- The year is 2078. The man is rebel Alliance Commander Col. Joseph Hendrickson (Peter Weller), assigned to protect the Sirius 6B outpost from ravage and plunder at the hands of the New Economic Bloc.
His state-of-the-art weaponry are known as Screamers; manmade killing devices programmed to eliminate all enemy life forms. Screamers travel underground; their intent to kill announced by piercing shrieks. They dissect their victims with sushi precision, then eradicate all traces of the carnage. They are lethal. Effective. Tidy.

I always cared less what critics say. Screamers was underrated classic. It looked like mix of Alien, The Thing, Pitch Black and Ghosts of Mars. In other words very nice, suspensful and unpredictable film. Peter Weller, Andrew Lauer, Jennifer Rubin and Roy Dupuis did a great job.
I miss the 90's.

One of the best Sci-Fi movies out there. A real gem. Shot on a tiny budget but the acting and the writing more than make up for it.

Please read the original source, the short story "second variety" from the author Phillip k dick. It's really good.
It really is. Also, I like to quote it and Harlan Ellison's "Soldier" as the building blocks for Cameron's Terminator franchise.
Loved this movie as a teenager. Looking through it again i must say its far from great but still way better than most new sci-fi and way better than msot critcs said.

Thanks for sharing this fantastic trailer and I still consider this to be one of the more interesting science fiction films. The cast is great and thankfully, it was done before all the over the top CGI and lousy acting took over. Always great to see Roy Dupuis, Jennifer Rubin and Peter Weller!!
Yeah, nothing like a sketchy looking stop motion. It's so refreshing to go back and see.

One of my favorite scifi-movies. This trailer spoils so much it actually ruins the movie. It has it's flaws like some of the special effects but its still a decent movie.

just finished watching this film again. it gets better as it goes on. the final battle between the two girls is fucking epic. no bullshit. it is girls kicking ass and ripping guts out. not like today's teen horror shlock crap! the SFX does leave you cringing at the shortcuts they took but when you see the Davids being burned and the girl's last words when she said she learned to love... does bring a tear to the eye. screamers 2 is crap. buy this as a collectors item.

This one was awesome. Sequel was horrible. The chick in this movie was hot. She was in dream warriors nightmare on elm street iii. I think roger daltry from the who played the wounded soldier screamer.

ok so there is a movie i watched as a kid. starts witha pod that ahs alien life in it probably escaping from a planet were war was happening and ths pod falls to earth. this alien life goes to a kid and becomes a suit that the kid gets into r something like that. The vilain is another alien race that looks like a black incectoid creature with spinning scizzor as his weapom in his hands. Anyone has seen it does anyone know the movies name?

This came out in 1995 so in comparison to Terminator 2 which came out in 1991 this is seriously shit, but the movie has good dialog and plot. Then again Terminator 2 was way ahead of its time, only now in 2013 does T2's cgi look slightly dated.
