It was just one of those weird moments where you sync up, like when you say something at the same time as a close friend or brother. They've known each other and been fighting alongside each other for decades.
Despite now finding themselves on opposite sides, Obi-Wan and Darth Vader couldn't help themselves and had a mini lightsaber rave during their duel to the death. Neither fighter had to say a word, they both knew it was the awesome thing to do.
the weird saber twirling maneuver thing is basically this: when two skilled force users who also know each other very closely are trying to predict each other's next moves through the force which results in a stalemate until eventually they both stop looking for an opening and just clash sabers again
this actually isn’t true at all, for anakin, this spin is part of his form (form IV, or ataru) the key to this form is making sure your saber is always moving, the more momentum your blade has the more power you can generate on a swing, for obi wan this spin is also part of his form, (Form iii, or soresu) but his is a more “defensive” spin than anything, he’s basically biding his time and waiting for an attack so he can defend and perhaps counter, the mirroring of the attack portrays an almost “whatever you can do i can do better” as well as the battle between good and evil, one’s spin is defensive, the other is attacking, it’s really really smartly worked out
I nerded out and learned how to do the figure 8, obi ani, reverse obi ani, reverse grip figure 8 etc and the blisters you get from doing this are gnarly
@@howardlam6181I was hoping to see someone defend this. It's funny how scenes exactly like this are pointed out and excused with the same dumb reason they could've used to defend the same sequels. People wouldve complained if this same scene was in the sequels which it was(Ben Solo fighting Knights of Ren) Nostalgia is a helluva drug and I dont even like the sequels
@@willisstillhere8846 I watched it like 10 years after its release and I watched for free on public broadcast TV along with ads. I doubt Nostalgia would play into a factor of my analysis.
I also thought it was weird at first but then I remembered it even happens in games like Tekken where the opponent and I both attack then cancel our attacks at the same time which makes us stare at each other for an awkward second lol
Hello there!
Obi-Wan Kenobi typical from your last video

I’ll try spinning that’s a good trick
Did you figure out how to do it?
@@4d-fatcat857thats a phrase Anakin said in the Phantom Menace
You know George Lucas set out to make the undeniably best lightsaber battle that would ever be filmed, and he was spot on.
They're just idly twirling the lightsabers...MENACINGLY!!!!
General Kenobi.
You're a skilled Jedi, you must be very proud.

Obi wan kenobi: Hello There anakin
Anakin: Turns on lightsaber
Oooo so they can fight on mustifar so anakin can die.
These two are unmatched

Cool Story Bro

I wish I had a light saber
If it makes you feel any better, noone else has one.
My favorite scene of you two
General Ravioli Vs the low ground
just to be clear I was baiting his attack but he managed to know I was gonna do it so it just looks stupid from a certain point view
General Kenobi!
Hello there!
Is my icon general grievous
General Grievous not on the comment section but on the channel profile it is.
Thanks you
General Grievous I am not sure if I can take that thank, you are on the Dark Side, I am a Jedi.

The negotiations were longer than I hoped. *Sigh* this is so uncivilized.
Gameplay in Witcher 3 be like
Master Kenobi? Is that really you, master?
What was it like cutting off Anakin Limbs
I say yep.
Hello old chum
Hello master obi Wan. May we talk
*Hello there*
The gaming Hugo hello there.
Good beating him
King Andrei MCPE and more yes.
don’t get me wrong i love this fight but i always thought the part where they just swing their lightsabers around in the air was dumb

Plot twist they had there light sabres together so long a nuke went off and killed them both
No.....
not
Why do Directors and Animators even did these pointless moments of silence?
Both fainting their attacks because they both can read mind through the force.
