Released at midnight on Thursday 21st August 1997, at a time when most albums were released on Monday, ‘Be Here Now’ sold a staggering 400,000 copies on the first day in the UK, with 663,400 sales in just 3 days. It was No.1 in fifteen countries and remained at the top of the UK Album Chart for 4 weeks. To date, it has the most album sales in the first seven days of release in UK Official Chart history, and has sold over 8 million copies globally.

Weird seeing people from the 90's in hd, all the hairstyles and clothes look so cool
yeah!
Totally see with you!!
the 90's were cool af tbh
I'm 33 now & still dress same way as I did back in 90s
George Watson The last great decade. I was 17 when this came out. This version is so much better than the original release.
Now this is what you call a remaster. The song sounds superb, and the video looks insanely crisp and clear, you'd think they filmed this yesterday!
For the moment, I even wonder how did they come back and do this again lol
yee jorahyuth is oasis fanboy
Bonehead will wish this was filmed yesterday... HE'D HAVE HIS FUCKING HAIR BACK.
Some of it atleast..
They didn't re-do. It's just a re-scan of the original film rushes. Except on a 4K spirit scanner mastered at 2K. The original master was PAL so 720x576. Rather than this version mastered at 2048x1152 then to HD.
My favourite Oasis song. You barely ever hear it on the radio. But I remember in 1997 when this song /video came out. This song is so underrated and the video is just brilliant .
Facts!
Stop abusing the word "Just" to the point it no longer has meaning.
Could not have said it better myself
It used to play every day on MTV, when MTV was the internet
But barely no radio play . Thanks.@@gamblerfls
This is my generation's version of the Beatles. They get back together again then, they would currently be the worlds biggest band. Maybe it's all part of a masterplan!
Liam was so fucking cool. The swagger. The attitude. The voice. Brilliant.
He "still" is mate!
He still is. Go watch the swagger in his new video.
he's a piece of shit that cheated on his wives multiple times, fathering kids that he knew about but never met until they were adults because "he didn't get around to it".
circle hescircle he's an awesome rock singer. Never said he was a role model. Also are you describing Lennon or Liam? Pretty sure that describes both pretty accurately
He´s also one of the thickest people I ever had the misfortune of meeting.
It's definitely the coolest Oasis vid isn't it?

It's insanity that no one has asked Liam about this video's parka. That shit is the coolest I've ever seen
StrokeMeYouInsolentHumanCuzIAmACat Try to watch "i'm outta time", i think that Liam, in that video, is fucking cool!
Together their voices harmonize perfectly. Don’t want to hear them separately. They need to just do it. The world needs them right now. This year.
They need to put their egos aside. Unfortunately I can't see either backing down.
100% agree. I have faith it will happen, just not anytime soon unfortunately.

To my fellow musicians: If this doesn't make you want to be the biggest band in the world, i don't know what will.
How beautiful is to be young. To see the band so young. One of the first videos I've seen on MTV. I was literally amazed by the music with blaring guitars, the solo parts and all those choppers. For me this video was, back then, in the " Olympus of coolness". Because the intro part, for more than twenty years, every time a helicopter is flying in the sky, this song start playing in my head.

They will “ live forever” 😂
If the Beatles were not a thing Oasis would totally be the best band in the whole fricking world
Porsupuesto que si
Calm down, calm down. It's a good song. Nowhere near The Beatles Tho
The best part of this music video is the location. Oasis filmed this music video at the Beckton Gas Works, which was used by Stanley Kubrick in Full Metal Jacket for the Vietnamese city scene.
That I didn't know
Now more retail space. Wonder if bands in a hundred years time will film videos on the site of abandoned B&M shops?
I didn't know that! My favourite film
The brothers foot tapping and singing along, now that is OASIS!
You know you're fucking old when 1997 videos are being remastered.
As for this song, those of us who were there when it came out will truly understand the hype when this was released.
You just don't get that in music anymore. I was 18 and in college. Sweet times.
18, in my last year of high school, and playing in a band when this song dropped. The 90s were a great time to be alive.
I remember the whole single, b sides and all being in the radio all day long. Stay young, angel child. It was a huge event for a single. Never be repeated. They were HUGE!
17. first love
Yes, MTV in the US treated the video premiere as a world event. It was nuts!

Step off the train all alone at dawn
Back into the hole where I was born

I was ten. This music video is embedded in my memory since then.
97 was the year of The Verve for urban hymns
I watched Supersonic (the Oasis doco movie) a couple of weeks ago and I've been listening to them ever since. I think they're my favourite band now. I missed the whole Britpop revolution, back in the day, because I was too busy listening to Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins etc. I guess I'm 20 years too late but fuck it, good music is good music...
Awesome, man!
I'm glad you've develop this interest. They're also my favourite band but have been for a while now.
Mark Furlong well I never missed it😀
Actually, Oasis never wanted their music to be called "Britpop", and I agree with them.
The Spicegirls and All Saints were Britpop, even Blur was.
Oasis was Rock'n Roll !
Mark Furlong I first got into Oasis in early 1996. I was 15 and before that I was into Green Day and grunge stuff also. I remember seeing Wonderwall on MTV in January 1996 and I didn't like it. My brothers told me I was crazy. After a couple listens I was really into and have been a huge Oasis fan ever since. I've heard everything they have put out. I remember in 1998 getting a cassette tape from a friends sister and it had all the B-sides I had never heard of. You could only get them if you bought every import single here in the states. The Internet was in its infancy and I didn't get a computer until late 1998. I don't even think anyone has all of the B-sides on a website then anyway. But the B-sides blew me away obviously. I remember watching them on SNL in Oct of 1997 and hearing Acquiesce for the first time. I taped the unplugged in August of 1996 and watched it over and over again. The same with the MTV music awards in September of 1996.
In January 1998 I saw them in concert for the first time and well it was the best I had ever seen up until that point. Before they broke up I had seen them 5 times. I wish I was in the UK so I would of gotten to see them more. In the US where I live they only came around once every 3 years or so. I have seen Noel twice now since 2011. I saw Liam's Band Beady Eye once in a tiny tiny club in DC called the 930 club. It was so loud I couldn't even hear the words Liam was singing. Liam's band broke up in 2014 and he has a solo Album coming out this year.
I can't understand why people do not like this album. To me it's a great one. I always loved every song in it. I like the production too.
i like it too, but its too long

@@kevram7901 It hit number 1 cos of support for Oasis I reckon. It is a good song but I don't think they'd have made their name off it like Supersonic or Wonderwall. It's just that the production and sound is a bit different, it's like a big multi-layered psychedelic soup of a sound. It's bordering on My Bloody Valentine levels of guitar. Definitely more experimental than their earlier stuff, makes it my favourite tune by them.

Liam: "biblical"
"Biblica, d'you know wha I mean?"

@@celiaosborne3801 they actually only used 2 helicopters in the video, they used post production editing to make it look like more
"The helicopters used were British Army Westland Lynx AH.7s. One is an AH.7(DAS) variant, notable for the distinctive ALQ-144 (disco ball) infra-red jammer under the tail. The other is a straight AH.7, albeit with a TOW antitank missile sight mounted over the left-hand front seat. Although only two helicopters were used, post-production techniques such as split screen editing, and clever camera angling produced the numerous helicopters seen in the video. "

Liam's attitude just is the same as when he was in his 20's. And sunglasses, parker and tambourine are timeless, too. I ♡ him.
That is not a good thing
I cant help myself. Im just able to listen this song like 10 times over again and still I cant get enough!
After watching this I wish they would sort their differences and just do another tour. I just want to see them live once before I die.
I agree
Noel cant relax. Liam is all he is ever going to be. if noel wants some kind of touching heart felt tribute to himself from Liam of a kind of apology, he needs to pull his finger out. Liven up, have fun.
Reuben Charles they ain't that good !
they have made up now
And thus began the greatest love affair in rock history: Liam and Parkas
Paarkahs
😄
Best comment ever ❤️
Nonsense. He always wore them throughout his time with Oasis.
Parka Poser?
A song for a generation, Oasis were the last, great, true British band that had the passion, soul and drive to blow the bleeding doors off!. Still remember hearing this on the radio at work before it came out, I was stomping my feet like a storm trooper. Special days, special time.
“I ain’t good lookin but I’m someone’s child, no one can take the air that’s mine to breeeeeaaaaaath
The video quality of the remaster is such a visual achievement.
Agreed. Amazing quality.
The audio work too, just hear them choppers passing, lovely! #MadFerIt
@@thebadradio5340 the audio is from NG's Rethink of D'You Know What I Mean. It was released with the Deluxe Edition in 2016 or something like that
@@willyc.8141 Didn`t know that, thanks!
@@willyc.8141 00....or 01'?
I know this is an HD Remaster, but this video is so clear it looks like it was made in 2017, not 1997.
Gives me the same feeling as the “hello, goodbye” or “strawberry fields forever” by the Beatles, they were filmed in the 60’s and look so good
@JOHN ALLAKER Really?! Do you know anything about knebworth or other music video remaster by any chance? It seems that knebworth was filmed by film camera but there is no other video except champagne supernova and cast no shadow. Lastly, hasn't this 4k video of the Remaster version been released yet? Only Fhd is all on UA-cam. I'm sure a 35mm film would have remastered 4k as you said.
Even back in 1997 (?) they didn't just record on VHS, d'ya know what I mean? :)
Well, we need more videos from Oasis with this stunning quality
Golden era of MTV. 90-00 videos better than 10-20s, even cheap ones.. Through their creativity
Some of there songs still give me goosebumps to this day. I didn’t appreciate oasis enough as a kid because I was going through a grunge phase as a kid but I love this band so much now.
If these brothers could get along - how much more awesome music could they've come up with - the beef ain't worth it life's too short
Oasis man, what a hell of a band.. Rock stars like this aren't around anymore... Will always love them and their music... Cheers !
The Micawbers
Really makes you miss them, don't it?
I miss this line up of Oasis for sure.
It’s more depressing looking at the younger generation and era we re in today compared to this !
One of the soundtracks of my high school and student life. Still blows away my negative thoughts and concerns when I listen to it. Thank you Oasis.
"listen to that whole album there is no bass on that entire album, we made that in a weekend, that album is just the product of ten or so guys on coke for a weekend just playing"
-noel
We don't want remaster , we want reunion
I've heard him, he still sounds pretty good (in my opinion).
I mean first off all... They hate each other. So for a reunion to happen they have to not hate each other's guts
@@andrester88 ahemmm?liam said srry to noel!?maybe theyll get back 2gether! >=(
Ok srry
Please do!!!!😊
Their music style never gets old
1000% true 💯💯💯💯❤️🔥✨👑🐐
I think rock is now more than old. It's dead.
1 off there best tune s scfc
Because it was never new to begin with.
Say you're the biggest band in the world for time without saying you're the biggest band in the world at the time
“I met my maker, I made him cry!”
Fucking goosebumps when he bellows that out. Without doubt one of Oasis’ best tunes
Absolutely fantastic
This is one of the oddest moments ever. All those 20 something people there filmed in Full HD resolution, in the prime of their life, are around 50 years old right now. Before, you could not imagine your parents when they said 'when I was young' or they would be in old colour photographs. But to see this in full HD video, it's doesn't seem like any time has passed between 1996 and now.
You know what's crazier? This was shot on 35mm film. Which is approximately the equivalent of 4K when transferred to digital. Still waiting for the 4K scan of this film.
You mean 1997
