Back in '02 we didnt know the GE would be so stupid. i was expecting to just bolt on a turbo and to be a nightmare. but it was just DOA. it really is too bad toyota was and still is so clueless about what the US public wants. Trying to stay JDM as much as possible with my 05 hard to find parts (to a small extent) still looking for the OG TRD YELLOW SWAY BARS FOR MINE (FOUND THE FRONT IN JAPAN, can't find the rear, lol).
Seth seems to know his shit, please do a budget boost video with Seth for us BUSTERS out there to get faster. I'd like to bring that plan to my local mechanic and see what he thinks!

It is clean but heavily loved with some minor tweaks needed to be done that i resolved and now love the car even more! It has 300 miles on original 2JZ-GE but I did all maintenance u can think of on it, so Im like send it! but I want to learn on upgrade 2jz or 1jz gte one day. I came from 2zz-ge back ground but the inline 6 is where power is and maybe I might NA turbo? Basically I would love to know, whats the easiest swap vs whats the cheapest swap? Also can I use any stand alone ecu brand for 2jz ge and my original harness or does it have to proEFI? And lastly, how do I tune a S-AFC Apexi? @@tkflex2332 there is lots of ways to get where you want to be. Na/t would probably be cheapest, and a 1j swap would probably be easiest. But I should note, none of them are actually cheap or easy.. haha you can easily get caught in making this thing a money pit. I would suggest you start with a goal in mind and dont change your goal unless you're ok with spending more time and money. You can pretty much use any standalone, as long as you have a tuner that can tune it. I dont know anything about the Apexi that you asked about, but if it's a piggy back, you're going to struggle to keepc it running right.

Wisconsin! Built a GE with Gte Internals, painted engine bay, r154 trans, wired in a brand new Haltech 750 and then had an oil pump issue after a month and started hearing some knock. Been sitting in my garage since last spring 😭
@@ThreeDPrintDesigns bummer. It sounds like you've already got all the hard and expensive things out of the way! Spend a day pulling it and send it out to the machine shop! Then spend another weekend putting it back together. Realistically, you're like 2 weekends worth of work away!
at 485 hp i was at 19 psi until the clutch starting slipping on the dyno. (gear oil leaking on clutch disk) The leak has been fixed since so im ready for retune
Man I want to use this ar5 but man it’s going to cost more for a 2pc drive shaft to ride of the vibration. No way you can get a cv shaft made that can hold power
I got my stock is300 drive shaft adapted for the driftmotion adapter for 500, no vibration till 105. Another guy was able to adapt a stock solstice cv joint to the 2 piece driveshaft and has no vibration, just need to find a driveshaft shop that will do this modification

So just so i get it tru my head... everything was plug in play?form the ge hardness to the gte exept for the deloom of the plastics and extend the one sensor right?
@@Darkeclipselm yes, as long as both engines are vvt-i, the pro efi set up wasn't cheap either but it saves the headache from having something custom made. Keep in mind all is300 are can bus systems and will use stock ecu to control body function. (Cluster, interior, a/c etc.)
I wondering what is first gear like since this gear box is made for truck and the gear ratio is not meant for turbo motor? All ar5 trans swap i see are either high way pull or second gear pull.. is first gear useless?
Yea first is pretty short. Very easy to spin in first though. Ar5 isn't perfect, but it beats the other options for that price range imo. 3rd gear tops out at roughly 90.

Yes. They use the r154 bell housing.

Not yet. Looks like another custom driveshaft needs to be made. The key is to have a high speed cv joint in it.
