bamba.
I think that Ritchie's death made Bob finally grow up... I saw the movie and always hated how his mother seemed to favor Ritchie more.. Bob was a lost soul that found out the hard way that life is too short and that there comes a time that you really have to grow up....
Everytime that movie comes on and I start watching my husband has to point out that. One of the musicians that was on stage at that dance place where bob got in a fight was my husbands elementary teacher lol
