    Huh, I was just thinking about this... I read his ex-wife's diary and letters (that he published) a while ago and it was heartbreaking... One thing that I won't ever forget is her writing to him, "Don't forget I have a rich inner world, try to imagine what it's like (inside of it)" or something similar... It's so sad, he could never understand that women have an inner world, he viewed them as objects.

      Not just women: people in general are just commodities for a narcissist.

    • @DonnaBrooks
      @DonnaBrooks 3 роки тому +41

      @@joankennes3230 Yeah, but there is a difference. I doubt there are many male narcissists who forcibly kiss other men. I know there are men who have had experiences w/ other men who violated their personal boundaries with everything from sexual harassment to rape. I just don't know if men experience the feeling that another man thinks he's ENTITLED to their bodies the way women are too often treated by men who think they are entitled to women's bodies.

    • @joankennes3230
      @joankennes3230 3 роки тому +8

      Well, there is a specific dynamic in a male-female interaction that can have that vibe in a particular way, that, I believe, does not exist in the same way in most male-male interaction. Though I can never know for sure, not being a man. And, even though I consider myself to be an empath, even talking about it with men at length, I still would not fully grasp how it feels like for them. As I, to be honest, can never totally appreciate what another woman feels... even though that feels more accessible to me.
      Men in general do not realise, for instance, of how aware women are, by nature, of danger, because we are mostly estrogen based creatures and they are not. Testosteron does things to how you perceive things and how you react to them, as does estrogen, that are totally different. I would like to refer to The Male Brain and The Female Brain by Dr. Louann Brizendine and to Alison Armstrong.
      And everybody has a different balance of these hormones, so it's not even a gender based thing and very individual.
      But does it really matter? I believe men can endure such entitlement in a different, but no less hurtful and harmful way, just because they are men!
      Pain can never be a contest, it is an individual experience. Your pain can never be smaller or less significant than mine, even if your experience might seem so to me: your pain is yours and should be acknowledged as is. Any man's pain deserves the same acknowledgement.

      @@DonnaBrooks I new one at a job that believed that one guy was gay (all software engineers ) and he harassed him relentlessly just for the shake of it. In one occasion he pinned him in the elevator and push his body on him (I was not present but after the fact the narcissist was telling everybody and the victim did not negate the events). I told the victim to go to RH but he refused, citing a bunch of macho reasons. Kissing and sex are not the only issues, getting beating by a narcissist with a sensitive ego can be equally destructive or worse.

      I think feminism means something different in USA than Europe, as in Europe it only means fighting abuse and subjugation of women. Such as women didn't have as many rights and were less represented in their own country. It wasn't until recently women had the right to not be raped by her husband. In USA it seems to be an insult by men who hate women, who spend their time searching out examples of idiots who talk nonsense to say all women who fight against abuse are like that. Funny how they spend to much time online whinging against women, filling comment sections no matter what the subject as an excuse to whine on against feminists and saying what women should want, but no woman finds an abusive misogynist who feels threatened by women who have rights against them to be a turn on.
      I also think men and women dislike each other more in the USA than Europe as USA women tell men they're disgusting if not cir'cised and some men who had that done develop issues, such as less sensitivity, which they try to take out on women.

I have reacted very strongly to these comments. These people are dangerous when crossed and will figure out a way to hurt you from the grave if they are able to. They will walk over every boundary you set and grin while they do it. It took me awhile to understand that they do not think like normal people. So you have to understand their mindset and then get the hell out if you can. Great job Dr. Grande.

    So important when looking at the narcissist, how they are treated by their parents. The main rejection is that of his mother, what we call today, child abuse. He seeks a mother's love in every woman and in his mind rejection by a woman is love. People who are hit by their parents or guardians will often find relationships with violent people and people who who have been mentally abused will often find partners who mentally abuse them. Stands to reason that those who have been rejected will find ways to continue the rejection. The only people who will get into a relationship with a narcissist are very kind and loving people, horrid people will not tolerate a narcissist.

      “Men are pigs”. I’ve heard that from feminist women a thousand times. Some men are pigs and they generalize that to all men.
      A man treated badly by women just might think that all women are bad. It’s how people analyze the world.

      To me people are people just trying to make sense of this world. If you think badly of things/people then eventually those things/people will become ‘bad’ to you. You develop a bias and if you don’t actually learn accountability for your own part in the world, control your own actions and thoughts, you’ll start to project, or emulate what you don’t like, be it anger, envy, intolerance, violence and never really understand that you could control it all by controlling(monitoring) your own reactions and actions to events and people in your life.
