“An Apocalyptic Science Fiction Epic ..." - Bruce Williamson, Playboy
The year is 2078. The man is rebel Alliance Commander Col. Joseph Hendrickson (Peter Weller), assigned to protect the Sirius 6B outpost from ravage and plunder at the hands of the New Economic Bloc.
His state-of-the-art weaponry are known as Screamers: manmade killing devices programmed to eliminate all enemy life forms. Screamers travel underground, their intent to kill announced by piercing shrieks. They dissect their victims with sushi precision, then eradicate all traces of the carnage. They are lethal. Effective. Tidy.
And somehow, they are mutating - self-replicating into human form - and slaughtering every beating heart on the planet.

I finally found the title of this movie! The Google terms I used were: "evil robot bear coming alive in spaceship". God, I love their algorithm.
I googled "sci fi ice planet killer ground robots" and it gave me a list of forgotten 90s films and i finally found it.
Lol me too, i searched for saw machines and a boy who kept asking to accompaning them and ended up in Yahoo answers
shows how evil google truly is
mine was ice planet killer robots
I searched the actor who played Robocop
I haven't seen this movie since I was a kid, then randomly, a few days ago, I had a dream about one of the scenes. I woke up and immediately set a reminder to look for the movie about screaming and killer robots.
That is exactly what I had today. Dreamt about one of the scenes and had to look up the trailer :)
Another movie based on a story by Philip K. Dick. I suppose apart from Jules Verne he is the author with the most sci fi movies made from his books. And most of them good ones. He's a genius.
There was a sci_fi movie I saw as a kid and I've tried my best to remember what it was, but I cannot remember anything except that maybe it was set in a spaceship and there was a guy who was a member of the crew maybe a computer engineer (and not the main character) and he had a little dog, and when the doggie was killed by whatever was threatening everyone he just flipped out. It just stayed in my memory because of his relationship with the dog.
I have no idea what that film was, wish I could find it!
PKD has that effect on people
a gem of a movie, perfect for late nights
100% agreed
Yes!!
Loved this movie so much as a child that I made it the first review of my channel: ua-cam.com/video/LfVyhEE6ndQ/v-deo.html
10000 agree
I agree it's one of my favorite Sci fi films in the 1990s
Finally, after so long I found this movie. I LOVED it as a kid
It looks like I'm not the only one that saw this movie as a kid and has been trying to find it ever since. The last scene is what I remember mostly.
This is one of my favorite science fiction films. A definite must see.
Yup
I love it. I revisit now and then
@Мучитељ OH nice I watched it again a few weeks back.
@@Saint3188do it again
i remember watching this as a kid during the summer at my grandmothers', being scared shitless after that
I was 12 when I rented it on VHS and loved it
Same 😂
Screamers is one of the best Scifi/Horror Movies ever.
I loved this movie, saw this as a kid, damn I miss the 90s
This trailer spoils some of the surprises... Don't watch it, go watch the movie. It's amazingly good!
As I work on training and models to integrate AI into our workflows I often think back to this movie. Especially the line "No, no one's been down there since they pushed the first button and ran like hell". One day ChatGPT and the others will have realtime access to the internet. I envision something like this when they make that connection :)
Psychopath, you must be a Democrat.
I saw this movie when i was like 8, i was watching thid movie alone. And hell the entire made me feel so incredibly depressive and lonely because there were no subtitles. Truly scary. im 17 now and i think i dare watching it now.
Oh wow same here.
Me too
Same!
Your parents are fools : it is absolutely not for young ones !
I remember being haunted by it after I watched it as well especially the ending.
Loved this movie as a kid. "In a world."
Those old movie trailer narrations are hilarious. Almost every sci fi movie started out that way.... "In a world"
now we have FPV drones, one step before "screamers"
Yeah autonomous mobile swords would work awesome
What a classic I remember watching this movie when I was 8 years old and since then I’ve been looking for the name of the movie.
A gem of a movie, gripping and gutsy, one of the best for value entertainment. Yes! I recall watching this on VHS tape many times...
a gg screamer boooooys
Vhs, whats that? Lol
@@jjjordan3881 very horny stuff
One of my favorites, this and the thing are in my top 5.
I saw this in the theater as a kid. Man it was awesome.
I still own this on laser disc despite not owning a laser disc player anymore xD
That last scene about teddy bear hits so hard…. DOPE movie… highly recommended !!!
A part of me wonders what they could have done with a bigger budget, but the other is happy they didn't. It gives of a robotic version of The Thing. But having been a while since I have seen it, I don't understand why they give themselves up by screaming before they attack or as soon as they get called out.
Great movie, and great story (Second Variety) to be based upon ...
For some reason, Philip K. Dick's writing inspired a bunch of the most successful SciFi movies (Blade runner, Total Recall, Screamers, Minority Report, Impostor, Paycheck, A scanner Darkly) ... and the sad thing is don't even know who really wrote all these stories.
It's on par with another successful SciFi writer with many screen adaptations (Andromeda Strain, Westworld, Futureworld, Disclosure, Sphere, Congo) whose name you will be hard-pressed to remember... even if I add Jurassic Park and Lost World to the bunch :)
Michael Crichton has his share ofsuccess though?
Michael Crichton sold at least around 150 million books, it's safe to say people remember his name. Certainly anyone who was buying books in the 90s.
Philip K. Dick's novels and stories are much deeper and better than Crichton. He approaches questions like what is reality, truth, being human etc.
Add to that: "A sound of thunder, " "the man in the High Castle"....
@@halberderdier8073chrichton somehow did that in Micro. Great book lacking a film
Nice to hear optimos prime narrating.
Just read Philip K Dick’s story that inspired the movie. Untouchable.
which book?

He's a genius. With so many iconic movies based on his books!
Peter Cullen and that old school voice-over.
he and the late great Don LaFontaine must've been good friends
Damn movies were so good back at the day.
why is that your name
@@yayajim9071 what about it?
Yeah what about it? It's just Jason Statham, reminiscing about the good old days.
I miss the 1990s
Yeah I am 28 but 1980-2000s films are peak
Still one of my favorite movies..
"Dead or alive, you're coming with me!"
xd
:p
Optimus Prime!!!
Peter Cullen is always good for voice rolls. I hope he gets that Emmy.
Tremors & Terminator & The Thing = Screamers
😆
Perfect blend that worked so well.
This movie give me the worst nightmare
Yup. I was way too young when I watched it for the first time. Same goes for Virus.
@@razorburn645virus was great same as cube and ghost ship and doom when I was 8-9

I’ve been looking for this movie fr years 😵💫😳😳😳 I’m glad I’ve found it
This deserves a higher budget remake.
It's a shame that we never got a proper sequel or reboot.
This movie is very well! Realy a little gem!
Yesssssssssssssssssss! I’ve found it!
Yesssssssssss!!!!!!!
I’ve been searching for the underground spinning alien movie for years!!!
Cool B series movie. Better than I expected.
Underrated gem.
just... reveal ALL the plot points .
good job.
Finalmente depois de quase 15 anos procurando por esse filme eu consegui encontrar, eu tinha poucas lembranças dele, não sabia o nome, pois eu o vi pela primeira e única vez com 12 anos.
Caraca!
It’s a gang good movie brining me back to my childhood
I never saw the title when I watched the movie, I saw so freaked out, my anxiety went haywire. This is the best film
I mean, with no budget we get this gem ..and then we have Secret Invasion with a 200M budget.
I watched it when it came out . I was 8 at the time. It becam my favorite movie
I had a local video store on yhe corner of my block in the 90s. I saw many cheezy b film greats from that corner store!
this is the movie after the night club i watched everytime i had a drink in the 90s
This movie is amazing, little cheesy and goofy acting especially Roy Dupuis as Becker. This is just one of those rare low budget sci-fi movies you have to watch at 12am after a rough day. 💆♂️
Saw it on tv and the plots twist stuck with me at the end love it !
Some drones are similar to screamers.
There are already some FPVs with simple AI and target lock.
I couldn't remember the name. I thought it was scanners(completely different movie. But also very good) can't wait to watch it again. Been to long.x
remember when they made actually interesting movies ?
Pepperidge farm remembers
😄 good luck !
Screamers and event horizon are incredible
I wish Jennifer Rubin had done more.
Yes! Im watching her movies now. 😊
having a helluva time finding a free stream for it. no luck yet. that and The Road and Snowpiercer.
The road and snowpiercer are great. The book The Road is even better. Just man up and get netflix.
I guess I’m not the only one who was looking to watch this movie again 😂 They should remake this movie with all the tech they have available today it would probably be amazing but never better than the first one.
Great movie when I was 8 so in 2010 I watched this first pretty scary
😂 Amazing! Optimus Prime doing the voice over promo. He also did the preview narration for Spawn in '97 and Batman & Robin
The screamers sound better here then in the actual movie
You guys do know that this is based on a true story???
Optimus Prime can sell me anything
Optimus Prime promoting a movie about killer robots nice.
*Peter Cullen FTW!!!*
I remember loving it as a kid but man those special effects don't hold up 😆
The little girl with the teddy bear has haunted me since it aired on TV when I was 5. I was born in 95’ which makes sense why I could never guess this one. FINALLY - i can name the movie that movie nobody remembers 😂.
I watched it at 7-9 somewhere inbetween first also born 95.
And david is a boy not a girl.
I watch this movie 2 times every year. Perfect for cozy nights. Same with The Thing or 30 days of night or Riddicks Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick
if you like this movie you might also like Moontrap (1989) and Virus (1999). Does anyone have any recommendations for me?
Mr. Dawg Soldier with Kurt Russel.

bad special effects, bad acting, and no robot action.
@@mr.4096 same universe as blade runner though
@@mr.4096 what about life force or Hardware?
@@timothy790110 i've seen them both but I don't remember Lifeforce much except I think I remember the special effects were creepy. Hardware is pretty good.
Hahaha "Once it gets inside, thats when the killing starts..." yet theres been lots of killing outside thus far. Lol love 80s-90s-00s movies...
One of my fav movies 👍👍👍
this ground burrowing robots terrified me as a child... i didnt go out for a while so i dont step on the ground...
Adorei esse filme.
The announcer here is the same voice as Optimus Primal in Beast Wars!
this kinda reminds me of the DOOM games
Where "drones" are headed.
Thius movie is perfection.
we saw this movie in theater in the mid 90's, I was in 5th grade now I'm 40 damn,
I saw this when I was 8 or 9 first and now 28
Why did they change the sound of the scream?
I watched the preview and under everyone's comments below I endeavor to watch this movie. I hope you have not lead me astray
so if tremors and the thing had a baby....this would be it
Non of which are about man made machines
Murphy..it's you
GREAT WORK
This was a good one.
Ah the origin of screamo
Starship Troopers + Tremors x Peter Weller/1995 = Screamers.
Indeed it's "Second variety ", novelette by Philip Dick
This movie Rules
Trailer gave everything away... the kid and lady screamet
Loved the first problem is they didn't do the sequel well at all. Think how it would be if that teddy had replicated on earth.
I really liked this movie
Video game Idea
I thought the same thing too the films universe would make for a great video game or TV series as well.
Great movie. Too bad the trailer pretty much gives everything away.
just hide in corners and jump scare your crew from time to time to confirm theyre humans, problem solved lol.
This is part *3* of the *THE THING* triology :D
Seriously , those belong together!
You are thinking about John Carpenters The Apocalypse Trilogy. THE THING, THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS and IN THE MOUTH OF MADDNESS
hey that narrator is clearly Peter Cullen, Optimus Prime!
I checked this out on Tubi, expecting a god-awful Aliens ripoff but was pleasantly surprised! I liked how well written and somewhat complex the characters were in addition to the gloomy atmosphere and amazing set design. I will say though, the screamers themselves were a bit disappointing (though that's likely just a me problem since I was expecting mechanical abominations similar to the robots in Virus or Death Machine....rather than an army of homeless kids or discount terminators lol)
Same here. I saw this on a streaming site and just expected a cheesy, cringy alien-distopian kind of film because majority of films like these are the same but man, i was pleasantly surprised.
Well written, each actor did phenomenally well and the twists caught me hell of off guard. 6.4 IMDB is pretty good. 90s, 80s movies are just so much better in quality compare to films now
And yeah, the screamers were kind of a let down especially the zombie like kids but the other kind of screamers lived up to their level like the female and the Type 2 kinds.
Based on the short story Second Variety by Philip K Dick
Not only is this a movie about a human looking machine that infiltrates humans, they also show who the infiltrating machine is in the trailer.
It copied Terminator to a tee.
I love this movie
*Reminds me of The Thing and Alien.*
A trailer full of spoilers 😂☺️
Trailer spoils quite a lot of the tension
Googled little girl with stuffed animal robot 90s movie. Watched this a lot on HBO back in the day
Since when is David a girls name
I can't see this trailer and not think of Bugs Bunny making a wrong turn at Albuquerque
They Don't do Movie Voice Overs like they use to.
They barely do ANY voiceovers anymore, they just show clips from the film.
Is that Peter Cullen, narrating?
Yep!
@@ShadowSonic2Optimus Prime FTW!!!
wow they spoil all the human screamers
Happy 28th. 🎉❤
