Awesome interview. John has been around a long time and doesn’t get the recognition he deserves. He’s easily up there with Vai, Satriani, and Petrucci.

I had no idea he's such a nice, easy going, honest, humble, sincere, great storytelling person! First time I ever listened to him at length. Not what I imagine a rock star guitarist to be (with no ego at all) but he's a rock star of a human being for sure!

All these “celebrities” in Hollywood, are assholes. They have 100’s of millions in the bank & can’t give an autograph. I understand time & place, but when they have a New Movie coming out….totally different ppl. Couldn’t be nicer.
Slash is not only the best for a long time, but he’s so chilled out, relaxed, and talk to his fans. This guy seems to have the same disposition as Slash. Never heard of him before this interview, but seems super cool.
I've met Jonn several times, and he couldn't be any nicer. Always willing to talk music, and willing to just hang out. Never had an ego, and he never gave off that "I'm a guitar diva" mentality. John is total class.
He let my brother play his guitar called Goldie backstage at Rippers Rockhouse. Great guy.

@@DrMurdercock I also saw a video where a kid brought a J5 Tele for him to sign, and he had modified it to include a battery powered light. John was so blown away and impressed - he just thought it was the coolest thing. But the amount of respect he showed this kid's guitar was crazy. I have seen other musicians toss stuff down and scribble quick on it. John laid that guitar down so gently on a table and carefully tried to figure out the best place to sign it that would show up - but the way he laid it down - I've seen people handle newborn babies with less care! 🤣 A true musician's musician. No ego and just great respect.

Dude is “practicing” as this interview manifests! He’s fingering chords: noodling solos: and is offering true to a Star that offers NO Fear to get up with ANY cat that prefers to PLAY some Songs we end up loving to listen to!
Never gave John 5 much thought. I knew he was a virtuoso, but that was all I knew about him. After watching this video, I have total respect and admiration for him. Now I'm a big fan. He's talented, humble and even drug free. Very cool guy!
I've been a fan of John 5 since I seen him on the MTV video music awards as a little kid. I actually have his 1st performance with Marylin Manson on VHS 😂❤
John is such a genuinely sweet guy and great musician. He’s exactly my age too. Hard not to admire his talent, dedication and attitude. Just seems like a wonderful, thoughtful guy.
Somewhen, somehow I wanna have the chance to meet this. I love him. Outstanding Guitarist and always smiling and kind on interviews or shows. He is one of the reason i start learning/playing Guitar.
John 5 is the best guitar player that's hit the scene in the past 30 years, any band he plays with he always makes Them sound better, he has a sound and style of his own, alit of respect for that guy
Very happy to see this! I met John5 at the Kirk Hammett Fear Fest Evil in San Jose, he was such a friendly and funny guy. Love watching him talk music and guitars for hours 🤘🏽

John was friends with a friend of mine who passed away a couple of years back. Her husband was Robs (Zombie) sound guy at the time. I met John at a small bar show in Northern California. After the show he and my friend were catching up and I was hanging back waiting to leave. John walks up to me with his hand out and says, "Hi, my name is John, nice to meet you." I thought it was really funny considering I just watched his show, but he's just a regular guy like everyone else. Super humble and down to earth.
I love John’s view that “life without risk is no life at all.” That train of thought is what separates successful musicians from everyone else in the game.
John is a great guy man, straight up genuine Rock Star who always has something good to say about anyone and almost everything.🤘🏼

The more I listen to John talk, the more I like him. If there was a template for a young person to follow, to become successful at whatever they choose to do, it's John. How refreshing it is to have a rock star who doesn't drink, do drugs, and not even coffee. He cares about the fans' experience at concerts. He is truly a stand-up guy, super hard worker, and always a gentleman. Thank you John, for doing what you do...

John 5 you are the perfect guitarist that has learned from all your predecessors, some that are pretty big. You do not do any drugs, alcohol or crazy stuff that may affect your ability to play. You are very down to earth, very humble, and just a great guy to be around. I never saw Hendrix play but I was a huge VH fan as you are. Music from the outside looks very glamerous but I know that its allot of work on the part of the musicians like you. I can see you lasting at least 25 years and remaining successful the whole time. Don't change a thing.

All my life, I’ve watched and listened to Marilyn Manson songs and be like wow John 5 is really something. Now, I learn I just grew to be a vegetarian and a non alcohol user just like him.

John5 is my guitar idol. I’ve been playing for about 6 years and have always looked up to John5. I’ve seen him play a bunch of times and twice with his solo act. Last time I got to meet him before the show started. It was amazing meeting my guitar hero. It motivated me to practice more.
