the lightning flash showing Anakin then shifting back to Vader was amazing and should have been in the actual show. and because it hasn't been said enough f$ck that camera man who shot the Vader Obi-Wan final fight.
The shaky cam was so horrible in the final fight. It was disgustingly awful. It was not just a few times (in which it could’ve made sense) but it was used EVERY SINGLE SECOND OF THE FIGHT!!
Right this was so cool to see !! Even if it were just one transition from Vader to Anakin and back to Vader would’ve been so cool! Also Flashbacks would’ve been great
@@JÆK.02 Camera man: Sir, the next scene with them fighting will occur... How shall I shoot this? The Director: Shake and move the camera all over the place, then shove the camera up Obi-Wan's arsehole. The Camera man: ex-excuse me sir? Lead cinematographer: DEW IT!
It'll fly if it's worthy... and it looks like it is. PJ95 is one of those guys people should listen to more because he's doing some interesting things to add dimensions to the story telling
I know I'm in the minority here, but despite it being an absolutely incredibly well done edit, I think the flash to Anakin defeats the whole emotional point. Obviously Obi-Wan knows who Vader is and that's haunting him, but to cope he sort of has a disconnect and just begins to see him as "Ex-Anakin and now is a big black robot that needs to be stopped". It's not until he actually sees Anakin in the suit with his own two eyes that he's reminded that it is still literally Anakin Skywalker in the flesh and he has that emotional breakdown. Up until then he's been able to mostly compose himself. It really is a case of less is more. If he's constantly seeing that it's Anakin in the suit, where's the massive emotional crescendo when he slices the helmet and physically sees the person he already knew was in there. If you're already going big, you can only go so much bigger and still have an impact.
It’s a ridiculous choice which demonstrates that they did not understand the most emotional moments of the original series, or the structure that lead to it.
It's more so trying to mirror how the fight will occur just like it did 10 years ago. And it hammers home that Anakin when he is unmasked again is a completely different person
I completely agree. There's a difference between something being well executed, and whether it's actually necessary to the overall narrative. It's well done, but I feel it cheapens the ultimate reveal.
Making Kenobi outright crazy is perfect, in a way: Vader hallucinates about Padme frequently as well in the comics, and we know that Masters and Padiwans often share a connection that the Jedi Order really doesn't want to acknowledge, so Kenobi hallucinating about the past himself as a result makes a lot of sense. In fact, it even kind of fills in one of the plot holes, because Kenobi would demonstrably know that Anakin is in their _somewhere,_ at a fundamental level, even if he himself doesn't see how Vader can be redeemed. Basically, leaving Vader alive is the kind of thing Kenobi would think is because he's just spooked by the visions he's been having, but the audience can understand that as the Force pushing him, because the Force still needs Vader alive to stop Palpatine. Regardless, Kenboi accepting that outcome keeps him open to the Force, setting the stage for Rebels and A New Hope.
I don’t know if to be sad, happy.. or disappointed.. I am everything at the same time now… but mostly I am amazed by the work of the Andor actor and I wish I knew what BS or corruption goes on behind the show so that Obi became what it became
I haven't been this excited for Kenobi ever, even before the release of the show. This actually looks like it has heart, unlike the soulless corporate show we were delivered.
The fact that the VFX guy working on this worked on Andor s1 really makes me happy for this project. Glad there are people at Disney who actually care about the series enough to try and make it more lore-accurate. The lightning flash Anakin scene and the proper Pau'an Grand Inquisitor are definitely my favorite changes. I think the biggest change I'd like to see them make would be to reduce the EU-level Force power scaling with Vader - like ripping the entire wall of a shuttle away to get inside it. I very much prefer when Vader's Force powers are more within the realm of what we see in the OT, where they're a lot more grounded but still supernatural. Like what I'd like to see is him ripping just the shuttle's outer door off its hinges and going inside the shuttle to look for Kenobi, only seeing the second shuttle escaping after he's checked the interior of the first.
I saw an edit that portrays reevas treason a lil bit more stealthy, distracting vader from focusing on kenobi’s ship in order to stop reevas saber. I think it fits better, but conflict a little bit with vader so casually fighting reeva. He’d be so pissed and angry that the edit should show the same action between them but at 2x speed, as vader quickly reacts, partially disarms and wounds her
I'm honestly impressed at the passion. This is too good to be just an edit. I'm never going to stop holding entertainment to a higher standard considering what could have been.
I agree , time does past slowly when those fanmades star wars are entaining and now a visual effect artist improving the slurpy Produktion these professionals at a company with many resources at they disposal that failed... If only they was a will to atleast given contracts or not to unheard produktion teams to use these resources to made fanfictions then Disney won't have issues...tencent is a perfect example.
@@DS9TREK Copyright should be like patents, 20 years max. Can you imagine if patents lasted lifetimes + 75 years, we'd still be stuck with 1920s tech. Also, professional artists existed before copyright laws. And culture is produced through constant exchange and borrowing, no one is truly original, everyone steals idea from other people.
Another fantastic example of a fan editor going above and beyond is what Adywan has done with his Star Wars revisited edits of the original trilogy. I've only seen his Empire Strikes Back but he filmed scenes, added in some great quality stop motion, and did a great job blending the theatrical version with the special edition. Definitely worth checking out

Super cool with what fans from the community are coming out with edit wise!!
logic and canon arent the same. by logic, even this modified version would be too thick... so I think, the classic canon-style is much better. this thin version is ridiculous. :D
Reva is integral to Kenobi (and a great character!) so I am immediately suspicious of any edit that removes or minimizes her role. This fan edit looks great, and I hope they don’t cut her out.

I always said that in the final battle between Obi-Wan and Anakin there should've been flash back scenes to their younger selves like how some anime does their's when certain characters have history together
That would’ve been cool and that’s basically Kakashi vs Obito but I guess there wasn’t really a battle for them to flashback to, especially since we already saw them fight as their younger selves in ROTS.
@@Asvpphenny They could but what duel from their younger days would make sense for them to flashback to? Even if you put their episode 5 fight, that fight already fits with their duel in ROTS. ROTS is a fight we already saw.
so, this was basically the result of a Lucasfilm employee who took it upon himself to improve an existing product of his company? i guess this edit falls under the same umbrella that the Star Wars OT special editions do.
I really really hope some of the reshoots or vfx changes include reverting the purge troopers back to their fallen order design. This edit certainly will not disappoint either way, but that was something that I really wanted to see when I first saw the show
I guess everyone has their ideas of how things should have gone. To think of how awesome ROTJ could have been if I had the movie making know-how to have done it my way.
THIS is the level of *quality* a Kenobi series deserves. Head-scratching why it took a fan (albeit a very capable and industry working fan) to deliver what is very clearly a necessary and achievable treatment of the property. All the more reason to believe that outside Season 1 and Mandalorian, and Andor, both of which show true authorship, live-action Star Wars seems like Disney Parks canned footage reels for the inevitable Nevarro Galaxy's Edge expansion.

the lightning flash showing Anakin then shifting back to Vader was amazing and should have been in the actual show. and because it hasn't been said enough f$ck that camera man who shot the Vader Obi-Wan final fight.
The shaky cam was so horrible in the final fight. It was disgustingly awful. It was not just a few times (in which it could’ve made sense) but it was used EVERY SINGLE SECOND OF THE FIGHT!!
I know right. I didn’t even know they made an UNsteadycam
Blame the director and lead cinematographer, more than likely the person holding the cam was just doing what they were told.
Right this was so cool to see !! Even if it were just one transition from Vader to Anakin and back to Vader would’ve been so cool! Also Flashbacks would’ve been great
@@JÆK.02
Camera man: Sir, the next scene with them fighting will occur... How shall I shoot this?
The Director: Shake and move the camera all over the place, then shove the camera up Obi-Wan's arsehole.
The Camera man: ex-excuse me sir?
Lead cinematographer: DEW IT!
Andor looked and felt incredible, so you can definitely see the attention to detail placed on that show in this.
It'll fly if it's worthy... and it looks like it is. PJ95 is one of those guys people should listen to more because he's doing some interesting things to add dimensions to the story telling
Those added anakin shots and the actually made me laugh out loud. Star Wars was never subtle but holy shit
@@sansalvatore6869 Calm sown. It's just one shot change.
This looks incredible, I so want to watch this when it’s done.
Andor is soo underrated, by far the best live action series imo. Its so grounded and super stoked for the second season coming soon.
I don’t know if to be sad, happy.. or disappointed.. I am everything at the same time now… but mostly I am amazed by the work of the Andor actor and I wish I knew what BS or corruption goes on behind the show so that Obi became what it became
Wow! Amazing work 👏 I can't wait to see it when it's done.!
I haven't been this excited for Kenobi ever, even before the release of the show. This actually looks like it has heart, unlike the soulless corporate show we were delivered.
Omg the Fortress shot on Nur where you can see Mustafar. I didn't know it was missing 'something' until I saw that edit. That's awesome.
Nice to finally see a Charlie video on here.
This is why we need to remove Copyright.
If anyone has the skill or time to make a Star Wars, they should make a damn star wars
The copyright for A New Hope expires on 01/01/72. Without copyright there'd be no professional film making.
Copyright has it's place, but it shouldn't be nearly as long as it is. Maybe, 20 or 30 years. Not nearly a century.
Thank you for putting attention to this guy. PixelJoker95 deserves all the attention and love for his project.
Dude I can't wait for this. It's gonna be SO much better than the show.
Definitely worth checking out
Having Reva won't ruin the edit. However, if he can make her survival of Order 66/Vader more believable I know they can do it
I love this channel not just for the lore but the fact he was the one to introduce me to resonance
This and the Vader series from SW Theory are making me more eager for Star Wars than I've been in a long time.
I'm not super convinced about the thin saber, but that anakin shot gave me goosebumps
It’s almost like Kenobi was originally intended to be a movie that got bogged down with tons of superfluous narrative weight when it was retrofitted into a miniseries because of the pandemic and Rise of Skywalker’s underperformance.
It isn’t almost it was suppose to be a trilogy well it was written as one with more obi wan anakin clone wars pre ep 3 flash backs with long hair anakin
Part of that is wrong. It was turned into a tv show because of the Han Solo movie bombing. It has nothing to do with rise of skywalker.
This is seriously impressive. I hope we get to see more work from this man
Once again fan works have done more than a multi billion dollar corporation.
Wonder how long before a C&D hits...
Hopefully they completely dismiss it and tells Disney to go and feck themselves and ignores them afterward. Fans can save Star Wars, and want to. Disney can, but never will, they hate it, and us.
Disney needs to be dismantled in my opinion.
@@General_ONeill no, they didn't. They made a poor spinoff with writing so bad a mentally handicapped tapeworm could have come up with something better in a few minutes.
The multibillion dollar corporation didn't even manage to follow up what was already there competently.
3:57 This brings back memories of playing Conquest in 2005’s Battlefront 2. We didn’t know how good we had it back then... 😪
Revenge Of The Sith is still the best and my personal favorite SW movie.
As horrible social media can be, one of the bright sides of it, is that it can be used to implement great improvement and change. The past several months, I've witnessed some AMAZING fan made content from a variety of different IP's and it's my hope that these creative and passionate innovators get a larger platform and start working with major production companies to implement this vision.
Incredible work! Personally, I’m not a fan of the thin saber style, it looks way too brittle/pencil like, I prefer the Clone Wars/Prequel era sabers🔥 I know lightsabers can penetrate nearly any material, but the increased thickness just sits better with me logically, if that makes sense. Super cool with what fans from the community are coming out with edit wise!!
logic and canon arent the same. by logic, even this modified version would be too thick... so I think, the classic canon-style is much better. this thin version is ridiculous. :D
it's been 10 months since the last update, hope this is still happening
Reva is integral to Kenobi (and a great character!) so I am immediately suspicious of any edit that removes or minimizes her role. This fan edit looks great, and I hope they don’t cut her out.
I didn't know about this until now and boy am I hyped this looks amazing cant wait for the full release
I could see this edit being copy right claimed by Disney and brought into a court room because Disney was embarrassed by a fan while they are a multi billion dollar company.
I absolutely loved Kenobi as it is. He’s my favourite character in Star Wars and I’m so grateful they did this series. It doesn’t need to be remade or redone but for a project it must be a fun thing to do, so good luck to you
Really? Kenobi was really out of character in the series.
@@rodrigor.2847 You mean the PTSD thing? That’s something people wanted to see Kenobi struggling with even before the show came out. If there was ever a time where he was at his weakest point, it’s between ROTS and ANH.
@@Deathpool_04 no, the problem is that kenobi abandoned his mission in this series and fucking lied to yoda, he promissed he would do anything to assure that luke would became a jedi, but he spend 10 years with no training in the force. Obiwan would never to that, he its the type of character that never breaks his promisses, he would rather die than fail a mission, he is not anakin that abandoned his morals for selfish reasons, he represents the opposite of anakin.
@@rodrigor.2847 Technically, they were meant to protect both the children but Bail fucked up protecting Leia. I don’t see Kenobi letting Leia possibly die either. I do think they should’ve at least had someone else keep on eye on Luke while Kenobi was away.
Luke isn’t trained to become a Jedi until ANH and Kenobi struggling to even train him after “failing” with Anakin, makes sense. There’s still a lot of time for Kenobi to reconnect with the force before ANH.
@@Deathpool_04 no man, obiwan wasnt struggling, he fucking abandoned the training. You didn’t understand my comment. He fucking lied to yoda and abandoned his mission. Sorry but if you think this is in character you donot understand what type ofcharacter obi wan its supossed to be.
@Deathpool_04 they could always shoot new scenes whether it was training or reference Mustafar
@@Asvpphenny They could but what duel from their younger days would make sense for them to flashback to? Even if you put their episode 5 fight, that fight already fits with their duel in ROTS. ROTS is a fight we already saw.
Thank you for sharing this! I had never heard of it and I'll be following the updates zealously from now on
so, this was basically the result of a Lucasfilm employee who took it upon himself to improve an existing product of his company? i guess this edit falls under the same umbrella that the Star Wars OT special editions do.
I really really hope some of the reshoots or vfx changes include reverting the purge troopers back to their fallen order design. This edit certainly will not disappoint either way, but that was something that I really wanted to see when I first saw the show
The fact that star wars has degenerated to the point where fans have now taken it upon themselves to fix it is sad but I'll take it
Hopefully this video helps get some extra eyes on it! I hadn't heard of it previously, but I'm definitely excited now!
Once again, FANS are absolutely ANNIHILATING anything Disney can come up with.
And you have done absolutely nothing to contribute. 😀
@@trashaimgamer7822 Shit take.
This guys an actual animator for Disney Star Wars. He worked on an episode of Andor
I guess everyone has their ideas of how things should have gone. To think of how awesome ROTJ could have been if I had the movie making know-how to have done it my way.
where will we be able to see this when it's released? i'm assuming they can't release it on youtube because of copyright issues
I think the red dots on the map are the locations of active probe droids.
No views and no comments huh guess I'm early
I love the resonance track in your vids man! Adds an even more compelling feel you know
Really goes to show how bad of a state Disney Star Wars is in when fans do a better job
Hope he continues the dialogue to make sense. Also the greatest Pilot one
Wow! Loving it already! Thank you so much pointing us in this direction.

This is the way
THIS is the level of *quality* a Kenobi series deserves. Head-scratching why it took a fan (albeit a very capable and industry working fan) to deliver what is very clearly a necessary and achievable treatment of the property. All the more reason to believe that outside Season 1 and Mandalorian, and Andor, both of which show true authorship, live-action Star Wars seems like Disney Parks canned footage reels for the inevitable Nevarro Galaxy's Edge expansion.
why waste our time with a video on something that is totally unfinished?
So glad you shared this, I immediately subbed to his channel
Amazing work being put into this, really hope it makes the series watchable as a movie. I couldn't stomach more than 3 episodes, having just completed Andor, which was incredible. I did watch Auralnauts take on Kenobi, called Larry, which is brilliant and hilarious :)
Thx, I hadn't heard of this project- looks good
I've been keeping track of it for the last 5 months. I'm so excited for its eventual release. 😁
I clicked like just for the doggo outro. Great outro, made the whole video 10 times better.
Also great video overall.
Can't wait to see it all.
