There can never be another decade like the 80s. This trailer & the movie are a classic 💯
if i only knew the name of the song?
So true
Maybe i m sounding too cringy but there is something with Cronenberg's movies that you always want to watch them really late at night.
oh my god yes
It’s cuz their weird
Or because his movies makes you think far greater than the average movie

Max Renn is a victimizer. I also woke up with a headache.
I am back
It was a simpler time 😅

VICTIMMMMMMMM
A lot of people don't like this trailer and it probably dose'nt do a good job selling the movie but I personally think it's cool and so eighties in a good way.
What, really? I love it, and if I hadn't already watched the movie, it would have sold it to me easily.
“Dose’nt” I can guarantee auto correct tried fixing that for you and you still changed it to the wrong word.
Belly Button Dose ant
It looks very cheesy but I get the feeling the tone of this trailer is very different to that of the movie itself. Im going to go watch it now.
I watched the movie guys, I found it enjoyable but not cheesy at all. Good special effects but it really did not make sense. overall ahead of its time with ideas but not with execution. This trailer only works if its ironic.

For 15 years I've celebrated this movie and the first time watching it was kind of a revelation. So much is said in it and even more is said each time I come to it again. Will always be one of my top 3 favorites. 💙📺👄
The 80s was so unique and different.
One of the 1st movies I saw once I bought my 1st VHS player in the early/mid 80s. I loved it and still watch it often on my computer. Damn, I miss the 80s.
yes! yes!
They called them VCRs in the 80's.
the irony is people are watching this on youtube on a laptop or tablet , nearly embedded in their eyeballbrains. amazing. science fiction becomes reality.
props to the giant television at 1:07
Pretty sure this hole movie is literally the saying:
*THE FUTURE IS NOW OLD MAN!!!*
Why have i never seen a trailer this good wtf i love this. Give this fricken thing an award, it's its own cinematic masterpiece!
I agree. they should give this some kind of video art award
Damn I hope it comes soon!
To the theater near me.
MrAccident lol it is actually tommarow and I'm going
its playing on 35mm at the Texas Theatre in Dallas tonight lol

Groovy.
Doubtful considering this movie came out about 33 years ago in 1983.
The '80s were the best. I want to go back so badly! This movie ruled. You can always tell when a movie, song, or show is from the '80s.
The voice of the trailer is Victor Caroli. Narrator of the transformers animated series and transformers the movie.
wow
In the world of home video, NOTHING is what it seems.
An outstanding performance by James Woods. This is y I became a big fan of his. Should’ve been nominated for an Oscar for best actor. He probably would’ve won. Hands down. An unforgettable performance.
Well he got ignored for this but he did get a nom for “Salvador,” a movie I would have never watched if not for “Videodrome.”
@@josebrown5961a very very underrated character actor. I always been a big fan of his work.
One of the greatest trailers ever and one of Cronenberg's greatest films outside of THE FLY 1986, SPIDER, and A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE. It still manages to be as graphic and extreme to this very day.
I like his movie called "crash"
Agreed, expect for Spider.
Eastern Promises, Naked Lunch and Dead Ringers are part of my favorite as well
Scanners
@@thymind13 Eastern Promises is THE most underrated mafia movie ever.
“Television can change your mind.. VIDEODROME will change your body.. it will shatter your reality.”
Wow, how have I not heard of this until today? This looks amazing.
I’m in the same boat. The funniest thing about that is the fact I love Blondie and love James Woods.
While I've seen this great film many times, this is the first time I watched this trailer, and that was the most awesomely 80s thing I have ever seen!
I can't wait to watch this one... I saw it on a list of "Best Movies of the 80's"... I've got to admit the trailer looked very intriguing
Victor Caroli should have done more movie trailer voiceovers, he had the perfect voice for films like this.
He did the Ames discount store commercials in the early 90s

This looks good even now in 2020
Where is as they like to say, the reboot to this right?
Somewhat relevant. Just replace the literal videodrome feed with twitter 👌
Even now? That would mean that film is actually better now…it is not. Actually an insult.
This movie predicted the smartphone epidemic
how funny this movie just becomes truth in 2024, now. People and events are literally eaten by the screen, and it changes reality in the flesh. Cronenberg was a visionary, but even I , being young and very imaginative in the 80s wouldnt think this to be such a great stretch of mind
As a teenager I remember having the tie in movie novel with a 3-D texture cover of Woods being engulfed on a TV screen. I miss the 80’s but glad I was old enough to live through it!
I remember seeing this when i was little all i remember was being afraid of the video tape and it being really strange miss the 80s lots of great memories
" Television will change your mind..it will shatter your reality." So scary true now.
Love the cheesy trailer.
I love the animated computer graphics. Amazing.
Can't wait for this to be released!
Just watched this last night. I am still tripping balls this morning from it.
You couldn't make this trailer today if you tried...lol. Love it!
damnote Yes you could, there are Trailers like this and music videos like this
I'm pretty sure those copies of Atari Combat on the TV are still around. You can't get rid of those things.
Videodrome is the Eraserhead for Gen Xers. My zoomer brother and a friend walked in during the Drebra S&M scene. They didn't leave til the end of the credits. Their minds blown.
completely predicted homeless shelters, internet cafes ( there was a video bar in Ft Laud called Cathode Ray ) and online /gaming/streaming addiction and Virtual Reality. a shocker for it's time to see our beautiful Blondie Deborah Harry as a brunette being tortured , never seen the trailer before many thanks for posting .
No how young James Woods was, I instantly hear Hades
So I'm only here because of that Rick and Morty Halloween trailer xD
David Scherder me too! I’ve seen every movie except this one and I had to look it up & gotta watch it now~
Holy crap. Me too. It was so surreal I had to check it out
dont do that... xD shit
I’m also seen all the movies except this one, now I got my Sunday planned out
Rick & Morty - bringing people together
Man these old trailers don’t do their movies justice
Just watched this movie, freaky but rather good.
The 80s were the most cyberpunk decade
Man,this is weirder looking than scanners and Tetsuo the Iron man put together!
I can see this as one of the animated movies made by MTV.
"Long live the new flesh."
This is starting to seem like a reality more and more each day.
Erik O. Isn't it? Very prescient, but then again Cronenberg has some kind of 3rd eye, he could see where things are heading. I love this film
Yes
Think about cell phones. Even if a human doesn't immediately physically change when physical exercise, critical thinking, and human interaction is replaced by four hours of tick tock videos a day, the result is the same. It's like the fundamental tenets of the human experience have changed overnight.
Buckle up. It's gonna get worse 👌

I'd say this trailer makes the movie seem cheezier than it is. Nice vicuals though.
If you liked this check out Heart of Midnight.. same kind of vibe. Totally under-rated
this is a awesomely strange movie. i was not expecting this movie to be what it is. this movie had me surprised from start to finish. the special effects in this movie are awesome they did a great job. the story was weird but in a good way and the acting was great. i like these types of odd films that make you say wtf. and that's what videodrome is. if you have not seen this movie then i recommend you do. rating 5/5
I agree, there's absolutely nothing else like it.
in some ways it feels like cabin in the woods but 80s, or exiztenz
VIDEODROME AMD THEY LIVE! BOTH FEEL LIKE THE SAME MOVIE BRILLIANT.
0:04- I don't know. They watch The Cinema Snob.
0:21- Oh, you'll be fine. Complain to Barbara Hershey in The Entity, and see how THAT goes.
1:30- They'll remake it today, and it'll just say "Twitter will make you an asshole." LONG LIVE THE NEW RETWEETS!
How did Tangerine Dream's "Thief" score end up in this trailer?
how not? it fits. and Tangerine Dream composed a number of movie soundtracks.
Great film. I'd have been ticked off with this trailer in 1983 because the music and animation were not from the movie at all.
Dope film and makes more sense now in the world of the web then it must have done 80s
Facts, and. Select the few people on internet who say they relate to taxi driver.
Are just believing the Idea of what the new flesh whats them to believe AKA the Internet. (I.E they truly relate to max ren from this movie)
I've never seen this despite growing up in the 80s. I'm going to watch it tonight.
Videodrome. Two will enter, one will leave
Man from Nantucket ladies and gentlemen. Dying times here
It sounds like a satire of the movie itself. Great trailer
Oh a piece of candy
Has anyone ever tracked down the song used in this trailer? Or was it just created specifically for the trailer, and hasn't been heard of since?
"Fran" by Narfcore.
I love this movie, it’s great!
This movie is relevant to this day. Just different form of media
this commercial is smothered in 80's lol
See you in Pittsburg
One of the first movies I watched on a vcr. All I remember about this movie was some guy got a vhs tape shoved right through his stomach!
The effects in this trailer strongly remind me of C64 games. Perhaps it was played as a video on a C64 when it was being recorded by cameras?
Love how they just shove Tangerine Dream's Thief soundtrack in at the end thre.

Use to love the movie voice overs in trailers
For those too young to remember this is a cult classic for us 70's babies! I saw it as a kid but the only thing I wish I knew is who sung the theme song in the trailer, it never made the movie.
I wish I knew who it was too. Sounds really cool
Imagine watching this film for the first time while peaking on 2 hits of window pane ( uhh... LSD to you
youngsters ). LONG LIVE THE NEW FLESH !!
I think Cronenberg is one of my fav directors due to the ideas in his films - its all very transhumanism and evils inherent in technology - ideas very relevant to these times...Im not sure i get what the new flesh is though...
GB3770 The UA-cam algorithm. The medium is the message
The new flesh is like what the new reality is because videodrome makes you hallucinate to forget reality and be confused to what is real or not.
Basically
Losing your mind completely = Scary
*Perfect blue and Videodrome are in the same horror movie genre, Psychological thriller with mind shattering images*
Videodrome is such an awesome movie I love it. But it's true none of these cartoon graphics and music are featured in the film.
What's the song that starts at 0:12?
Can someone tell me what song that is in this trailer? With the female vocalist?
HighVoltage Shock im searchin for it too. can you find it?
How he didn't end with indigestion is beyond me.
this movie brought me back to the days of being on the middle school bus and hearing someone talk about 3 guys 1 hammer
Back in the early 90s, my ex-wife worked in the gap in water tower in Chicago, Illinois. James Wood came into the gap one day, and when he was paying my ex-wife put his credit card on top of her head and said now I’m only person who’s ever had James Wood’scredit card on top of her head.
An italian goth ex-police man from the 37th iteration of the universe brought me here.
I have no clue what you are saying but I think it's funny so you get a like
Anyone got the song?
Love the sound and music of this stuff.... I can't help noticing how pathetic today's movies sound. Too much high-tech effects but no soul. That's no art for me...
Yeah, its the music score which makes me love the 80s (horror) movies. Nowadays is just effects and depth of field.
So true ! However there have been some art houses in recent times
FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT OMG, absolutely agree
Does anyone know the song title in the back???
I watched videodrome 3x and lost my mind
What a wild trailer
Yes I’m here from The Weeknd yes I’m excited for the album
Yes... Me too 😂👋
Yes kids, in the 1980s, weren't yet afraid of the internet. We were worried about scary video images.
Happy Birthday today(July 1) to Deborah Harry. Cheers!
