Come to Magnetic Island and marry me baby you’re fkn amazing 😘👻
when civilians like YOU make FUN of PTSD... it makes SOLDIERS like ME... WITH PTSD... make me want to GIVE you PTSD. NOT my type of PTSD. For YOU? Mmmaybe like assaulted by a GORILLA PTSD. THAT would be FUNNY. THAT's a good PTSD joke. NO you can't use it.
casually asking old men what mental illness to have is cracked lol
It helps to be original but at the same time relatable. Also, at your age you might want to target an older demographic. For example, I have a Photogenic Memory, Nonlinear Spatial Time Disorder, and Late Onset Social Dysplasia.
Little did he know, being an Influencer was the Illness the whole time.
lol
😂😂😂
Brilliant!
Maybe the real illness was the friends we made along the way.

Sweet, Amphetamines ftw! Ask O'Biden.
Multiple personality disorder is what I would go with, that way I can always have a personality that suffers from whatever mental disorder that is fashionable at any given time.
And you can have multiple channels.
That's already being used by a lot of TikTokers. And somehow all of these "alts" can cooperate to make a single TikTok video.
@@bigredracingteam9642 it's brilliant- reviving the "flim-flam men" and "con artists" from the dayz of auld lol, this stuff does my heart good
I'm a licensed mental health therapist and I think this is hilarious. Ironically, the book shown earlier (Depression is Contagious by Yapko) is about how mental illness is trendy, and how we need to stop pushing medication on people and instead teach them to live effectively.
Thank you for clarifying the book subject. Sounds like a good one
And what would become of Big Pharma if all you irresponsible mental health people did that?
This is so important. I hope you all are pushing the more natural route for people that obviously are okay. I’m a 29 year old woman, I don’t know a single person my age or around me that doesn’t say that have something … it’s insane. There’s just no way everyone is that mentally ill. And it’s only here in America we do this. Like women in Syria getting assaulted and starving with their kids seem to do better then the average middle class soccer mom? We’re a mess
So you’re a licensed scammer, therapy is for the weak.
@@Heavyisthecrown ..women in Syria..what? Were you just in Syria asking around?
"Extremely empathetic to a small group of approved people withing my circle" (c) this nails it :)
I'm roaring an hour later over that line 😂
That was my favorite line, nailed it
It may change at any moment, depending on if they have a new thought.
What is (c) ?
Narcissism is a given for most.
Cant believe there's a "sexuality" called "autosexual" where people are obsessed with them selves and only like the look of themselves so basically narcissism but as an excuse to call it a sexuality and surprise surprise Kourtney Kardashian out of all people have it 😂
I'm just going to play it safe and say I'm autistic. That's still the most fashionable mental self-diagnosis. But I do also like to add anxiety and time blindness to my bio. Keeps people on their toes
it gets the ladies to say: awwww, tistick!
Time blindness is a really good one :)
I was always shocked that Elon Musk was satisfied with autism alone.
good choice
Depression is much more fashionable than autism.

And so helpful! So much constructive suggestions, to help Ryan with his new career!
80% of women who have a toktok claim to have ptsd because their “narrsissitic ex” told them “no” one time 5 years ago
I wish I were joking
Yup. My ex said she had PTSD. I usually reserve that for military but she claimed it was due to dating a jerk back in the day. Odd thing is she didn’t have any triggers and didn’t freak out when someone reminded her. Anyone who claims to have PTSD should be able to list their triggers and the last time they had a freak out.
@@Pepesilvia267yes and no it can be cptsd mostly due to childhood trauma. It can mask as any other mental illness like ocd, BPD, GAD or bipolar disorder. I was falsely misdiagnosed with autism when I had cptsd all this time 😂
Don't underestimate the trauma of being told "No!" It is devastating when you have never heard it growing up. It totally crushes the idea that you are the most important person in the universe for 5 minutes. ;-)
@@Nastasyashanti yeah no you just spend too much time on your phone, go outside, touch grass and do some healing
That woman was so helpful 😂
THIS IS SO REAL. We have an epidemic of self-diagnosing in this country, and I’m convinced part of it comes from the effort to “remove the stigma” from mental disorders (“neurodivergences”). They’ve become fashionable trends at this point.
I don't think It has to do with removing stigma, more with a bunch of edgy teens thinking being mentally ill makes them special, combined with psychology articles giving the most vague of descriptions for symptons - making It possible for anyone to identify with them and self-diagnose.
I've noticed a trend of such "neurodivergent" people conversing together and speaking condescendingly about "neurotypical" (aka normal) people.
its not self diagnosing its munchausen syndrome. People just pretend for attention. They don't actually think they have these disorders.
I think it's because just being "normal" is considered boring (and nobody celebrates normalcy.)
Psychs themselves are diagnosing everyone! Look at the profession!
that couple at the end that taught you how to "crip walk" so to speak was lovely
That woman being "You wanna be crazy? Sure, I'm here to help you become crazy" is such a nice lady! Lovely!
😂😂😂 that old woman just tryin to help 😂😂😂
People have told me that they have to self diagnose because doctors won’t diagnose them with anything… it’s almost like they don’t actually have any mental illnesses
The couple was hilarious, played along perfectly
"double your income stream" Lmfao
The real mental illness was the lack of friends we made along the way
Caused by thinking each of us is the centre of the universe.
Or the imaginary friends we made along the way.
Jordan Peterson presented a large study that showed that when the media/social media starts talking about a certain mental illness(es), there are serious spikes in diagnosis/self-diagnosis of said illnesses, but after a few years, it all dissipates to the usual figures. Its used as a tool for empathy and validation for sure.
Bill Maher pointed out to those who claim that trans is simply more prevalent because it's more acceptable, why are there regional differences? You go to a middle school in L.A., and 1/3 of the class will be trans. Go to South Dakota, and there will be zero or maybe one. You have to wonder how trans babies know how to be born to celeb parents who will embrace their transness, LOL.
its just about being part of the club, normies dont want to feel left out.
the fun part is that this is an indicator that they dont have any mental illness because thats how normal people work.
Neuro divergent is the new term.
I don't think like other people, I'm special.
Admittedly, being neurodivergent DOES result in thinking along different patterns or having very different style of expressing empathy which becomes an issue in life, ruining relationships and jobs. Understanding that helps us improve and get along with others better.
@@barongerhardtwell at least you admit it *jokes*
Personally I prefer retard. The true classic
@@AmberyTear ok so when a husband who loves his wife hits her that can be regarded as neurodivergent? There's a lot of couples with mental issues who are afraid of loosing their loved ones so they express themselves in a different style. Lot of sex crimes is also done out of love and compassion. You can disagree, but that is in the head of the person doing it. Is this something to "understand"?
I used to shit my pants when I was quite young. To this day I refuse to speak with my parents because they wouldn't set up a channel for me to discuss my condition.
What's the name of your channel discussing your PTSD from not having a channel?
Me too. We should start a podcast

Who happened to be schizophrenic🤷🏻♂️
Don't stress over it. You can always add stuff later on. If something new comes out, it's definitely something you have.
Simply claim something was “misdiagnosed” once it loses its cache
That lady showing how to walk head down is giving away valuable influencer information for free. She's crazy!
That older couple were GREAT.
The fact that influencers are trying to choose what mental disorder to "have"... It's actually just a narcissistic trait.
Next, someone will mock them for it on social media. Keep your eyes open.
Ooh narcissism good one. It's literally one they can all claim. Regardless of whether it's an illness or not! 😅
Do you think there is an influencer who isn't a narcissist? If you point the camera at yourself and film yourself, then post it, you are a level 10 narcissist
@@MrJeebusWalks to be fair, it IS a word that is overused, which is why I used the word "trait" instead
@jon_wholesale does this also make school teachers narcissists? Is everyone i dont like on the internet one? I hear you. The word is overused. That's why I used the word "trait" after.

Imagine my shock when I got out of the Army and all the civilians back home had PTSD from starbucks being closed for a day.
Good grief! Yup that's how bad it is now.
Well you know the had lots of serious things to handle while you were off adventuring, like going to work if they didn't feel like it. Or maybe they heard an opinion they didn't like. You're gonna have to be more empathetic to their trauma. Happy fourth to ya dude!
My toast fell onto the floor butter side down last week. The Euthanasia Team is coming to my house the end of this month (Canadian here.)
I’m glad you got a couple of local experts to give you pointers. That kind of experience is invaluable in pretending you have experience.
Gotta do research and find out which mental illness is the most trendy and profitable at the time.
trans is the most pop right now!~
Haha everytime I hear people say "I have a little ADHD too"... Its like saying "I have a bit of cancer too" or "I am a bit of an amputee". Technically ADHD is a neurological disorder but "works" for many others. I spent a lot of time thinking "damn these people handle their flavor of ADHD so much better than me, I feel ashamed" then you read the rest of their hashtag list of "disorders".😢
I prefer "anxiety". Everyone has it, there's no way to get rid of it, but there's a lot of money to be made.
Clearly you've never tried xanax
I know several people who lack the brain function to feel anxiety about anything. Sometimes Im jealous.
It might be helpful to create a wheel of misfortune, so you can spin the arrow every day and switch out your mental anguish. Keeps things fresh!
The worst part is the people who are like: "oh yeah. people are talking about it now and that really helps".
As someone who actually suffers mentall illness (PTSD, Depression, the classic combo) I feel so much less secure and understand because of all these people using mentall illness as piece of clothing to be discarded when the next fad comes along... Yeah, no, I have no choice, I'm actually stuck with a broken brain even after the fad dies down soon enough...
I love how that couple at the 2 minute mark started to lean into the conversation.
It's a big decision - don't let anyone rush you.
So glad people are calling out the mental health boom. Even if you are aware you might be on a spectrum or have some minor issues like so many people, making it 80% of your personality is just so obnoxious.
And with that I'd like to thank today's sponsor, BetterHelp.
Better Bloody Help 😅😅😅
I suffer from historical trauma, it's real you guys. Not going to work today because of it.
2:31 That retired dude is keeping it real! "Yeah, but it helps though." LOL.

Why not just go for all of them bud. Either way fake is fake
Believability man. Never go full mental.
Reminder that the definition of "dysphoria" is:
"A feeling of dissatisfaction with one or more aspects of your life or identity."
And that's a phoquing real thing in the DSM.
You need to get laid
@ephraimwinslow Soo basically everyone has dysphoria after that definition. Nice

Correct.
(This is why you shouldn't take psychology seriously as an academic discipline.)
I have actual diagnosed biological ADHD, and this is hilarious. ADHD doesn't define me and I am not a victim. I am just like everyone else, it's my job to adapt.
"can dreams cause trauma?"
😂😂😂
Ah man. On the one hand it's great that mental health awareness has come so far. On the other hand, the kids who think it's trendy and do this sort of thing make it harder for the rest of us to be taken seriously.
The guy was so smug about that shirt.
“That guy in the white shirt there, oh yes, definitely crazy”
Hahahaha 😂 then the dude was randomly jumping in the shot a min later
Oh for God's sake. I know people like this. I went to secondary school with them. They concously chose to make mental illness the bedrock of their personality. I'm diagnosed bipolar. It's an awful thing to have. These people though. They assume that being a happy fluffy energy bunny is the standard, de facto human condition. Any deviation from this, must be something clinical. They are not sad and miserable. They are depressed. It's not that they hadn't read a book in years, spending them on TikTok and hence their capacity to focus went to zero. They are ADHD. It's not that they had unhappy moments in their childhood like everyone does. They have PTSD. All of this is simply a way of forfeiting any degree of responsibility for one's own life. Full stop.
Excuse the spelling

Just to say mental illness at the need for genuine treatment level is utterly brutal and chronically debilitating. It would be next to impossible to run a commercial business channel with a significant mental health problem.

Woman with the glasses is simply charming.
Glamorizing and faking mental illness is making it weird to talk about your problems even when you don't have an illness because it makes you feel like you can't say things until they fit a threshold/standard of badness. You also start to question yourself if you are even really struggling or if you are just in need for attention and when your problems get "big enough" then you don't want to talk about it anymore because then you are in the zone of not wanting to be a burden. Because then you are supposed to go speak with a therapist since it is no one's responsibility to help you.
Someone commented about people having false expectations of how happy/easy a life is supposed to go.
And building your personality around a fake mental illness can be annoying and seems like not taking responsibility...
...But maybe making fun of this in isolation and saying that people should take responsibility is not enough and just a small bandaid for bigger trends/problems: Something about individualism seems to almost always fit any problem of today. A need to be special to fit into a world of abundance where it sometimes seems like your worth is defined by your entertainment value/the amount of attention people give you because that culture surrounds us everyday. And also under this umbrella the sentiment that everyone is closest to themselves and in constant competition. The pressure of having to be special/self commodification and being the only one responsible for your self may be one reason to try to be not normal. Combining this with a potentially dark future of climate change, wars and world ending AI/a generally fast paced society where you feel like you don't have any control over anything (and especially as a young person not feeling heard by politicians) and the appeal for surrendering and giving away your responsibility emerges.
This might be very obvious and surface level stuff or completely misdiagnosed but all I want to say is: We CAN make fun about people like this (pointing out a problem to make one think is great) and then just tell them to change but if we never question what makes people become like this then it's either as none effective as always or we may just further perpetuate a bad system.
I hope someone understands what I'm trying to say and use those big words as a starting point for something more deep.
I feel like not being bouncy is going to be the hardest part for Ryan to master the depressed stride
People with actual mental illnesses rarely if ever discuss these openly. Jokes aside, influencers are an insult to others with actual struggles, and human society in general.
Interesting how literally yesterday i listened to a jordan peterson video where he says thru history mental illnesses have one case and then spike upwards to become a trend. Literally means we’re influenced by someone random to look for a problem. I mean, he said it waay more sophisticated than me but this video just basically proves it that mental illnesses seem like a trend. Of course, few exceptions that are real, but a huge amount of ppl just “want” to believe they are autistic, ptsd, adhd, bipolar, etc.
And they get so offended if they are asked if they’re medically diagnosed 🙄
The couple were super helpful!
