I encourage idols to eat food they love, it’s sad that they don’t get to make themselves happy but too much is also not good! Unless their fav are healthy foods lol, otherwise too much junk food is bad
i think they are allowed to eat whatever they want, but should be wary of the amount they consume, in a healthy way, if you get where i’m coming from! but of course we have no say in what they do, since it’s THEIR body not ours!
It's not just the double standards which are the problem, it's also the hypocrisy that runs out of control at times. Expecting standards from others which are impossible and most people themselves couldn't maintain. Idols are humans just like all of us.
They want a robot that is programmed to do whatever they want and then a clone of that robot that does the opposite so both standards are happy. Also "called out for being ugly" should be "called out because they are considered ugly ", not because they actually are. This channel is sometimes just as bad as the people that hold those stupid standards and then change their minds because they don't see the idols as human. Root for your idol, don't bash others because you don't like them.
I bet the ones constantly criticizing idols or any person for that matter on their appearance/looks look like swampmonkeys and gremlins themselves. Everyone is so bold behind a keyboard until they get exposed. Projection is a horrible trait to have.

When it comes to weight, I see mostly korean fans complaining about that and imo it's more complex than that. One of my korean friend is super skinny but told me shocking stories of her friends ""jockingly"" calling her ugly because she looked more tanned and took the tinnier amount of weight. So I don't think the general korean public don't follow these standards, I think they painfully try to fit them and get pissed off when someone doesn't seem to put on the same effort as them (completely disregarding the idol's potential struggles and circumstances). Even if not all korean people are like that (obviously) the majority has set a mood of "I'm suffering so you should too" when it comes to appearance
Another double standard that annoys me is the "pick me girl". Not once has a male idol been called a pick me or criticized for "trying too hard" etc. But female idol's always get called that for no reason.
shuhua literally just stood out for herself and she wasn't even rude in that one vlive specifically she just talked a lil too loud and pointed out how a person would feel if someone called them ugly and people just cut out parts to make her sound rude + about her lacking skills and being a black hole well that may have been the case before but look at her now she literally improved a lot and she finally got the chance to showcase her talent
I agree, she was standing up for Soojin in the one vlive and also when they went into shuhuas vlive to do the same, and she wasn't even rude she was just spitting out facts. And shuhua is improving more and more overtime, I think tomboy Era was amazing because of her
@@ishie19.78 Its mostly K-netizens that criticize her for her looks; Which most of them will probably look like swamp creatures behind the scenes lol. In the west, people won't mostly care about her looks.
but it's sad that it took her losing weight, who knows what else she's put herself through in order to finally be appreciated, that's definitely gonna have some lasting effects.

And when a girl acts cute Its pick me....cringe And when a boy does its really cute lemme add one more thing In yuna case, when she was looking at a male idol, people start calling her pick me but when jungkook stares at every female idol in award show, fans just ship them and call him that cring "international playboy" (you all can hate me for this, but it's true) yeri got hated by armies just cause she was looking at him.... In lisa case, jungkook stared at her and they all started shipping them, and some started hating Lisa in IU case, she got hate for being an ideal type of jk... What about this double standard? Fans criticizing an entertainment company for not protecting/defending their idol enough from bullying allegations, but when they actually do (for example: HYBE & Kim Garam), fans want the company to kick her out.
they just hate girls. when that actor got same accusations, his fans are on his side esp when the mngmt released their statement denying the issue is huge difference. people be like no to bullying but what they did to garam these past few months?? hypocrites.
Listen, I’m 163cm and weight 43 kg and I can tell you that I never wore a skirt, short, dress because I look like a walking stick. So if it’s the beauty standard for an idol they’ll can only wear pant or in stage they’ll look like their body is about to break 😭
I think that people that get mad over plastic surgery need to realize that, at least in Korea, plastic surgery doesn’t have the same stigma. I always see people trying to deny plastic surgery, as if it was the worst thing. Regardless of someone’s own personal opinion of plastic surgery, they need to understand that looks are very important in Korea, and many, outside of the K-pop community, will get plastic surgery or cosmetic procedure.
@Lu Zu i never say there wasn’t, but Korea as a country has less stigma than other countries. Even middle school kids get little things like eyelid surgery.
Notice how 3 out of 4 of girls mentioned/criticized from 1:16 to 1:38 are teenaged girls. (Kepler's Chaehyun just turned 20, so she barely just exited her teen years). Teen girls are known to have fluctuating weights, regardless of diets, exercise, or whatever else yall think are easy "fixes" for these girls' natural bodies. Also, they are literally still children. Liz and Jiwoo are seventeen ffs! Get a life, haters.
Dude I swear I don't get why, even though it's pretty normal to get plastic surgery (that even parents gift their daughters or son's after they graduate) it's so hard to acknowledge that many idols have done that to fit the standard. It really bothers me that it's seem as something bad when it's so common xp
I think RBW is one of the best companies out there bc they give their artists plenty of time to rest while also not forcing them to go on heavy diets. The girl at 1:29 is Purple Kiss' Swan, an idol under RBW. She kept her 'unique' image since debut to today (btw PK made a cb with Nerdy so I suggest you listen to it!) and I honestly like RBW for not making her go on a diet. Everyone should be considered beautiful just they way they are, cancel culture for 'fat' idols went too far in 4th gen
@@Lemon-000 after they debuted the company told them they can eat what they want just to be healthy and no they diet when they want the company never forced them not one time they always wanted their weights to be healthy not to skinny and the thing with moon is that she wanted to lose the weight herself and after that her body remained the same she doesn’t even diet 😭 and you can watch a interview where she talked about it rbw is the best company when it comes to caring for their artist(mamamoo) bc I don’t watch the other artist on the label 😬

Finally a channel reporting real K-pop worthy news I want to hear .so many channels out there with speculation and coming across as bullying, trolling idols and comparing them and critiquing/criticism on their outfits to their vocals to their dancing abilities their so called opinions which is just bullying online but this definitely showcases the reality for idols honestly i feel for so many of them and tbh it’s the delusional fans the obsessed ones who think I can say whatever without any consequences bashing idols online it’s brutal /nasty Chaeryong is so beautiful she really has glowed up so f them swear idols cannot catch a damn break and those who call idols ugly and fat and saying they can’t have plastic surgery making demands you do not own idols get over yourself and get help you all need therapy your projecting your own insecurities on others look in a mirror and reflect and seek professional help you all really need it bad . I hate the word toxic but theirs a lot of toxic netizens they really go in with the harassments /bullying online such hypocrites. They need to reflect and get off the internet for awhile it’s fried their brain cells their straight up narcissists. Idols should be able to have a long break they should be able to enjoy being an idol too not just as a job it’s these so called delusional fans making it hard for the idols that management step in and instead of helping the idols they take the advice of these delusional fans it’s honestly frustrating and makes me upset for those of us who are healthy K-pop fans and want the best for our idols then you have these lowkey haters /sasengs/trolls making the rest of us K-pop idol fans look bad also making our idols look bad .all of these are ridiculous and outdated it’s 2022 these so called standards need to be thrown out .also management need to take better care of their idols well-being and mental health . They do a horrible job too .idols are humans too guys don’t ever forget that !” Their not your puppet show. They deserve a break too .
Another one, idols must have stage presence - but not too much. Irene, Winter and Lee Know are hated on for being stone faced while San, Kai and Tsuki are hated for doing "too much!"
I hate that Idols having to starve them selves and some people don’t care about their idols Health. Chaeryeong is absolutely gorgeous. All idols are gorgeous.
How about by gender. Many Netizen complain female idols by doing something and then keep supporting male idol by doing the same thing as the female idols! Seriously, what wrong with this generation now?!
Something that comes to mind when I think of double standards is that people are "OK" with Idols dating but what that same idol out of the group when they do actually date or get married. An example of this is Chen from EXO and maybe Bobby from Ikon.
lia doing a very casual dance( when they were doing some activity it wasn't even a dance performance) netizen:laZyyy suga:during stage performance in concert not doing steps netizens:so cute, haha he is funny me :)🖕
@@Taewiththelace no recently the Seoul concert, don't get offended i am an army too i am not hating on suga i am hating on such people who won't mind male idols (especially female fans )they are okay if male idols show no interest its okay he must be tired not in a mood to dance that was funny to but when lia did that everyone called her lazy dancer like wtf these double standards be really making me mad
@@Taewiththelace double standards still happen. Maybe this isn’t the best example but ggs are always under a microscope and judged by their every move; bgs too, but to a much lesser extent. Just see Wonyoung, Jennie or the entirety of Aespa and then think of instances where male idols got treated like the women got treated.
I used to 49 kilos, my height is 170cm, and I was almost involuntary hospitalized. I was around that weight for 1 year, and I still have issues from my weight loss. I would pass out from low blood sugar and my hair started falling out. I couldn’t exercise without getting extremely dizzy, so I would never be able to have a kpop idol diet. So the fact that idols have to be so skinny and they cant gain any weight, just have to stay slim for their whole careers and even after they retire, is ridiculous
Netizens demand that idols be skinny and enter harsh diets if they don't mee the criteria. I would LOVE to see those people try the diets and go on the schedules that these idols have to endure. It's so easy to run your mouth, but can you actually walk the walk??
Another double standard is when male idols take off or rip their shirts, they get praised and trend for their hOt body. But when females show skin on their own accord, they are bashed for revealing too much skin 😂😂😂 Typical case is the blackpink 2022 concert when jennie took off her jacket and when her outfits were all revealing. THE MOST IMPT POINT IS THAT JENNIE WAS COMFORTABLE AND CONFIDENT YET MANY STILL BASHED HER FOR IT???? If it was aNy other male idol who took their shirt off, would he have been criticised?!(!?!!?!?! No hate intended to male idols, just to those double standards netizens 🙄
For the first one, its companies' fault they should provide their artists with a gym coach and nutritionist. Its quite easy to say "you have to lose this amount of weight in this amount of time " and just leave the room. It's hard for everyone to loose or even maintain the weight. Yes they're idol and its their job to look a certain weight but it doesn't make it easier. And yes it goes without saying that if you don't eat properly you will gain weight but some of them are still going through puberty or probably have treatment, or just a different metabolism. Thats why they NEED professional to back them up so they can have a balanced life and be able to enjoy their meals while maintaining their weight as much as possible.
This proves that ppl are never satisfy even though how much u try to impress or change yourself so moral of the story is to not care abt others they know only how to hate not love so better to ignore those ppl i wonder how these idols are handling so much hate and pressure sending my hugs to idol i really hope they could leave a better life without anyone butting in their life.
1:53 now now, don't shame people that can't gain weight and 'fit into the standards' just because the 'standards' are toxic, it's not their fault. I fit the standard but I can do exercises just fine, and I most definitely do not look like a walking paper.
I think that when a kpop idol even have a eye contact with another idol, some people say they are dating and what not but when a kpop idol is not interacting with each other then they say "I miss the old interactions" and stuff It's ridiculous
One thing I see a lot is that when starship scheduled woungyoung lots of events, they say that she's working too much, they company wont let her rest. But now, when her schedule is not that full, they complain that the company is deliberating kept her from appearing in order to promote other members
So according to kpop standards I should weight 34 kg? Hell no, I'd be in hospital if I'd be that. For someone who has also suffered from eating disorder, it makes me sick people body shaming idols with normal weight and sometimes even skinny ones. Not that you should shame anyone of course!!! :
@@SleepyRue Yeah, and even if they did, they usually deny it with saying things like "don't worry, I'm eating enough" or "I'm naturally really skinny", even though most times it is not true at all. Also some fans fall for it -.-
I hate it when anti-fans want idols to “standup for themselves” when they are mistreated but then bash idols when they do “standup for themselves”. Saying they are being disrespectful and have an attitude problem.
Some of the reasons I couldn't even imagine me being an idol, Because I'm so rebellious, that I literally don't listen to anyone but myself, yeah I respect other people's advice and opinion, but I would totally have gotten kicked out at the very beginning..
The thing with blackpink is a little different. Although idols health do come first and i was happy for them to take a break but it was too long. 2 years is way too long for a kpop group. They have so much hype because they are blackpink if any other group would have gone on such a hiatus people would have assumed that they disbanded and forgotten about them. Also, from day 1 of Blackpinks debut they have been poorly managed and not promoted that much. I do agree that idols should get rest but not for this long. Like we have bts they take enough time for break and also manage to release song's that's how a group should promote and as far for twice they are overworked like it or not but they are. They have to release korean comeback and then the Japanese comeback also let's not forget the Japanese version of every Korea song with that they always promote unstoppably also tour's and stuff. I am not hating on any group, I am just angry with how there companies manage them. [ NOTE: since blackpink is finally making a comes make sure to support them! ]
i dont understand what people want anymore...like kpop is not their life and the idols are not their dolls, people expect that idols do what they tell them to do "loose some weight" "why did you loose your weight you look so unhealthy" they dont know what they want thus causing other idols to feel bed because of them, and chaeyeong ugly like...it's they're fault that that are blind chaeyeong is the most pretty human i have ever seen seriously, to all toxic fans, please stop, it is not only hurting the idols but also ruining the company's image.
I remember when bts announced that they will take a break and people were so sad about it. Bts has been one of the most active groups and when they really need to take a break, people gets so sad and some even criticized them. It’s so weird cause instead of people being happy that they finally got a break, many were sad that they will be taking a break. Do they want them to die? It’s not like bts will disband, they are just taking a break and they absolutely deserve it! The whole situation was so weird to me because why wouldn’t you want your idols to take breaks? It’s not like your whole world will collapse just because they’re not active at the moment. The idols are humans like us too, I’m sure we would all want to have a break and have fun without crazy fans knowing wherever we went too. Some of “army’s” are so delusional…
I agree with you the same situation is with blackpink they did a break for two years to have a good melatal health and tha fans are so toxic they have to get a life
I don't blame the companies for doing such things to idols since they're doing what the neitzen wants if pple we'rent obsessed with stupid beauty standards
One thing I’ve learned here is that if we dress or change ourselves for the purpose of pleasing others..no matter how much we’ve changed..it will still never satisfy them…do things cuz you wanted to…but it’s the real world and that’s not the case…sucks though 😢
There will never be a way for idols to satisfy all of the haters. I just hope people can have more respect to idols as normal human being and stop criticizing them for every single thing. This video just proves the toxic mentality of those haters.
I do relate that some of the standars being doubled is a high regard, but I also strongly believe that doubling the standars shouldn't be the punishment for everyone. If you don't teach an idol how to overcome something and grow from it, I highly recommend that having the standards being more and more higher in rank for controversy reasons, is not a good result. It's just arousing stakes. I would just talk to them one on one, bring them to your own private room in your office/company station and let them tell the story, other than having it to be your side of the story all the time, and then you can finally decide if the idol/s are guilty or innocent.
That's soooo true so freaking true 💯 If you take the way kpop male idols act on stage sometimes and how fan would applaud them to anything but God forbid one girl group member like Itzy yuna does one other girl group dance cover and every kpop stans would start attacking her and calling her a "pick me" girl
I don't think idols get to choose their own hair colours or whether to dye them or not. Keeho from p1h mentioned that choosing his hair colour isn't up to him. Maybe it's just fnc or a few companies
I experience the eating double standard a lot in my life as my friends and family constantly say I am too skinny. However, when I feed myself properly they say I should not eat as much because I will get fat. I want to have an ideal body but I also want to be healthy. What should I do?
be healthy and ignore their shitass comments. when you eat healthy you grow well but if you stay very very very skinnier than your healthy weight and not your normal weight you can get sick very easy and i’m not sure if it applies to other people but it’s one of the reasons i was really fragile when i was younger. so in resume if people have the intelligence of a piece of broccoli you do not have to accept their criticism. especially when it comes to your body
what's saddening are fans leaving idols who are constantly criticized saying they have a hard time defending them or some other similar excuses. you don't need validation from other people for liking them.
Yeah but i see the other side of weight too. When I was wrestling I was constantly weighing myself and dieting hard. No one questioned it, it's what we had to do.
@@misskay6831 because kpop idols don't keep themselves healthy, they starve. In more than an occasion a kpop idol has admitted to have only eaten ice cubes for days before a concert or a mv shooting
I'm assuming it's more because dieting culture within kpop is less about being healthy and fit but more about being a skinny as you can no matter what for the sake of aesthetics.
@@ccsbm208 I agree with that when talking about the anorexic look but you don't see that much anymore. They're looking pretty healthy and the companies have figured out its not a good thing to have idols pass out from starving themselves on stage.
Tbh I struggle with ED and when I have 43kg (163cm is my height) i was so tired and can't do many things, yes maybe for someone it's ideal and can do many things but when you have this because of diet, you will be have problem
There are toxic fans who would volunteer their “expert” opinion that someone got plastic surgery. They don’t even provide evidence to support their “opinion “, cause “it’s obvious”. 😱😱😱
To those ppl who said chaeryong is ugly make sure you guys look prettier than her if I see your faces🙄😪....srsly she's pretty and cute....Honestly "Korea's beauty standard" thing really makes me upset for some reasons cos its sometimes pressure idols to do plastic surgeries and risky diets just to meet that damn beauty standard when in fact their natural appearances is way way more beautiful and gorgeous than a plastic face😑 I hope this stereotype will stop cos honestly it's not safe and not healthy specially this gen. 4 of kpop which the idols were all so young and it's so concerning
im 14 and if i follow the height minor 120 im supposed to be 35 kilograms and my weight is probably 50+. thats scary i hope trainees and idols at my age isnt following it.
I am 162 cm tall, 40kg. And yes, people call me thin all the time (and I actually am nothing but skin and bones). These idols are forced to be thin while having good stamina to dance while singing perfectly. But to have good stamina, you have to have enough food. It cannot go both ways 🙃 I actually have very weak stamina, so kudos to these idols for pulling off performances with great stability
Chaereyong WAS beautiful and IS beautiful the people who called her "ugly" are so done with theirselves that putting gorgeous people down makes them feel good
From the haircolor, Here's some reason why they don't want to change it, it's either they have a super sensitive scalp, they have light visual weight and light colored hair won't suit their face, or they just don't want it. If you still don't get it, go and study about makeup, style and health care about scalp/hair.
I feel really sad for idols when they get called 'ugly' or get body shamed, like, imagine millions of people went online and said that to you? It's hard enough being an idol with all that intense dance practices and singing, and then they get body shamed? We need to take care of our idols, not be mean to them. Be nice ppl😁
Agreed with all of these!! I'd like to add that there are sadly extreme differences made between male and female idols. What's nice and positive for the one is bad and negative for the other. It's extremely hypocritical and really has to stop. E.g. If Stray Kids Felix does a lot of aegyo it's extremely cute and he gets praised but if a female idol shows a lot of aegyo she often gets called a pick-me girl, trying too hard, superficial... (I just used Felix as an example, no hate towards him). These double standards exist soooo much and really have to stop! Another extreme example is when a idol gets a lot of hate and ofc the fans care but nobody else and then they have mental issues and take a break or something and then somehow they are "fetishized" for having a bad mental condition. Suddenly they are extremely loved and get support from everyone, but before that nobody cared. It is extremely important that the kpop community as one decides that hate does not have a place in their community and that they'll therefore act against it. The kpop community is only this shitty because we allow the hatred, the toxicity. We must stand up against haters and toxic fans and show them that there is no room for them here!!!
idols need to dye their hair all the time because the white-jade procedure that they do to whiten their skin causes brown hair to become red in many of them as a side effect.
So does it mean we should not encourage idols to eat too much of the food they love? Anyway I gotta have some jajangmyeon now.

It seems that people complain about the exact problems that they have caused.
The only thing I'm mad about RBW is they don't know how to promote there groups
@@Lemon-000 after they debuted the company told them they can eat what they want just to be healthy and no they diet when they want the company never forced them not one time they always wanted their weights to be healthy not to skinny and the thing with moon is that she wanted to lose the weight herself and after that her body remained the same she doesn’t even diet 😭 and you can watch a interview where she talked about it rbw is the best company when it comes to caring for their artist(mamamoo) bc I don’t watch the other artist on the label 😬

New fans: being a kpop idol is amazing
Old fans:being a kpop idol is soo hard. poor idols!
I think 'paradoxical' is a better word to describe these phenomenons, rather than 'double standard'
Another one, idols must have stage presence - but not too much. Irene, Winter and Lee Know are hated on for being stone faced while San, Kai and Tsuki are hated for doing "too much!"
Yes
I hate that Idols having to starve them selves and some people don’t care about their idols Health. Chaeryeong is absolutely gorgeous. All idols are gorgeous.
How about by gender. Many Netizen complain female idols by doing something and then keep supporting male idol by doing the same thing as the female idols! Seriously, what wrong with this generation now?!
Something that comes to mind when I think of double standards is that people are "OK" with Idols dating but what that same idol out of the group when they do actually date or get married. An example of this is Chen from EXO and maybe Bobby from Ikon.

It would be a breathe of fresh air if theres a kpop group that doesnt fit the beauty standards.

the thing is, even “ugly” idols are so much more attractive than the average person. It’s not about being ugly, it’s about being perfect looking

But when females show skin on their own accord, they are bashed for revealing too much skin 😂😂😂
Typical case is the blackpink 2022 concert when jennie took off her jacket and when her outfits were all revealing.
THE MOST IMPT POINT IS THAT JENNIE WAS COMFORTABLE AND CONFIDENT YET MANY STILL BASHED HER FOR IT????
If it was aNy other male idol who took their shirt off, would he have been criticised?!(!?!!?!?!

chaeryeong "is" so PRETTY!!!!
a 20-30+ yr old human to be 43kg?! that's the weight of a 12 or 13 year old!

It really just depends on genetics, obviously not every idol is gonna be the same, these standards just make it worse
I think that when a kpop idol even have a eye contact with another idol, some people say they are dating and what not
but when a kpop idol is not interacting with each other then they say "I miss the old interactions" and stuff
It's ridiculous
One thing I see a lot is that when starship scheduled woungyoung lots of events, they say that she's working too much, they company wont let her rest. But now, when her schedule is not that full, they complain that the company is deliberating kept her from appearing in order to promote other members
Why can’t ppl just accept that not fitting the Korean beauty standards doesn’t mean ugly

One can never please everybody. So what's the point of changing yourself?
One thing I’ve learned here is that if we dress or change ourselves for the purpose of pleasing others..no matter how much we’ve changed..it will still never satisfy them…do things cuz you wanted to…but it’s the real world and that’s not the case…sucks though 😢
People call you ugly stay ugly, because someone out there is jealous of what you have and they don't. Simple as that.
Which is weird because when Yeji do something like that they praise her for it
Double standards blow, man. Great video btw.😌
How can you sing well if you are hungry?
The problem is not the k idols and there management the real problem is The toxic Fans and Haters

From the haircolor, Here's some reason why they don't want to change it, it's either they have a super sensitive scalp, they have light visual weight and light colored hair won't suit their face, or they just don't want it.
Fans are so ridiculous
