There is no “angry anti-immigrant rhetoric”. There’s angry anti-ILLEGAL immigrant sentiment. Being an illegal in a foreign country and acting like you have a right to be there makes as much sense to me as breaking into someone’s home and then demanding that they let you live there.
@@shaylaramiirez In a utopian (perfect world) we shouldn't have any forms of control. Unfortunately, Gunpowder & Lace forgot that humans are no longer perfect from the time God created us which is why control measures need to be in place otherwise there would be societal chaos a lot more worse than we have now. And if you think it's so bad right now living in certain countries wait till you see the day they remove all laws and other forms of control. Control actually starts from your family with the way your parents discipline you and maybe even subjected you to physical, financial or other forms of "penalties" if you don't behave according to socially accepted norms. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want your next-door neighbor to just climb over your fence and eat from your fridge just because they're hungry and desperate. Immigration laws are just an extension of these concepts. Someday, you will have your own kids and the moment you discipline them for doing something wrong please remember what I just told you. Every country has immigration laws even the ones your parents may have come from and they were put in place precisely to protect the welfare of people living there. This is the reason why Americans can't just go to live and work in Mexico or elsewhere on the planet for whatever reasons. I've known folks who've been living here in the shadows for decades and people just like them should even be thankful to the US for being tolerated to stay here that long coz in other countries you'd be lucky if you don't get deported within 6 months for being undocumented.
I don’t think illegals can get a drivers license. Is it stupid to want your family to have a better future? I don’t find that stupid? Obviously you are.
In some states they can get a driver's license. I assume you are a child due to your name-calling but anyhow, people that do not have licenses should not drive because they will get arrested. If you are not here legally, you will be put into the system which then can get you noticed by ICE. He should have done what millions of Americans do and take public transit or arrange car pools. I used to work with a crew of illegal immigrants and they were dropped off by a white van every day. I would imagine that the majority of people getting deported now are people who got into the system for stupid things like public drunk, shoplifting, DUI, and driving without a license - all easily avoidable. Domestic violence is probably next on the list but then I don't think many would disagree that such people should be deported.
In my state, those drivers are marked with a special legend indicating special limits apply. They are easily discernible from the licenses issued to those who are legally present in the United States.

@@paulbryan6716 Okay, even more reason for these coward men to fight for themselves in their own countries. Of course not, they want to come to the U.S.A. and have everything handed to them. B.S> 🤢
If they entered the USA as illegal immigrants, then surely they must realise that if & when they are caught, they will simply be sent back to their home country - no matter how long they may have lived in the USA & established a life for themselves there - it is totally unrealistic to expect anything else. The very act of entering a country illegally makes them a criminal who is just waiting to be caught. And if they are caught - there will likely be severe restrictions placed on them entering the country in the future. If people entering the US are not US citizens or in the US on any kind of valid visa or entry permit - that is the very best they can hope for (to be deported). And if they happen to commit further crimes, or are charged with further criminal offences in their "adopted" country, their chances of ever being granted a valid visa or citizenship are virtually nil. People who are in a country illegally to start with are highly unlikely to be granted a visa/entry permit or citizenship, unless the country happens to announce some kind of amnesty for illegal immigrants. The fact is, most countries already have enough criminals of their own, without wanting even further illegal immigrants in their country, who are totally undocumented, with no background checks, & who, for all they know, might be criminals or other undesirables. Even illegal immigrants who may have spent the majority of their lives in the USA cannot expect to be treated any differently. I don't know how the US citizenship laws operate, or what the US citizenship status is, of US-born children of illegal immigrants. If it's a case of anyone who is born in the US is a US citizen - then if an illegal immigrant chooses to have their children born in the US - they certainly risk being separated from those children, once they are deported, & that is something they should be very seriously considering before they even decide to have children in the US, unless they wish to take those children back to Mexico with them when they are deported. In some countries, for a child born in that country to be a citizen of that country, it requires at least one of their birth parents to be a citizen of that country at the time of the child's birth. If that is not the case, the parents risk making their own children stateless, unless the children would be regarded as a citizen of one of their parents' home countries, under that country's citizenship laws. About 35 years ago, my own country changed its citizenship laws. It used to be that all children born in our country were automatically citizens. However the government found that many women or families came here (on valid visas or otherwise) just so their children could be born here as citizens, thus providing a means for at least the mother & child to remain in the country, while the rest of the family returned to their home country. The government then changed the citizenship laws so that in order for a child born in the country to be a citizen - at least one of their parents had to be a citizen (or in the country on a "permanent residency visa") at the time of the child's birth. This might have resulted in some children born in the country being "stateless", unless they would be considered a citizen of one of their parents' home countries, under the laws of that country. But people might still be deported from a country even if they are in the country legally, on some type of valid visa or entry permit, If they then commit crimes in that country, they will probably be seen as an "undesirable" & will have their visa/entry permit cancelled & be deported, after serving their prison sentence. Even in my own country there have been cases where people legally migrated to the country & have been living there for many years - in some cases 20 or 30 years - but never applied to actually take out citizenship - so they are still living in the country legally, on the basis of their permanent resident visa/entry permit. At some point these people have developed an extensive criminal record in their adopted country - so the government now regards them as an "undesirable" & has cancelled their residency visas & deported them back to their countries of origin, after they served their prison sentences. In one case, the country of origin was Croatia, & in another case it was the UK. Both of these particular deportees had legally migrated to our country on permanent residency visas as young children with their parents & families many years earlier. But they never actually applied to take out citizenship, & due to the extensive criminal history that they had developed in their adopted country, even if they had applied for citizenship, there is no way it would have been granted to anyone with such a criminal record. So the country decided to cancel their permanent residency visas & deport them when they were finally released from gaol. They obviously had to leave behind their parents, brothers & sisters & the rest of their families - all of which I believe is reasonable under the circumstances, given an extensive criminal record. As previously mentioned, most countries already have enough home-grown criminals without wishing to import any more from other countries. I guess the moral of that story is - when you choose to legally migrate to a country - make sure you take out citizenship as soon as possible & don't simply rely on a residency visa to remain in the country. Because once you get a criminal record, that visa can easily be cancelled & you will be deported. On the other hand, if you are already a citizen of that country - they cannot deport you, unless they can prove you gained your citizenship under false pretences by lying or providing false documentation. In such cases, people will be stripped of their citizenship & then deported. But anyone who enters a country illegally, is a criminal from the outset - who is just waiting to be caught & deported. Many illegal immigrants seem to think that if they work hard, keep their heads down, & build a good life & a family for themselves in their new country, they should be allowed to remain in that country. But they forget that they are still a criminal who has entered that country illegally, & can never escape that fact. In some cases, it's possible to feel sorry for very young children whose parents took them illegally into another country, before the children were old enough to realise what was really happening to them. But that is still the fault of their parents, not the government of the country they were taken to - & the children must understand that they only have their parents to blame for that. For the US citizen children of deportees - they too must understand that it is not the government's fault for deporting their parent/s - it is the fault of their parent/s who entered the country illegally - thus committing a crime. So the first crime is that these people are entering the USA illegally. But it does not end there. Once they get to the USA, what do they do? They have to have some means of earning an income, in order to support themselves - but it's highly unlikely they can gain employment legally, if they cannot prove they are in the USA legally. So chances are, they are probably either working in the "black market" economy - where they are paid "cash in hand" by some rather dodgy employer - & they don't pay any income taxes etc - or they may be using falsified/forged documents purporting to show they are in the USA legally. That's crime number 2. So once in the USA, these people very quickly continue to commit further crimes, to sustain themselves. Another possibility is that they might be using "genuine" documentation obtained by stealing someone else's identity. With their criminal record very quickly starting to develop once they reach the USA, ultimately these people have very little chance of ever being able to become US citizens. Because once a criminal record background check is done on them as part of the citizenship application process, & their criminal record is discovered, I'm sure the US would view them as "undesirables" & their citizenship applications would not proceed any further. If by some chance it was approved, because either they were using forged documents, or a stolen identity - they would later be stripped of that citizenship when those crimes were discovered - because they had obtained their citizenship through lying & false pretences. I'm sure that everyone would view these kinds of people as inappropriate candidates for citizenship. In order to avoid the situation, where US-born children of illegal immigrants may be US citizens - perhaps the USA should consider changing its citizenship laws to those adopted in many other countries - where in order to be considered a citizen of the country in which they were born - at least one of the childs' parents also needs to have been a citizen of that country (or hold a "permanent residency" visa), at the time of the child's birth. This could help to avoid the situation where the US-born children of deportees, who remain behind in the USA (as US citizens), may then need to be supported by the government through social security & welfare payments etc. If the children are not US citizens, they would then be deported along with their parents, & there would be no welfare burden on the government....
Janburn007, very well stated. I agree with everything except the suggestion that the US should change it's laws to accommodate the children of illegal parents. America should enforce their laws. The law as far as babies becoming citizens was for children of slaves. However you have people not only illegally coming accross the border to have their children we also have a great deal of people flying over here to have their babies from other countries. There's also a great deal of people living over here illegally not only from Mexico, however just as many from other countries that have expired green cards, etc. This situation is so out of hand that I wouldn't be surprised if more than half the people here are illegal. Especially due to the number of years this has taken place and the ridiculous influx in recent years, there are probably more illegall people than US citizens. Totally unacceptable! Laws should be enforced to bring about order and an example of the consequences when one chooses not to obey. That would eliminate most of all the homegrown lawlessness we are suffering in the US today. Totally out of control!

United States citizens will not allow illegal foreigners to come into our country and ruin what we have built here and continually disrespect our laws.
Ciah Alvarez. Yes, to keep the U.S. a good place to live, the government needs to control immigration and stop illegal immigrants...everyone can't just come to the U.S...that's why countries have limits..otherwise you end up with too many people, not enough jobs, and more crimes
karan dilday pay attention to the time line! All the children were born in the USA. The United States has birthright citizenship. If the children were born in the USA, they’re citizens.
And that is indeed what actually happens under the laws of many other countries. They make it very difficult indeed for deportees to return to their country. I'm not sure what the process is in the US - but the US may well make it easier for former deportees to return, than some other countries do.
Well, most of them CAN'T come here legally because they don't meet our criteria. That doesn't make it OK for them to break our laws and enter illegally.
@@sylviabargas3340 If they don't meet the criteria for entering the US legally - then they should never go there (to the US in the first place. To do anything else is simply breaking the US laws.
Let's discuss poor Raphael who looks about 40 and was driving without a license. Why no license? Was he too irresponsible to get one after 30 years? Or did he lose his drivers license by getting caught driving drunk? No matter. Because if Raphael had no license, he also had no car insurance. A poor deportee such as Raphael T-boned my SUV. My car was totaled and I went to the hospital. "Raphael" fled the scene but was caught later. I had to pay the $54,000 in bills myself. "Uninsured motorist" insurance is limited. Give poor Raphael another look and see how casual and dismissive he is about the financial liability he exposed every American to. Videos like this one have all the sympathy in the world for the Raphaels but none for the American citizens who clean up their mess and pay for their carelessness.
Same thing happened to me many years ago. The guy came from 2 cars behind me to pass us all. It was only a 2 lane road, here he comes flying on the left not a care in the world. I don't think you can apply for US citizenship while you are in the US illegally. I think any period of time that you are in the US illegally does not count for US citizenship eligibility purposes. You would probably have to wait for some kind of "amnesty" to be declared for illegal immigrants, then apply for that "amnesty" to regularise & legalise one's residency in the US. Then if one wanted to become a US citizen, one would probably have to count the US residency period only from the time one became a legal US resident. Then, providing one met all the other US citizenship criteria, one could probably apply for & become a US citizen.
each country has to LEARN to TAKE CARE OF THEIR PEOPLE us has been doing this for them over 100 yrs they got used to it us gov fault some gov get BRIBES for letting them in

The one father was deported after working 17 years on a job, purchased a home, I have to presume paid taxes, and left FIVE children behind. It pulled at my heart string, but he was driving without a license, so you can bet he had no auto insurance. How many American citizens carry the burden of illegals when they drive with no license and then demolish your car and put you and/or your family in the hospital? I know there are American citizens guilty of the same thing but the only recourse with illegals is to deport them, and that is what we have to do.
So are American citizens separated from their children when they go to jail for breaking the law. Do you feel sorry for them and their children? What's the difference? I don't understand why people don't comprehend this.
I don't disagree with you. Not at all. But it's worth pointing out that there IS something we can do to protect ourselves from the situation you described. It's by having an "Uninsured Motorist" provision in your auto insurance policy. That way, if you are injured in an accident caused by someone without auto insurance, your own insurance will cover it. You have to pay a higher premium for this, but it's worth it.
It's really immaterial whether there are American citizens who may be guilty of the same kinds of offences as some of the illegal immigrants. The point to make there is that the US already has enough criminals of its own to deal with, without allowing any more people into the country that are going to commit criminal offences. The US may not be in a position to do much about the criminals who are already US citizens - as it cannot deport them. But it CAN do something about the illegal immigrants who enter the US & then commit criminal offences - it can deport them. And it should enforce the law by deporting any known illegal immigrants who commit criminal offences in the US - in addition, of course, to any illegal immigrants at all, who may become known to the authorities, even before they have committed any criminal offences. Just being an illegal immigrant on its own, is an offence against the US law. Even if they have been living & working in the US for 17 years - they were working in the country illegally because they had no right to even be in the US, if they were an illegal immigrant.
I just have to add why you should be documented.... A loved one of ours was raped by 2-3 illegal immigrants from Mexico. We had no hearing, we had no even help in catching these criminals. @@patrickmurphy953 Some people do leave altogether. To speak in a way that seems to suggest that they all break up their families is just ignorant. There are some bad seeds like in any other nationality.
@@patrickmurphy953 Some members of the family--the children--may have been born here and be U.S. citizens. But even when that's not the case, ICE seems to have a process in place for who gets prioretized for deportation. They concentrate on the ones who've been arrested and charged with some crime. That could be something minor, like a traffic violation, or more serious stuff like drug trafficking. So the end result in many cases is that one member of the family is deported, but the others aren't.
There is always a choice to keep the family together, by all family members returning back to their country of origin together. If they value their families so much, it's a shame more of them do not choose that option - so they can still all be together as a family.

@lindacarroll10 Not really. Many do jobs that most Citizens do not wanna do. Some jobs that are essential in agriculture, construction and the overall economy. Jobs where machines wouldn't do as good a job as crew of people would do. I can see both sides. Sure the border needs to be secure. Not all coming in are the best people. But to suggest as the guy above mentions that they prefer separating their families than keeping the family together is just ignorant.
@@omegarugal450 that is not true. Americans have always had those jobs. To say that American Citizens don't want to do those jobs is disingenuous of anyone making that false claim. The people coming over here illegally are taking those jobs for cheap labor, hence putting Americans out of work. Who do you think used to do domestic work, construction and gardening all those years? And as far as the Agriculture jobs excuse, Americans gladly or out of necessity took those jobs also. I know firsthand because many years ago my grandmother left Oklahoma and met up with her cousins that lived in the central valley areas like Fresno and Bakersfield to do that type of work. That task could be done today by Americans that are in jail or prison for a menial wage. And before you argue that it's too dangerous please know that they help with forest fires all the time. There are no excuses to not obey laws. They could come over here temporarily as they have in years past to do agricultural work also. It's not fair to Americans to allow people to come over here and under cut their means of making a living PERIOD! Obey the laws! Americans have to. And as far as accusing some guy for making the statement that "they would prefer to allow their families to be separated" as an ignorant statement is calling the cattle black. Funny thing is I just happened to see a border film today where a husband was deported to Mexico and his American wife and children moved to Mexico so the family could be together so, yeah, another false narrative that the Hispanic family's are so close nit. I was one of those that believed that however the guy makes a good point because I have never seen or heard that happen with any person or family crossing the border illegally and getting deported. Absolutely not even one. So it appears the Americans value their families more because I often wondered why the rest of the family never move to Mexico with their loved one, even temporarily like the American lady did? In another situation a ladies teenage son that lived here practically all his life was deported. Why didn't the mother join her devastated son?! Hummm?! US citizens are starting to wise up because it's so out of hand that false media and corrupt leaders can no longer cover it up!

I wish people would quit blaming the U.S. for this Mexican problem. If the Mexican government could get a handle on their bribery/mordida problems it would go a long way towards making Mexico great again. The amount of money mayors, governors, politicians etc. walk off with is absolutely stunning, I had no idea Mexico had so much money available. Sadly it seems to go into the pockets of corrupt public servants/politicians. Fix your own country, Mexico, before laying any blame on the U.S.
You can't come into this country and not attempt to get legalized. It's interesting that many people never leave their country and survive just fine. Legal is the way

The guy was stupid driving without a license. He destroyed his family. sad

We Are Citizens!
Exactly

How dare you kick me out of your house after I came in uninvited. Give me stuff!!

I don't understand why they feel so entitled to be here. Keyword - "illegal"
Jajaja FIVE kids whom WE paid for…yuuuuuck

Better brush up on your spanish. LMAO
I just have to add why you should be documented.... A loved one of ours was raped by 2-3 illegal immigrants from Mexico. We had no hearing, we had no even help in catching these criminals. They just went back over the border, and came back.... We have no closure, especially the victim... Yet they can go back and forth depending on their needs.... Look into the eyes of our family member and tell her oh well!!! We could've caught them if..... They were registered, living in America with documentation. So don't tell me, it's awful. Were living life we didn't even think could happen to one our own. I have to let my heart heal, to get rid of this awful resentment. With God it's possible....... What sensible man sets up house and takes on a family so irresponsibly without foundation?
funny how they gripe about family separations , but if 1 spouse gets deported the other never goes with them
Not 100% true. Know of some people who just call it quits and left. Or others who stay to pay for the so called "coyotes". I can't speak for those who simply stayed because they wanted to and ditched their spouses though.
What happened to deporting the whole family ? Keeping the family together.

Why don't research how long it takes to get that visa, if you ever get one at all. You grandparents likely believe the immigration process has not changed since they came, but they are wrong.

@@omegarugal450 on US taxpayers dime. Yes! A good gig that Americans pay for over and over again. Moot point.
