This is the first Oasis song I ever heard in my life. I was 14 years old, and watching MTV Brazil by the dawn in a saturday, I saw this videoclip. It changed my life and still one of my favourite Oasis's songs.

I lived in England from ‘95-‘99. They were so great like nothing I’d ever heard. The drugs and the hard knocks etc. got the best of them but I really did believe they have sorted it out by now. We’re in our 50s now. Just crazy. Nothing but love.

Used to never like this song. After giving it another chance this month after not listening to the album in years, this song is slowly becoming my anthem. This song is about being yourself and staying true to what you believe. If you let people push you around and tell you how to live and tell you what you should do, it does end up being "All too much to take."

Oasis is still a powerhouse, but a powerhouse that ended too soon
They were putting music out for 15 years. The Beatles= 7 years. Zeppelin's classic albums were all released in about 7 years, give or take. If Be Here Now was condensed to a phenomenal 40 minutes (which it had the potential to do so), and The Masterplan released as actual album, then have a couple solid albums after, they would've solidified themselves as working class, rock and roll gods.
There's also the fact that every great band didn't just have one great songwriter/ visionary (McCartney/ Lennon, Page/ Plant, Jagger/ Richards, etc.). Although Noel was a fucking powerhouse of a songwriter in his prime, Oasis needed an another great source of creative input to keep things varied and fresh.
Liam's voice is fucking kick-ass though.
