    Great job gents. I thought the 240v for the hot box is for the fan and the diesel igniter as the pressure washer provides all the pumping needed. It would be great to see a comparison of cleaning without vs with steam. The roof came up great - nice colours.

    Hey Ash. Thank you for your videos they are a great help. Please can you confirm if you would pressure wash any tiles on low pressure as long as the roof tiles are not fragile? does it matter if the tiles are concrete instead of clay for example?

      I’m not that fussed about the steam at all to be honest. I would much rather use cold water at a slightly reduced pressure.👍🏼

    to be able to use the bell/spiner with steam, could you tell me what pressure do you use? I guess need more than 30 to be able to spin?
    is it real steam or hot water ?

      I’m not sure. It seems like a lot of extra hassle for not a lot of extra benefit.🤷🏻‍♂️

      I think that hot water makes sense when using lower pressure (delicate surface).
      Then results would be not achievable with cold water and low pressure or cold water and high pressure might damage the delicate surface.
      But for normal strong surface it makes less sense to use hot water because you can use really high pressure with cold water without damaging anything.
      I guess it has less real benefits than using hot WFP.

      Be handy if it was all mounted in a van but a really big van would be needed to have everything you do inside it.

    Ash are you replacing cracked tiles and repointing ridge tiles for customers on these jobs?

    All looks fantastic, think you're getting a pressure washer the same has your which version of the honda are you using and is it 15 LPM ????

      @@aemackintosh thank you, gx honda 21 LPM ? 200 bar version... They do a 15 LPM at 250 bar version at the same price, do you think they is any different, just trying to make the right decision....

      Very different. You should concentrate on the lpm, that’s what really counts.👍🏼

      @@aemackintosh I see I would be better then with 200 bar at 21 LPM then , and you find you have plenty of pressure with your 21 inch surface cleaner.. hard to work at these things sometimes,, been watching your videos and picking up ideas....

    Quick question if ANYBODY is able to answer 🙏
    I've just come off a 3 day roof clean with a surface cleaner off a ladder. I'm pretty demoralised as my back is shot to hell..
    The safety aspect aside, can anybody please tell me if using a scaff-tower makes it easier on the body?

      Yes! Definitely! Being on a tower allows you to move your body around into more comfortable positions. It will still be quite physical and hard graft though. That’s partly why you should not under charge a roof clean job.😉👍🏼

    So if the water comes to the tool direct from the hot box with this setup what is the purpose of the pressure washer

      You need the pressure washer to push the water through the hot box.

      Depends what you mean by better. It is possible to steam off more of the black spots and lichen, but it will take longer.

    Thought roofs wernt meant to be pressure washed only soft washed with biocides to avoid damaging the protective coating on the tiles

      @@aemackintosh Im a roofer and its not really best practice though is it ...far better to scrape manually then treat with biocide .....think in the long run your customers would thank you for doing it that way rather than blast it off

      We are very careful about the amount of pressure we use and adjust it down. If the roof or tiles are more delicate we will take the scraping option. We recommend a regular treatment of biocide every 4/5 years for ongoing maintenance.👍🏼

      Ah come on. Wind and rain has more pressure than steam. I've a absolute beast sized one wich does wow 130ps at the tip of concentrated jet. Power washer is 2000 psi.. Big difference

      We always treat it with biocide after cleaning, so it should last a few years. I always recommend a regular treatment of biocide every 3/4years or so for good maintenance.👍🏼

    Personally speaking (and i could be wrong) but i don't honestly think you needed hot water.
    I rarely use heat on anything other than oil and grease

      A build up of moss holds moisture and can cause damage to the roof, and blockages in the gutters. So cleaning can lengthen the life of the roof. Moss can also be a nuisance if it is falling to the ground and causing a mess on the patio or driveway below. And yes, it certainly looks a lot better when it’s clean.🤩👍🏼
